#walks into thread munching pop corn# interesting, since its seun that loosed faith not the whole world or his family? enh life still continues abi? inbtw, am loving the bf drama, ishi & co, keep it up ![]() #goes to sit at a vantage point# am gonna love this all the way ![]() |
Creatrixity: Lol..Before i go into anything, one question..how do you know the bible is God's word?Belly of a fish? whoa! what can't we do with technology, those oyibos enh ![]() @ur question like duh, you came late, the ministry has moved to permanent site ![]() |
Alfa Seltzer: This is what you would have loved that he said, except he didn't say that. He said something else which I already quoted. You are just making shyte up.you can't know my Jesus more than me, can you? ![]() i gave you a verse for my first explanation, i guess i should do my homework well and get you other verses i quoted and drew inferences from, but that has got to be some other time, cos frankly i got a story to write and update in another section, this section drains me out arguing with the 'Greeks' who love wisdom and the 'Jews' who look for signs, and am a poor Nigerian Blonde who hates argument its a miracle i held my turf here, *a clap for moi *but right now, am gonna concede defeat if that will please you lot, afterall 'talk is cheap, action is expensive'... and the bible says '...always learning but never able to acknowledge the truth' (2Tim3:7)so adios, my wonderful 'ism' brothers, look at me as another coward, another lost foolis.h soul, another ignoramus, another whatever i wont mind.the truth still remains that am a Christian, will get married to a Christian and by the grace of God raise godly children, thank goodness you can't take that away from me... ![]() so i leave you with one word. Christianity rocks! ![]() |
Uyi Iredia: Walt Disney also makes films for adults, like John Carter (if my memorythat still depends on what is in you that teaches you what you understand, because the Holy Spirit comes only to those who needs and ask for him. so don't blame him if some people say things that is out of line with what he would want them know or what he teaches, afterall, its not written in the face who has the Spirit or not. then offcourse the human factor still comes to play, you know the nature nurture ish. ![]() and John carter is a fairytale, don't tell me you believe its not just because Walt Disney targeted the adult audience? I don't think so. ![]() |
Alfa Seltzer: Can you please tell us what Jesus meant when he said this?in verse 18, he was talking about himself, he's the fulfilment of the law and the prophet (Gal 3:17-23) his death and resurrection ushered us to the era of grace and abolished all the strict rule and regulations of the law, why? because God saw that it was too hard for us to obey, but now with Jesus we are free to come boldly to his throne and seek for mercy and Grace, in essence Jesus then, was talking about himself fulfilling all that the law and prophet prophesied. verse 19. Jesus went further in another verse to summarise all the laws as 'love for God and love for fellow man, against which there is no other law' (requoted by me, i presently don't have the exact bible verse) and he wants people to preach love and teach people to do so too. because if you looked at it, you'd see the truth in it, love is what we need to obey all them laws, everyone speaks love nomatter their race and beliefs. that's all that matters. |
Alfa Seltzer: Oh no, I don't hate it. It is a very nice children's story book. Ifairytales are for kids, am nolonger a kid, ask Walt Disney, they'd tell you whom their targeted audience are. the way you perceive the bible is strongly hinged on individualism hence the individual difference theory ![]() because your kids see the bible as a story book, doesn't mean mine would, afterall Lions beget lion ![]() |
musKeeto:and keep it that way too ![]() |
Alfa Seltzer: That's exactly what I said. You didn't figure any hard thing out on youryeah it didn't come from me, i didn't write the bible, i met it as the manual for the faith i was born into, and later understood for myself and choose to remain in the faith, just like you were born into a religion, but when you understood and reasoned it out, you pulled out from it, that's what makes us adults, what's the difference? And if i may ask, did you personally write those books that nurtured and groomed your knowledge on 'one of the ism' you belong to? no! have you written a book that will be the manual of living for your kind, however way it should be done? no so why expect me to... ![]() read your books, and i would read mine, everybody is happy. but the problem is why do you guys keep on criticizing the Bible, you don't wanna understand and believe? if you so hate it, then close it and shut the Fvuk up ![]() |
These are some Bible verses, that talks about people like you all, i wonder if you guyz ever read the bible, all of it and not just the Old testament with some of its shock therapy. that's why we are the choosen Generation living under the era of Grace, made possible by the death of Jesus, we are not under the law okay, if we were, then Jesus death was in vain. and That's the Gospel truth. anyways, here it is Bible verses from NIV: 'Blessed are the poor in spirit, for their is the kingdom of God' (mt 5:3) 'And he (Jesus) said: I tell you the truth, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the Kingdom of heaven' Mt 18:3 what these verses mean, is that if you claim all wiseness and refuse to humble your spirit like a child to learn about God, you'd just keep chasing shadows and doubting. The kingdom of God is not for you. Now my key verses: 'Where is the wise man? Where is the scholar? Where is the philosophers of this age? Has God not made foolis.h the wisdom of the world? For since in the wisdom of God the world through its wisdom did not know him, God was pleased through the foolis.hness of what was preached to save those who believe. Jews demand miraculous signs and Greeks look for wisdom, but we preach Christ crucified; a stumbling block to Jews and foolis.hness to the Greeks (1cor 1:20-23)' I'd advice you read to 31 if you want to understand better. i couldn't cos i can't write and copy all, my clipboard wont allow. |
Alfa Seltzer: Not hard at all. If you trust the mouth that spewed it out to you in the first place, not hard at all.my Bible spewed it out to me, like i said earlier on, am not a fanatic, i have a bible and i actually read it! ![]() its obvious your problem stems from a pastor, prophet or whatever, just know there are real and fake pastors outthere, like in everywhere, how can you allow the attitude of a person define your philosophy? |
musKeeto: And you understand it?Perfectly! ![]() Jesus ascended and sent down the Holy Spirit who continues the work of Jesus in the lives of men. how hard can it be ![]() |
Creatrixity: @princesa,we Deists believe in God,not in any of man's favorite fables.what's the difference? you believe in God, in his word (the Bible), his son (Jesus), nd the Holy Spirit. or don't believe atall ![]() #am gonna come back with verses in the bible that describes all of you, the bible knows and sees it all# ![]() |
musKeeto: ^^ If you can't argue with one God, pick another God...the God i worship is three in one God the father God the son God the Holyspirit they are called the trinity, with different functions and one goal, it is a bigger mystery all of you can't accept or understand ![]() |
God in his word said, 'without blood, there is no remission of sin' in the Old testament, the Israelites used the blood of lambs and sheep as sin offering, but that hadn't solve all the problems, come to think of it, its very expensive and a error to them animals and Animal activist would frown at such things now. but God still wasn't satisfied, he wanted something to stand as a once and for all atonement, that's why he gave his son, he wanted to draw men to himself and not cause them any more grief by picking any of their sons, besides a sinner dying for sinners didn't just equate he wanted a 'higher' blood, an impeccable blood and that's why he chose his son, who was in every way a God like him (you know, Lion begets Lion) and then it pleased him to crush him for the salvation of the world and still he raised him from the dead. Jesus is risen he's no longer dead!and if God says he's the only way to him, then it is his choice why argue? He's God afterall. ![]() |
onegig: Everyone has a price..post me a poem and start writing already ![]() |
@glow Mid week should be fine? ![]() na wah oh, no comment, no encouragement, no review, no corrections since I posted. ![]() chop and clean mouth abi? God go judge our case. ![]() |
but you don't believe in Jesus? ![]() i feel so pained, you sound like someone in search of something... you want to believe and you don't want to believe....... if you would just let go of some established truths and logic.. and just open your heart and accept those mystery you don't wanna explain....... and let God and his Spirit and his son Jesus, who is the only established way to him, do the rest, you might get answers to the BIG question, whatever it is.. Can i pray for you and keep at it? ![]() as for the other beliefs, i can Google it up, since you didn't explain them to me... but then again, what exactly is your stand, which belief do you hold. ![]() |

She'd giving up everything and now even longed to build back their marriage for what gain? Another cold slap upon her face. Grace had very well being in his life all along and he'd denied it that Saturday! Everything had been planned from the onset, and now he wanted a truce, a comeback like nothing ever happened! She'd see how far that went. They were going back to their old war, love or no love. Daisy wiped the tears that had formed in her eyes and quickened her steps, stopping briefly at the gate, as the gateman addressed her. 'you're going already?' the gateman asked. What does it look like? Daisy was tempted to reply, instead she nodded and walked on to meet with a deserted road. Daisy sighed. 'how hard is it getting a cab around here?' she turned and asked the gateman who was standing at the gate. 'you mean taxi?' Daisy nodded. 'sorry but you'd have to walk a bit...oh! luck has found you' he said as a taxi passed and dropped a lady few houses away. 'you'd go with that when it heads out' he said smiling. Daisy smiled. This was interesting, the gateman here spoke English fluently unlike Adamu, their gateman. But then, from an estate like this, you wouldn't expect any thing less. she concluded still smiling. Daisy waved the taxi as it came closer now, it stopped and she went in, but to the back this time. She wanted so much to be alone. Alone to moan her plight. 'madam where you dey go?' the driver asked. She gave him the name of the estate they lived. 'that place far madam, your money go be...' 'just go please, money isnt the issue here' 'okay na' the driver replied, kicked the engine and zoomed off. Daisy didn't look back as they drove out, didn't notice Brenda run out from the gate, didn't notice her ask the gateman some questions, didn't notice her enter back in disappointment. Daisy couldn't have because she was lost in her thought. Like a olive tree, Brenda's harmless insinuation had planted a seed in her heart while Daisy watered it with her grief, self pity and anger. End of chapter 15 ![]() |
Br3nd4: Awwww..... Such cute friendsyou guessed right what can i say? it runs in the family ![]() |
Daisy said nothing but kept at her juice. With the rate she was going, she could easily down a 500 gram pack of orange Juice in one sitting, but Daisy hardly cared. She knew Brenda was telling the truth, something she'd been so afraid to realise or deliberate upon. But now, hearing it from Brenda, the scales were gradually falling off her eyes. Jide was definitely cheating on her. Daisy's eyes turned misty as she gulped down another glassful of juice. 'you might wanna slow down on that' Brenda asked calmly. She could now sense the effect her words were having & she was sorry. Daisy shrugged and poured herself another. She could atleast drown her miserable life with Juice since it was nutritious anyways. 'okay, since you don't wanna stop, there's more where that came from. 'all the better' Daisy drawled. 'It would be a perfect ending to a happy start'. A painful silence passed, none spoke to the other, as each sat, lost in their thought. Then: 'I almost forgot! guess who called me yesterday?' Brenda asked excitedly out of the blues, partly wanting to change the topic. 'am not in the least interested' Daisy replied coldly. 'come off it, this is a better news!' 'and i said save...' Daisy's phone rang just then interrupting her. She rummaged in her bag, wondering who the caller was. Brenda was here, so it definitely wouldn't be her. The other suspect would be mama, but she wasn't expecting her call. Bringing out the phone, Daisy nearly fainted with surprise as she saw the caller. 'who's calling' Brenda asked, noticing the surprise on her Daisy's face. 'oh my God!' Daisy said slowly, holding the phone like its a prized possession. 'would you spill already' Brenda asked irritated. 'its...its...its...Jide' she stammered. 'so?' Brenda asked, more irritated. She had thought it to be someone special, not atall expecting it to be Jide, with all these buzz. 'you don't get it! He doesn't have my number, and I never knew he did, i got his from a business card sometimes ago and now he's calling me! I wonder how!' 'the moon maybe' she drawled 'News flash! Jide's calling his wife!' she added and hissed. The phone stopped ringing then, soon it started again. 'what do i do now?' 'pick the damn call! Or better still switch damn thing off, why is he calling you anyways' she said and hissed. Daisy eyed her then picked the call. 'Hello' she said timidly. 'hi. Uhm Daisy its Jide. I know. Daisy answered in her mind then loudly she said: 'yeah?' 'are you home yet?' 'No' A pause, then: 'are you coming home soon' Daisy glanced at Brenda who was watching her intently. 'am not sure. Is there something you wanted?' A pause again. 'am not feeling so well at the office' 'You're sick? When did that...' Brenda was by her side in a flash and dragged the phone from her. 'look here Mister, my friend is no Doctor, if you're sick, find your way to a f.ucking hospital and stop intruding on our discussion' Brenda shouted into the phone while Daisy, now standing, tried to retrieve the phone from her. 'I called to speak to my wife not a rude lady like you, so if you would kindly...' Jide replied angrily 'or what? what can you bloody do?' 'hand back the phone for pete's sake Brenda!' Daisy shouted and wrenched the phone successfully from her. 'Jide are you still there?' she asked moving away. 'you're both perfect for eachother!' Brenda shouted angrily and went back to sit Some minutes later, Daisy surfaced. She sighed and went to her seat, there she picked her bag and put the phone inside, turning to face Brenda, she said: 'I gotta run' Brenda raised a brow in shock 'so soon?' she asked 'yeah, he's not really sick, said he's hungry or something' 'then what Great and mighty chef? you're running to go fix him a recipe!' 'I'll call you later' Daisy sighed. 'wasn't I saying something before he called?' 'that had got to wait. I will call you okay' she started moving. 'come give me a ride' she added, even though She was sure Brenda wouldn't accept. 'not on your life' Brenda retorted. 'okay then, I'll call you later, just make sure you pick your call then' she said and rushed out. Brenda hissed bitterly. That man was gradually stealing her friend whom he wasn't worthy of. 'What a waste!' She cursed. Not giving Daisy another glance as she left...' Out in the compound, Daisy stood a while before slowly walking to the gate. She hadn't look forward to going yet, but the truth of Brenda's word had affected her more than she had shown. It could be true that she'd been drinking Juice and fading away while Jide gallivanted with Grace out there. Then what had she been like to him? A woman only worthy enough to cook his meal and bear his wife? Undoubtedly things hadn't kicked off on a conjugal note, but now her heart was heavy with grief, anger and feelings of being cheated and treated like a fool? |

'spare me that attitude, you know why am here' Daisy said angrily. 'really, and what might that be?' Brenda asked drily, her gaze on her backturned hand as she admired her manicured nails. 'would you stop with the fronting! You pissing me off already' 'oh yeah, more than you've not done already!' Brenda shouted. 'lets talk about it then, that's why am here!' 'don't you think its a bit late for that' 'it wouldn't be, if you had picked my calls!' 'and you wouldn't be making those calls nor would i be picking them, if you hadn't bounded off with that dumb ass dude, leaving me alone with that b.itch!' 'don't tell me she beat you black and blue?' Daisy teased. 'you've got a problem, you know that?' 'does that mean she did?' Daisy teased yet again. 'that's it! When you're ready to apologise, you can call me' Brenda said standing up, Daisy stood up also and hurried towards her. 'don't be such a spoilt brat, i was only kidding', she pleaded while Brenda eyed her. 'okay, okay, her royal majesty wants an apology, and her loyal subject is here to tender one' Daisy said, then softly she added: 'Bree, am deeply sorry okay? I know i acted in the dumbest of ways back then, but i couldn't help it, and you staying angry at me, is tearing me to pieces, just smile for once at a poor annoying Daisy, will you?' 'no i wont!' she said crossing her arms on her chest like a sulky child. 'just smile already' Reluctantly, Brenda broke into a smile. 'just because its you, now come here you pest' she said and drew Daisy close for a hug. 'i missed you bunch' she added 'missed you too, don't ever try this again, atleast not in Nigeria' Daisy said breaking off the embrace, Brenda smiled. 'but you gotta apologise for keeping me waiting too, else it would be my turn to go angry' 'oh, puleaseee don't be such a ninny, you don't expect me to come running to you, do you?' she said sitting down, 'besides i was fixing my nails' she added brandishing her nails. 'see' 'oh gosh you didn't! Kept me waiting just to polish that?' Daisy asked feigning anger, then moved to her sit. 'it was worth the wait, wasn't it?' Brenda chuckled 'whatever' Daisy replied and sat down. 'wait a minute! I love that colour! And I need that as a peace offering' she added excitedly. 'why should i be the one flying the palms?' 'because you're the one with all the stuffs' Daisy said. 'okay, okay Mercy will get you one. But know they are designer polish' 'you wouldn't opt for something less, would you? So no P. I will treat 'em accordingly' Daisy winked. 'then again, I've been dying with this curiosity, you know?' she added. 'ever heard? Curiosity kills the cat?' 'yeah, but am no cat' Daisy said while she busied with her juice. 'don't tell me you're still sprung on that' Brenda was pointing at the juice. 'sure! Take my juice, take my life' Daisy smiled and downed a mouthful. 'so about my curiosity, how did that fight at the club end?' she asked dropping her glass. 'don't kill the fun puleaseee, that chick is so damn crazy' 'she beat you up?' 'like that's ever gonna happen, dem peeps at the club, were by our side and prevented a major surgery happening on her pretty face' 'what a waste' 'so i thought. Would have given her a piece of my action regardless. Then i searched for her who i was fighting for, and voila she had slipped through the crowd!' 'sorry about that, i was feeling so weak and...' 'and you had to leave with that irritable dude for jeez sake!' 'he was the available then' Brenda scoffed, 'spare me that shit, all of 'em are just nothing but trouble wondering why you had to get entangled with them lots' Daisy didn't like where the discussion was now headed, she frowned and picked up her juice. 'so?' what exactly is that chick to him?' 'who?' 'who else' Brenda said drily 'he told me she is an ex' 'pretty clinging ex, don't you think' 'well, that's normal' 'unless, they aren't really ex' 'That's what he told me' 'still the naive little Daisy i see' 'I don't like what you're insinuating' 'truth is a bitter pill. Me thinks that dude's been tripping all along, while you hide at home, sipping Juice and doing whatever'. Daisy grimaced, you had to give it to Brenda to turn a happy moment into gloom with her blunt truth and unsolicited insinuations. 'Bree, I'd really appreciate it if you didn't go any further with all these you're saying' 'whatever. Am sorry for hitting those sensitive cords hunh' Brenda winked and Daisy stuck out her tongue and eyed her, this made Brenda laugh. This were the heights of their friendship - the teasing and the taunting, Daisy was a queen at it, she should just as well reciprocate. 'honestly Daisy, six months and still counting, yet that ex of a girl is still strung on your man?' a scoff 'your naiveity is indeed charming' Brenda teased further. |
****** Daisy was now seated comfortably in the living room of the Omenuche's. She glanced around for the second time since she arrived, it wasn't as if she hadn't been here before, it was just that she couldn't get enough of the exquisite decorated room. Everywhere reeked of wealth and class, from the Italian cushion to the marble tiles, to the glassy tables and the master piece pottery, even the clock encrested in a golden frame, she was sure worth millions. But the amazing thing about it all, is that this was just one out of the four parlours in the house, as Brenda had told her this particular one was used to entertain general visitors, another one she had sighted before going up to Brenda's room the last time she came was used for 'special' visitors, Brenda had also added that her father had his private parlor for entertaining 'VVVIP' as she had succinctly put it, and hardly visited the other parlours except 'some' persons came calling. Where the fourth was, she couldn't say, it was probably a special family bonding parlour. Daisy had widen her eyes in shock and amazement then, she didn't know peeps lived this big in Nigeria, although she had known Brenda to be from an affluent background, but was still shocked at the rare display of wealth. It was totally in opposition to her rough and disorganized background, for her parents hadn't being exceptionally rich, just your normal middle class separated family and she had gone through school basically by her efforts, giving up a lot to be where she was today - a marriage that was still grappling with stability, life could be so unfair sometimes. Daisy concluded with a sigh. 'she will be with you shortly' a voice spoke now startling her out of her reverie and self pity. 'oh, okay...thanks' she replied smiling. It was the house attendant which Brenda had previously introduced to her as Mercy. 'can i get you anything as you wait?' 'as i wait? wouldn't she be out soon enough?' 'I can't say about that, but...' 'that's okay, juice will be just perfect' 'okay. Please excuse me' Mercy said, curtised and left. 'phew!' Daisy said, her mind wandering again. Brenda was the only real friend she'd had back then in Boston, that is, apart from mama and Peter. There meeting had been under well, 'abnormal' circumstances. They had met at the African restaurant where she worked. Brenda had been in signature elements, complaining and shouting about the meal she had been served, threatening Fire and brimstone on the restaurant, the manager and security guards had been trying to calm her down in futility. Then the sous-chef had put her on the task, saying that since Brenda was Nigerian, then maybe she could be able to talk some sense into the raging lady out there. True to his word, Brenda had calmed immediately when Daisy came into the picture, she had been irked by the fact that she wasn't served what she had ordered, Daisy had personally seen to it. That had somehow struck a bond between them, because consequently when Brenda came calling, she would refuse to be served by anyother but her, and if she wasn't on duty then, she would simply leave. Her colleagues would tease her about her 'iron lady' friend then. Daisy smiled, Brenda was a natural at being aggressive and sassy. Subsequently, they found out that they were studying in the same college though Brenda was a year ahead. While she had been a fresher studying nursing, Brenda had been a sophomore studying Business management & they had just stuck like beans in a pod, Bffs in every abbreviated word of it. Brenda had also been another major push towards the continuation of her education then, she had helped her overcome the grief threatening to engulf her after her misfortunes. Now she counted her a worthy part of her life, like mama was, so she couldn't even bear to hold a grudge against her, much less break up their friendship over some silly affair. 'your juice ma' Mercy said as she came in bearing a tray with a pack of juice and a glass cup. 'thanks' 'you're welcome' she replied and set the tray on a side stool, then shifted it closer to Daisy and walked out. Daisy glanced towards the clock now, if she was right, then 30 minutes had slipped by. The time was twenty minutes to one and Brenda was yet to surface! What was wrong with the chick? Standing her up for no damn reason! She was definitely gonna hear from her when she surfaced, fight or no fight! She concluded and got busy with the Juice when Brenda walked in. 'you wanted to see me?' she asked casually and stared at Daisy, her gaze unsmiling. 'don't be tripping girl, you're not the queen you know' Daisy replied angrily, abandoning her earlier act. 'hmm, so i hear' Brenda replied ever so casually and unremorseful, then walked to a seat directly opposite Daisy, 'so, what brings you here' she added and sat down. Daisy sighed and stared askance at her. |
