99thEnemy: I see why you think there is no gain, but that isn't correct.
Profit is calculated per transaction, not based on the very first purchase. First deal: bought at $60, sold at $70 making $10 profit
Second deal: bought at $80, and sold at $90 to make $10 profit
Each sale brings in $10, so the total profit is $20.
The fact that the second buy was higher than the first is irrelevant, what matters is how much was made at each sale.
To make it clearer:
Imagine you have two shops in different places.
In Shop A, you have $60. You buy a goat for $60 and sell it for $70 making $10 profit. The money stays in Shop A.
Later, in Shop B, you have $80. You see the same goat with a trader and buy it for $80, then resell it for $90 which is another $10 profit.
In all, you’ve done business with the same goat twice and earned $20 profit overall. Thanks it is now cleared. |

The man mentored pastors like pat Adeboye, pat Oyedepo, pat Mike okonkwo, pat Awunzia and many more.
His life vindicates the calling that God's work is not a business.
After his death there was a tossle over who would lead the church. His wife won a court dispute and took over the church.
While the ministers moved out. But Looking at the church of God Mission the glory has departed. Why would the Curt rules in favor of his wife? The church is not a family busines, supposed redeem church leader then handed over to the family maybe the same fate would have falling on them too. |

Profit is $20 But there was an inflation along the lines, so which is going to pay for the difference. Remember this is $10 dollars increase in his second purchase? |

lezan: $20 cause the initial investment were is money and whatever on it on both occasions becomes interests, forget the grammer of he buys it again. The moment he sold the first time, it was no longer his, the transaction ended that instance. The next time he went to to market , priced changed and he still made profit after selling second time. So total profits made is $20, no more no less What are you saying sir, that I used my former gain add it up to buy back, so what is my gain? Remember this time the price have changed. In fact if I removed my expenses, I will have nothing left with me. But on the book I can just say I have made ten dollars since I have decided to sell it at $90 . |
This is Accounting, not Mathematics $20. Explanation: First trade: Bought for $60, sold for $70 → profit $10. Second trade: Bought back for $80, sold for $90 → profit $10. Total profit = $10 + $10 = $20 (ignoring any other costs
You're wrong sir, yes he made 10 buks on his first purchased, but he added the ten bucks because of the inflation to buy it back at 80 then selling it for 90. So he is only making Ten dollars only instead of 20. So had it been he still buys it at 70 then he will be making $20 altogether. It is actually a very logic question. |

99thEnemy: $20 profit
First, he buys the goat for $60 and sells it for $70 making a $10 profit
Then, he buys it back for $80 and sells it again for $90 which is another $10 profit
Adding both profits we get $2
Don't forget to look at the two buy/sell as transactions of different pairs oh! Hmm but you fail to understand that he is now buying it back higher than the first purchased, so I don't think he is making any gain from it. |

Politics › Re: Nigerian Civil War: How I Survived Execution By Nigerian Soldiers - Nwaojobo by Princewell2012(m): 4:51pm On Aug 10, 2025 |
Focusmind: Most Igbo men in their 70s and 80s have stories of their respective civil war era. My own father, 80 now, trekked from Calabar to Umuahia and to Ogidi, in Anambra state, just to escape the federal troops that were indiscriminately shooting at young men. The war should have been avoided. I agreed that the Igbos felt unsafe after the 1966 counter coup but don't rule out Ojukwu's ego in the whole episode. If someone else was the military administrator of the Eastern Region, the war may not have happened. Leaders and their decisions are sometimes shaped by their personality and character. That war should not have happened. All peaceful options were not followed and ojukwu was in a haste to secede and Gowon was in a haste to thwart Ojukwu's plan.
Eastern region was grossly ill prepared for the war and under estimated the ability of the federal government to engage British and Soviet government to their side, ensuring regular supply of high- calibre munition. But Ojukwu was busy sending young men to battle field with three rounds of ammunition rifles, den guns and "cock and shoot" rifles to face people, armed to the teeth with the latest AK 47, backed by MiG fighter jets, the most sophisticated jet of that era. Sometimes, I wished that Majors Ifeajuna and Victor Banjo had succeeded in their internal plan to overthrow Ojukwu and restarted negotiations with Lagos. You don't fight wars with emotions, especially, when you are grossly under armed. Even the great negotiations Professors Kenneth Dike, Eni Njoku and Eyo Ita concluded with the French government for support to Biafra was trashed by Ojukwu as he felt that the agreement ceded the control of Biafra to the French, making him, Ojukwu, to loose his relevance. You have to be diplomatic to get what you want, even if it means conceding some grounds. When Ojukwu eventually agreed to certain proposals by the French to supply arms, the Biafran armed forces was already degraded and posed no major challenge to the federal forces. This is the reason why the Biafran army was more of resistant fighting force than an attacking fighting force. Hmm God bless you my brother you really makes lots of sense here and I concur with you, then again in life you don't always defends you also attack, and the worst of it is always running from the enemies. I like watching najeolife that is animals documentary, a single lion can Chase a hundred of or thousands of other animals, sometimes I asked myself you guys are more in numbers can't you wait and fight back, I believe the lion's will not be able to over power all of them. Now two things I learned from this narrative here was that, the Igbos were not fully prepared for the war, it seems the Nigerians soldiers bursts into them unaware, otherwise why would there be a market when the war have already started? 2 The villages knows the retain of the their vicinities, so you could get an upper hand in fighting the strangers, even if the enemies have sophisticated weapons, just target one or two and collect his weapon, believe me you could conquer them or chase them away. But when you are grips with fear without a fighting spirit, then your life is in danger, they will run after you and get rid of all of you. According to the Bible the Philistines were threatening Isreal on the daily basis until the day David cut off the head of Goliath, the rest of the Philistines soldiers flee but the confidence of the Israeli increase. Again like you said earlier on you don't fight war with emotion you have to plan for it even the Bible are in support of these. Happy Sunday. |

PulaPower: “Before the civil war, there was another local war between the people of Enugu-Ezike in the present Igboeze North Local Government Area, and its border town neighbour, Ofante in Kogi State. The war preceded the civil war. During that war, the Ofante people killed our war hero, Ogbu Nwugbabe from Aji, Enugu Ezike. Ogbu Nwugbabe had what we now call ‘Odieshi’, an antidote for dane guns which was in vogue then. It was used in fighting the Ofante war. He was our war commander.
Ogbu Nwugbabe had killed an Ofante man, whose son was a Nigerian soldier. So, the son of the Ofante man returned home with his military rifle and joined his native people in the battle field and shot several of Enugu Ezike people including Ogbu Nwugbabe who, it was believed, could not be killed with any gun. They later brought his headless corpse to the then District Officer, DO, at Nsukka, where it was confirmed that the bullet that felled him was from a military rifle. Shortly after his killing, the local war ended and the Nigeria – Biafra civil war started.
You’ll never see Igbos mentioning how they started killing Nigerians. They are always acting as if they didn’t kill Nigerians.. This man who is an eye witness have told us his own side of the story, you too can open another thread and tell us how the Igbos killed the Nigerians soldiers during the war. Case closed. |

lawyer: For years i have been warning people about these fraudulent estates, especially here on Nairaland. Many people bought these estates without verifying them and listening to agents who push them to buy these wayo lands and houses without documentation, without good titles, properties with no valid excision, no certificate of occupancy, no valid government allocation and no proper layout.
I have verified almost half of these estates listed above and I have the evidence that these lands and estates don't have good titles and documentation to pass to people. I have called them out severally and they have resorted to insults, threats and abuse to try and stop me. These people have stolen billions of Naira from Nigerians selling wayo lands and houses to people and today, God don catch them!
These wayo real estate companies pushed people to buy these lands with serious pressure, such as 'If you don't buy now, the price will increase tomorrow' or ' so many people are on the land. If you don't buy now, you will lose out. You better pay now now'. The only thing they were concerned about is their commission and huge payout and after so many years, many of them don't have allocation or refund of their money. Instead, they have used subscribers' money to flex, pop champagne in clubs, travel to Dubai and Qatar, pay their children's school fees abroad with other people's money and not give them good lands.
Many families have lost their life savings to these wicked companies selling only receipts as lands and cashing out with no empathy. You go to their office to complain and they will be giving you different excuses and lies to prevent you from collecting your money back. Now Lagos state has intervened and wahala has set in. If you know you paid one of these wayo companies listed above, just know you don't have any land. Your money has entered voice mail.
Go and collect your refund now, they will disappear like CBEX people. These people are wayo scammers. They sell lands and houses with no documentation and expect people to sit down and forget the lands and houses they illegally collected money. For those who intend to buy lands and houses in Lagos especially in that Ajah, Ibeju Lekki and Epe areas, shine your eyes and verify these properties, unless you will cry blood and nobody will pity you. Avoid these scammers. Many of them are selling land with no good documentation. Don't be their next victim. Verify that land now or call Omonilelawyer to help you verify it. Hmm but why is the Lagos government realizing it now? |
