abujaniv: Hello princessrbt,
The Consular Officer may ask to see your passport data page, but if this is just for a tourist visa, she will not need an affidavit of support.
Regards, Abuja NIV Team Thanks so much for your response. Yes it's just a tourist visa and since she'll not need an affidavit of support, does she need any document to show we are the one (my husband and I)sponsoring her traveling? If yes, what does she need? Also do we need to send all the document she'll need to the embassy? Thanks. |

Hello VO,
My husband and I live in US and we are trying to invite my mom over to spend few months with us. My question is do I have to send the supporting documents like invitation letter, both my husband and I' data passport page, affidavit of support to the embassy too? Since all these will be sent to my mom as well for her to take along to the interview.
Thanks |

PrinceAdeAde: I think another way to circumvent all these horrible POE experience would be to board a connecting international flight and have your POE at the connecting point. I believe they may be unable to delay you beyond a reasonable time due to your connecting flights on the airline Airlines usually come looking for their passengers to avoid delay and refunds as the delay is not your fault
Just thinking this may help except someone had an experience faulting the above assumptions I don't think airlines have the time to look for passaengers, the best they can do is to keep calling your name at the gate and I doubt if you can hear while youre at the inspection area and they dont have to refund you, all they do is book you for the next available flight. |

temmytanny: normal charges is 4k but birth tru c n s is extra 1k.your package covers some lab tests but not all,I think just 2lab tests.it doesn't cover epidural. They accept new patients all the time provided you make your payments before delivery. For c n s, please budget 6500$ @temmytanny, plz does your friend had an appointment with JPS before coming or what paper work did she show at POE if she did show any |

Dzizz: abeg teamtanny, how much exactly is it for normal delivery and planned CS at JPS. U mentioned $4k and $5k respectively. Are these amounts just only the hospital's charges for delivery or for everything including OBGYN, Paed fees, lab work, epidural? How much grand total do i budget for an elective CS? Also after how many weeks of pregnancy do they stop accepting a new patient. Please reply and help a sister @dzizz, JPS package is actually btw 4-4.5k for virginal delivery and 5-5.5k for CS and it includes all doc's visit, 2 sonograms, 1 emergency visit, 1 pediatrician visit cant rem others if these are not all.it doesnt include anesthesia and some other. Their form states what the package includes and what it does not. |

ashleybaker: @Santa2: How come your friend spent $4,500 in John Peters when I got this quote from them. Hmmmmm!!!!!! Hi, thank you for your email. I would like to provide any information you are asking so if I fail to answer your questions, please do not hesitate to reply with any additional requests. Here are some estimated charges, that should be regarded as estimates based on previous charges for a delivery at JPS Health Network and not necessarily what charges would be after a delivery.
Non-Emergent Normal Vaginal Delivery - $8,000 to $15,000 – does not include doctor, anesthesia, radiology, prenatal care or baby Non-Emergent Caesarian Delivery - $15,000 to $20,000 – does not include doctor, anesthesia, radiology, prenatal care or baby Newborn Baby - $6,000 – does not include intensive care or care provided outside of newborn nursery
Thank you again for your question, please let me know if I can help any further.
James Smith
@Ashleybaker, you both are right. if you inquire through email, the response you get is the email you got, but if you call and ask for their Ob pack, they.will tell you it's $4500. I got thesame huge amount too when I inquire through email. |

tyty24: Thank you so much princessrbt. I eventually called the hospital and these were the chargesgiven to me by Shannon.
hospital bill-2000 USD. lab test ranges between 100-200 USD.
But she (Shannon) told me to ask someone based in the city to book an appointment for me. Requested from my cousin if she could assist in doing so but she seems to be busy with school/exams.
I 'm really running out of time because I'm yet to get a letter from the hospital and also contact a doctor.
I intend to leave for US mid Sept. I know I will need these documents/info at the POE.
so please how can you assist. @tyty24, I guess we need to talk privately because am gonna need your details if am gonna do that. |

Mrsfad2014: Hello House, I sent a mail to Dr La at WHMC and got a reply that his fee is $3400 excluding pediatric and some other things. I feel that's too much, can anyone in the house help me with any other good Doctor that will not charge this much in WHMC. Thanks @Mrsfad2014, is WHMC your last option? If not and if you don't mind going to Dallas, Matlock ObGyn in Arlington Dallas charge $2000 for gynecologist and btw $100-$200 for sonogram/test. Also, what do you mean by self catering studio in one of you previous post. |

tyty24: Hi people, I have followed the message threads and I would like to thank everyone who has contributed positively to this forum. But I have sone few concerns and I need some urgent suggestions. I applied while single for a B1/B2 non immigrant visa un 2012 and I was issued a 2 year visa which will be expiring in december this year. I got married last year and I'm 5 months pregnant will be due in nov. I travelled in may this year and returned in june with no hassles. Let me go straight to the point.I intend to have my first baby in the US. but is it advisable I still use my valid visa and make my intentions known when I get to the POEand I present my marriage certificate to them or should I renew my visa? I will be residing in arlington Dallas. does anyone have any idea of an affordable hospital and a doctor one can contact for gynae. @tyty24, I don' know if this is still useful. However, matlock OBGYN charge $2000 for gyne, sonogram is btw $100-200 depending on the numbers of sonogram, and hospital bill is $3300. |
