Literature / My Friend, My Friend. by profmba(m): 6:53pm On Oct 06, 2015
My Friend My Friend, If I Be Troubled Thou Knowest Not, If I Be Sick, Thou Bothers Not. Thou Art So Consumed With And In Thy Self, Thou Art Too Blind To See The Need Of Others ‘Other Than Yours, Thou Art So Conceited And Full Of Empty Pride.

Let It Be Told Thee That Thou Art A Piece Of Bread Soaked In Water, Let It Be Made Known That Thou Art An Empty Cymbal, An Egoistic One. Like A Thorn, Thou Bringest Me More Pain Than Pleasure, And Far From An Octet Structure Thou Lacks Stability.

Thou View-Est The World From An Elevated Platform, Thinking Thou Art Superior And We Inferior. Thou Art Too Perfect To Admit Thy Mistakes, Too Right To Be Wrong. Thou Art Too Heartless To Utter The Words ‘Sorry’’ Too Haughty To Say ‘Please’’, Too Busy To Show Up When Needed.

Have I Any Need For A Friend So Engrossed In Himself? Have I Any Need For A Friend Who Cares Not Of Me, Nor My Worries? Have I Any Need For A Friend Who Seldom Is Available When Needed? What Dost Thou Take Me For, A Loner Void Of Love And Friendship If Thou Be Gone? A Fool Dependent On You For Happiness? Thou Art Indeed Foolish, Very Foolish.

Thou Lackest Knowledge Of Who I Am, Thou Knowest Me Not, Cos If Thou Did, Thou Wouldn’t Be This Foolish. I Tire Of Waiting, Anticipating Thy Recovery Of Sanity. I Tire Of Being Patient I Tire Of The Lack Thereof Of True Friendship, And So My Mind Makest A Decision.

Thou Art Not Indispensable, Thou Art Replaceable I Will Make Thee And The Memory Of Thee Thereof Into A Shadow, I Will Deny Thee The Privilege Of Being In My Past As I Will Erase Thee Completely As Though Thou Never Existed.

I Will Make Known To Thee Untold Hardship, But Before I Harm Thee, I Will Humble Thee. And When Thou Hast Suffered All These Things, When Thou Art Humbled And Realise Thy Mistakes, When Thou Art Sober And Discover My Relevance, When Thou Like The Prodigal Son Cometh To Thy Senses And Thus Wish To Return, I Will Take Thee Back In With Open Arms.

I Will Show Thee Exceeding Love And It’s Like Thereof. That I Will Do With No Intention Of Spiting Thee, That I Will Do To Prove To Thee That I Am A Better Friend Than Thou Art.

Literature / Defining Greatness: The Illusion Of Ownership by profmba(m): 6:40pm On Oct 06, 2015
caste or social class is irrelevant in defining greatness, for
greatness is a term which like genes assorts independently.

In attempting to understand greatness, one must define it from the concept of an un-illusory mind set. When greatness is identified with form, it becomes conditioned and temporal therefore obscuring the light of the unconditioned and eternal that shines on it.

In our contemporary world, man is more interested in having than in being and so he tries above all odds to acquire and amass that which he thinks gives him a more complete sense of self.

Peoples concepts of greatness are veiled with the delusion of
acquiring, the delusion of ‘‘I have therefore I am’’. They fail to
realise that one does not become great by acquiring or owning,
one becomes great by finding greatness within and allowing it to
emerge through a consciousness void of the illusory self, a
consciousness void of the idea that having or owning makes one great.

Looking for greatness from without is like trying to change
external reality without any prior change of inner reality.
Greatness is that which starts from within first before proceeding to emerge from without. It has never been the other way around.

A lot of people are delusional, they have the mental concept that
ownership characterises greatness so they spend their life time
looking for what to own, they spend their lives looking for a more complete sense of self in things, only to realise on their death beds that that which they had sought for had actually already been there [within] but was largely obscured by their identification with things, by their identification with the illusory concept of ownership.

Greatness is being, it is not having. You cannot ‘‘have’’ to ‘‘be’’, that alone is delusional in itself, you have to ‘‘be’’ in order to ‘‘have’’. These are two things that should never be equated as one would have to come before the other.

Lastly, always realise that you do not need others to give you a
more complete sense of self, nobody defines you better than you define yourself and so your eyes should be the mirror with which you view yourself or otherwise you will be condemned to chasing after things for the rest of your life, which I certainly do not wish for you and thus this write up.
