Antoine Devon Pettis, from Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA, was tracked down through DNA evidence and arrested for allegedly breaking into the home of a 101-year-old and then raping her after finding her in bed, The Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel reports.

According to Bloomberg, Jay Z is yet to reach a music licencing agreement with Sony, the coporation which owns much of his wife's catalogue.

The article further asserts that when the Roc Nation boss bought Tidal's Norwegian parent company Aspiro, he renegotiated streaming contracts of the three major record companies: Universal, Warner, and Sony.

Jay Z then scored a fast deal with Universal, which distributes the music of some of artists within Jay Z's own record label Roc Nation; while a source claimed he has recently just agreed to a streaming rights deal with Warner.

Sony though, is asking for 'huge advances' for permission to stream its artists' music - which includes all five of Beyonce's studio albums.

Bloomberg claims that Jay Z may have been counting on an investment deal with US mobile giant Sprint to cover these costs.

The rap mogul held extensive talks with its parent company, Japanese venture capital firm SoftBank, at the time of his Aspiro deal.

Nduka Ugbade, the Assistant Coach of Nigeria’s Flying Eagles on Saturday says his team is `battle-ready’ to conquer Brazil in their opening match of the ongoing World Cup in New Zealand.

Ugbade told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) from the tournament venue that the Eagles were ready as a team to win their opening match on June 1 against Brazil.

“All is set for our first match because wining an opening game will help us to set the pace for our subsequent outings at the competition.

“The players and goalkeepers are in `fantastic’ shape and all the technical crew are working round the clock to ensure that all goes down well,” he assured.

The competition commenced on May 30 will end on June 20.

For the longer term we have to improve the standards of our education. We have to look at the whole field of medicare. We have to upgrade our dilapidated physical infrastructure.

The most immediate is Boko Haram’s insurgency. Progress has been made in recent weeks by our security forces but victory can not be achieved by basing the Command and Control Centre in Abuja.

Soul singer Bez Idakula, Olympic gold medallist Chioma Ajunwa-Opara (MON) and other celebrities mentored pupils of Eko-Akete Senior Secondary School, Lagos Island in a two-day program last.

Students were mentored in turns at the event, organized by Sahara Group Foundation and Kasher Trading Company during the school's career awareness programme.

Ajunwa-Opara, who became the first Nigerian athlete to win an Olympic gold medal at the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta, harped on the importance of education.

The serving police officer revealed that she had "passed through intimidations, dehumanisation" in the past because of her low academic qualifications, being too poor to afford university education at the time.

“I urge you to combine education and sport so that you will have something to fall back on," she said.

"Some of us that left the international scene fell by the road side because we do not have our certificate.

"Today, my name is used to set exams, used to play quiz, all these are because of that sport I gave my all to".

She urged the students to take sports seriously and not " a waste of time."

Also admonishing the students, Idakula, said self-confidence and purpose are important in life.

"You need to understand that there is enough space for everyone to excel in life," Idakula said.

"If someone tries to show off himself before you, look out for something worth it to add to your own knowledge rather than brag with him.’’

A man who passes by the name DJ Andrews lost just about 125 pounds in the wake of getting a look of himself in the mirror at the shopping center.

A man who goes by the name DJ Andrews lost almost 125 pounds after catching a glimpse of himself at the mall. He told huffington post that “For years, I was overeating due to lack of nutritional understanding and depression. Growing up, I was always overweight. Coming from a small town in rural Georgia, health and fitness typically aren’t at the top of anyone’s priority list. As far back as I can remember, from age 4 or 5, I’d be given massive portions of very unhealthy foods and would get very little or no physical activity afterward. Years of this led to me reaching my all-time highest weight of a little over 320 pounds”

He added that the breaking point came when he saw his reflection in a sliding glass door at the mall. And he knew the time has come for him to change.

Andrews said that he was fed up and constantly unhappy. He said: “I decided to wake up early one morning in the fall of 2012 and go for a walk around my campus. I did that every single day afterward for almost two years. Walking the perimeter of campus three times is approximately 4.5 miles. I could barely do one mile at first, but I took my time and stayed consistent. The weight started coming off dramatically. Excited about the weight loss, I began changing my eating habits as well, and ate only things I cooked at home. Changing my eating habits plus walking really kicked my weight loss into high gear. Around late spring/early summer of 2013, I also started doing a lot of strength training to help tone up and build muscle. And by October 2013, a year since I’d started, I’d lost 100 pounds! I also began doing kettlebells, and then I completed the Insanity workout to maintain afterward.

He added that his life was different now he feels received by other people. He added that “Although I feel the same, but people are more welcoming to me. That may just be a self-esteem issue, or it could be because I’m actually interacting with others more than I used to. Before graduating last year, I started my own personal fitness group on campus and began helping others who are in the situation I was fortunate enough to break free from. I got a few other students who had seen me walking around campus and wanted to join, and we motivated each other to keep going. I also started a Facebook page dedicated to workout tips and recipes.

An Abuja Federal High Court on Wednesday nullified the certificate of return issued to a Benue Rep-elect, Christian Abah, for forging a Diploma of the Federal Polytechnic, Mubi.

In his judgment, Justice Adeniyi Ademola, held that the allegation of certificate forgery against Abah by the plaintiff, Mr Hassan Saleh, was true having been established by an election tribunal in 2011.

The judge held that an earlier judgment of the National/State Assembly Election Petition Tribunal, delivered on Sept. 6, 2011, affirmed that the certificate presented by Abah to INEC was forged.

He also said that a letter by the Registrar of the Federal Polytechnic, Mubi, Mr Suleiman Buba, affirmed that the certificate presented by Abah to INEC was forged.

The judge also declared all the votes that accrued to Abah in the PDP primaries held on Dec. 6, 2014, as wasted and also declared Saleh as winner of the election.

Justice Ademola, therefore, ordered INEC to issue a fresh certificate of return to Saleh, who had aspired for the position in the primary election before the PDP declared Abah unopposed.
The court also ordered the incoming Speaker of the ‎8th National Assembly to swear in Saleh as the member representing Ado/Okpokwu/Ogbadibo Federal ‎Constituency.

Ademola also ordered the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to nullify the certificate of return issued to....

The event which held on Saturday, hosted by MTV VJ Ehiz, had in attendance Emmanuel Ikubese, Sharon Ezeamaka and Timini Egbuson. DJs Humility and Neptune added colour to the night with their mixes.

The four-hour event featured a variety of exciting activities including free HIV testing and counselling, meet and greet sessions with the cast of the series, auditions for a presenter of the MTV Shuga 4 premiere red carpet as well as question and answers sessions bothering on topics around HIV and AIDS.

One of the high points of the evening was the painting of a portrait of popular reggae-dancehall singer, Patoranking, in five minutes by a 500 level student of Medicine and Surgery of the University of Lagos, Fola David. This shocked many of the students as Fola made the painting upside down, a style believed to be one of the most technical approaches to painting.

MTV also shot the video for Catch Me, the theme song of Shuga season 4 at the mini concert. The shoot had Patoranking, Ice Prince and Reminisce perform the song to the excited audience all of who swayed and sang along.

Patoranking also shocked many of the students when he handed over a Louis Vuitton jacket and shoes to one of the students, Austin Anyansi, a 200 level student of Sociology.

Reacting to the success of the mini festival, head of marketing and partnerships, MTV Shuga, Emmanuel Uduma, who spoke with journalists said, ‘We are very excited at how this turned out. The support was amazing and we are grateful to every one including the Super Star acts that contributed to the success of this event’.
