PhonesRe: Jumia Vs Konga by princessmiaize: 8:51am On Apr 12, 2015
Been using Jumia almost 2yrs now. And last year, I decided to try Konga out too. I'll be as honest as possible, especially since I've experienced bad days with both.

Range of Products: Jumia has a wider range of products. Konga doesnt.

Website design: jumia's website is more user-friendly n even more attractive than Konga.

Customer service: jumia has the worst customer service. Konga feels more personal n almost friendly unlike the detached, slow to respond to requests attitude of jumia.

Product quality: I don't know if they don't have quality assurance team, but both sites delivered almost-expired grocery items. (Hair product from jumia, chocolates from konga).

Delivery packaging: konga's packing is definitely the best. They even use bubble-wrap for some items dat culd break.

Pay on delivery: I've heard reports that jumia doesn't do pay on delivery to certain states unlike Konga.

Delivery charge: for residents in PH, we pay 1000 for delivery from Konga, but Jumia delivers with 750naira.

Delivery time: jumia delivers as fast as 2days after order is placed. I get my items 8days max. Konga has never delivered my products on time. My 1st experience, I placed the order December 16. Didn't get the products till January 23. And I called severally for the location. I almost placed another order.i assumed it was the traffic of the holiday season, but my next order took 2nhalf weeks to arrive too.

Online payment: do not pay online wit jumia! I have always used pay on delivery. So this year, decided I could trust dem with my money, 1st order was good... 2nd was terrible, so was d 3rd n 4th. My advice: Always pay on delivery. My money got stuck with them 3 orders in a row. N didn't get refund until almost 2months later. I paid online on Konga just once, so I can't give much details on that.

Prices: I have seen one or two products on jumia that were actually cheaper than same products in konga. However, most products are generally cheaper on Konga than Jumia.

Vouchers: jumia sales are way more advanced. You get free discount vouchers almost every 2wks or less. I havnt gotten a single discount voucher from konga. Except for 2000naira for your NEXT purchase but only for your first order ABOVE 20k from the app.
(for jumia, when you download the app, you can use the voucher immediately for that first order above 5k).

All in all: I still love jumia. Would go with them anytym I can't find a product on Konga. Plus, compare prices of products from Konga and jumia before u hit that 'buy' button. Most sellers, sell on both jumia and konga. Wen I need something, fast, I get from jumia. Even if the price is a bit high, the voucher can cover the extra costs plus delivery charge. Just won't use online payment EVER AGAIN!
