PoliticsRe: Arewa Think Tank Commends Tinubu’s Lithium, Solid Minerals Revolution by PrincessDiana: 11:18pm On Aug 26, 2025
The confidence with which some of you agbado people lie on the Internet is second to none.
Congratulations! You are building the future of your linage.

It clearly states here that this administration built the first lithium processing plant in Nasarawa. Which is OBVIOUSLY a blatant, bold faced lie!

"The Northern group, Arewa Think Tank (ATT) has wholeheartedly commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration for its groundbreaking initiatives in the solid minerals sector, particularly the lithium revolution.

A statement by the Convener of Arewa Think Tank, Muhammad Alhaji Yakubu said this bold move marks a significant shift in Nigeria’s economic trajectory, ensuring that the natural resources are harnessed for the benefit of the people.

“The establishment of Nigeria’s first lithium processing plant in Nasarawa State, along with several other factories across the country, demonstrates President Tinubu’s administration’s commitment to value addition and local beneficiation."
zero8zero:
Your problem is lack of proper Education. You seem not to know the meaning of the word " initiative" and that's your problem. No one is saying Buhari did not commission a Lithium plant or that Buhari does not deserve credit. But we are talking about an initiative of the current administration that's helping to revolutionize the sector. Tinubu says unprocessed lithium must not be exported and that's an executive order. Buhari did not say that during his tenure. This group are commending Tinubu for making the processing of our raw materials a priority which was not the case in the past. Anyways, people with average understanding or less are plenty on the internet.

I won't bandy words with you. See the link above. Same with Nasarawa state.
Stop spreading falsehood.
Anyways..ti iron ba lo ni ogun ogun...

Weldone o, Lithium is PMB's project, you should have even said it was Buhari that created Lithium, maybe Buhari also created Gold and other mineral resources in the country 🤣🤣. So a Govt cannot come and have its own initiatives in every sector?. Take for instance, this initiative of banning exportation of raw lithium, was it Buhari's initiative?. Park well abeg.

Which lithium initiative? Something that was PMB's project!
I wonder how some Nigerians sleep at night peddling falsehood.

PoliticsRe: Nigeria’s FX Reserves Rise To $41Billion, Highest Since 2021 by PrincessDiana: 11:22am On Aug 22, 2025
A graph speaks better than a thousand words.

The reserves of Nigeria and other countries include their holdings of foreign currencies and gold. These are the reserves of the central bank and the treasury of the country, not the private sector.

When countries export products or attract investment from other countries, they receive foreign currencies. They use some of these currencies to buy imports and to invest in other countries. The rest is held in reserves and some of the reserves may be converted to gold.
Definition: Total reserves comprise holdings of monetary gold, special drawing rights, reserves of IMF members held by the IMF, and holdings of foreign exchange under the control of monetary authorities. The gold component of these reserves is valued at year-end (December 31) London prices. Data are in current U.S. dollars.

I wonder why Olu of Warri & Mrs. Adejoke Adefulire would lend their voices to such deception.

PoliticsRe: Ibom Air Assault Case Not Same As KWAM 1 Incident, Says NCAA by PrincessDiana: 3:08am On Aug 13, 2025
Thanks for taking the time to write all that. Unfortunately, many Nigerians don't understand basic terms of engagement.
"Customer is always right", is a basic tenet to help us quickly know where issues should tilt more towards. After this, I can never ever fly Ibom Air even if they are the only airline. I have now developed a phobia for their agbero mentally. It is even more worrisome that the management still went ahead to throw her in jail and never saw how she was manhandled by their staff as wrong.

I was really glad to find the NBA standing behind her.

jjbest123:
On Ibom Air, same opinion as with Value Jet.

If you lack what it takes to be a professional and escalate or de-escalate issues without devolving into caveman antics or relying on your brute force or emotional outburst, then get out of professional spaces.

Two wrongs can never make a right.

Sometimes I get severely provoked by people I have to deal with and what I do is to take a step back and immediately escalate to a superior.

You cannot hold an individual hostage when you do not have the authorities to arrest or detain people.

If the issue had been ongoing and had been escalated to AvSec, the lady didn’t need to be held hostage or even arrested on the plane, anywhere on the airport grounds is sufficient to pull her aside and have a word with her. You can also reach out to her afterwards using the manifest if you do not have the powers to arrest people.

Not sure if the air hostess or air hostesses in general are given the authority to conduct citizen arrests when they are given their cute little skirts and ish but just like the pilot that left the cockpit to come and have a one-on-on with Wasiu, most of these issues are arising either because people do not know where to draw the professional line and where to stand (otherwise known over here as “above my paygrade”); or they have zero conflict resolution skills.

Also, was that lady stripped?

Lol.

Anyway, let us focus on the professionals that took a minute or two to act like agberos, are you all willing now to have a conversation about how and why professionals should have a rein on their emotions and watch their reactions in public?

Whatever the issue was was not properly de-escalated when it started; and that was why it spilled into that embarrassing show of shame - a flying passenger is a customer and should not be treated with condescension just because.

If they refused to turn off their phones or switch it to flight mode; then the aircraft should not have taken off until they were removed from it or if the decision was made to fly to destination with them and then remove them there, AvSec should have been waiting for the plane upon arrival and done the detention and arrest themselves so they can let her know what offense she was being held for BEFORE going ahead to detain her.

Anyway, hopefully she has good lawyers or will get good lawyers.

Ibom Air and its representatives were highly unprofessional.

What is wrong with Aviation in Nigeria this August sef?

PS: Are we still switching off phones to board flights? What is the “flight mode” option for? In this day and age where we can hold full blown conversations with our people who are flying long haul, a woman got stripped by an airline staff for not “switching off her phone”?

Lol!

PPS: Seriously people should know how to determine what is within and above their paygrade and refuse to involve themselves in anything above or below your paygrade; or not in your job description. I have said it here before: do YOUR job (when in doubt, check your job description), get paid, go home.

That’s all.

It is when you overstep the boundaries of your JD that you make all of these gaffes and expose yourself to the risk of losing the job you were trying to do too much to get noticed on.

SportsRe: $100,000 Prizes: When Too Much Is Inadequate by PrincessDiana: 1:31am On Aug 08, 2025
Let's not mix apples and onions. There is already a price money of $1,000,000 for the winners and $500,000 for runner up of WAFCON.
What you quoted for the CONCAF is the price money, not an unbudgeted sum gifted out of magnamity.
Let's all learn how to make sure our public officials adhere to rules and processes. These monies was not budgeted for.

CoreWaveMedia:

Everyone just wants to sound smart. Do you remember when super eagles or so travelled and were stranded and we were raining fire and brimstone on the NFF. Now the Presidency has done right and we are still complaining.

The reward is not for them alone, it's to encourage young people to aspire to do the same and secondly what you see at the competition is a culmination of years of hard work and the competition is the crowning moment.

In the US the winner of CONCAF gets $1,000,000 and there are still homeless people.

Even the Bible said the poor will always remain with you.

So let the girls enjoy their victory, it was well earned.

After seeing how much they earned, even me as a guy started checking out basketball pitches in my area.

Customs will be the death of this country.
Until they destroy Nigeria patapata they will not rest.
A recent experience I had with them convinced me that they have an agenda to subtly bring down this administration.
Customs is the primary driver of inflation in present day Nigeria.
PoliticsRe: Hard Times: Lamentations As Rice Price Rises To N100, 000 Again by PrincessDiana: 12:29pm On Jul 27, 2025
Nice story sir!
But it all sounds like Tales By Moonlight if such officers are not named. If your friend had taken down the names of such officers, their locations and dates that all these happened, then someone in government might step in. White people come here and they document being asked for bribes.
Whereas we Nigerians never call out corrupt people directly.
We all talk about corruption as if the people involved are ghosts.

Until we learn to name and shame these people, I doubt if we can say we ready for a new Nigeria.

TallNigerian:
If only we understand that the common Nigerian is the major weapon fashioned against this country, maybe we may begin to realize how almost irredeemable this country has become.

A family friend of mine had a terrible experience with Nigeria Custom Service officers along the Idiroko axis sometimes last month (June 2025). He had gone to purchase 4 bags of rice at N45,000 each (this was a mutual funding by four neighbours) and was returning when he was intercepted by NCS officers, they searched and then released him to go. He had not driven up to 3 minutes when he noticed the NCS officers chasing him with motorbikes. He stopped and they said they were instructed to seize the bags of rice. They eventually did and this family friend had to contact another friend who is a Superintendent of Customs. The SC told him to return to the post where the bags were seized so he can speak to the officers, but upon arriving there, he was told the bags have been moved to the custom warehouse.

He proceeded to the warehouse where they denied receiving such item that day. After so much back and forth, my friend became frustrated and abandoned the recovery process. Somehow, he later learnt that the same people he bought the rice from were the ones colluding with the NCS officers to seize the rice, thereby spiking the price gradually.

Nigeria's problem is beyond Tinubu, Obi or Atiku. Nigerians are fantastically corrupt. It will take the Chinese style of executing corrupt officials and citizens for some normalcy to be restored in the way we conduct ourselves.
EducationRe: Why Should Eksu Charge ₦125,000 For Original Certificate Collection By Afolabi O by PrincessDiana: 5:40pm On Jul 24, 2025
While some people might agree with you, I believe it is all shades of wrong for a school to claim they graduate you without handing over your certificate immediately.
This is the way things are done in this country. Schools (both public and private), will hold convocation ceremonies without handing over certificates on that day. They know that students will likely revolt any arbitrary fees/cost imposed at that stage, so they just hand you a piece of nonsensical paper and wait at the student admin for each student to come slug it out.

This is one of the things the student union is for. But nobody seems to understand their duties anywhere in Nigeria.
Until the citizens understand how important it is for them to complain as a group, nothing will change anywhere.

triplechoice:
The 125k may include the penalty for not collecting it on time , the yearly cost for keeping it safe and other sundry charges .

Most states university in Nigeria have placed a penalty for not collecting your certificate on time . If you failed to collect your certificate after 10 years be sure that you be required to pay close to that amount or even more.

So, find out first why they're charging that amount before castigating the university.

This here is what I see as the problem with us Nigerians.
It is illegal to do this because once such precedence is started, it could easily give way to impunity and other unsavoury things over time.
This is how we wreck our own system.

See what happened with court judgements now imposing political representatives rather than free and fair elections.
There is a reason why the people that created the democratic system of governance practice it with so many guidelines.

Everyone conveniently forget about Covid-19 and War In Ukraine and how these events devastated world economy. We made no money from oil for over one year, yet the decisions PMB's government took prevented the country from totally collapsing.
Countries were starving during these times and economies were collapsing. But we remained food sufficient.

May Allah forgive those who are deliberately twisting the narrative for political gains.

Well, you are right, but that has nothing to do with the Jubril of Sudan CT 😁 but more to do with Nigeria's international isolation due to the lack of ambassadorial representation in all countries.
Normally, such condolences are passed on to the ambassador but in this case we have none anywhere.
It shows Nigeria has no respect for nor need cooperation with other countries.
Very sad how this country is currently being run. We are increasingly isolated.

Actually Electricity has not improved. They are only robbing Peter to pay Paul.
The Bands A people have drastically reduced usage and what they are not using is now available to others that have also cut down usage. Many areas hardly see Electricity now because the Discos no longer need to provide for everyone. They simply cash out from Band A users.
It's the deceptive nature of this government that bother me the most.

Some of you forget that Tinubu has been around for just two years. And in that 2 years electricity supply has improved tremendously.

They are just scapegoating Mr.Emefiele.
The man was CEO of Zenith Bank for several years; CBN governor for 10 years, yet you mean he couldn't afford to build this estate for sale?
Nigerians are the main reason their politicians are so wicked. They lack common sense. Nobody has proven Mr. Emefiele stole anything, yet they want to sell off his property.
With everything the man did for this nation!

Well, I have ceased feeling sorry for Nigerians. They are pure haters!
This is why the people that ultimately get elective office lack empathy. They know that, no matter how you stand up for Nigerians, no matter what you do for the nation, Nigerians will never have your back or defend you.
