How long shall the sweat of the lowly water the garden of the mighty? Day after day, we rise before the sun and return home after it has slept. We carry the targets, we soothe the customers, we absorb the insults, we defend the brand, we close the deals, we drive the numbers. We are the engine room. We are the unseen hands. Yet among its peers, this organisation stands tallest in profit and loudest in performance — celebrated in boardrooms, applauded in reports, admired in the market. But beneath that shining crown lies a troubling truth: those at the foundation are fed crumbs from a table overflowing with abundance. The lower cadre — the foot soldiers of productivity — receive the least. Salaries that barely breathe. Welfare packages that whisper instead of speak. Benefits that cannot withstand inflation, transportation, rent, and the rising cost of simply surviving. We are told to be grateful. We are told to endure. We are told to “grow with the system.” But growth without nourishment is exhaustion. Meanwhile, management enjoys robust packages — generous allowances, bonuses wrapped in comfort, medical plans that heal swiftly, retreats that refresh generously. Their rewards expand in proportion to the very profits our sweat sustains. Is it justice that the weight is shared but the reward is not? Is it fairness that performance is collective but prosperity is selective? Is it ethical that the ladder stands firm on shoulders that are never allowed to climb? Morale weakens where equity is absent. Loyalty fades where value is unequal. Passion dries up where appreciation is symbolic instead of practical. We do not ask for luxury. We ask for dignity. We do not demand extravagance. We demand fairness. We do not envy leadership. We question imbalance. An organisation cannot build a sustainable future on underpaid strength. No empire thrives when its foundation is tired, unheard, and undervalued. Hear the cry of the workforce. Review the structure. Redistribute the reward. Let profitability translate into people-care. Because when those who carry the load are strengthened, the entire institution rises higher — not just in profit, but in principle.
