CareerRe: Forbes Releases List Of Top Employable Jobs In 2016 by profnomercy: 7:32pm On Jan 03, 2016

The Nigerian capital market and money market is still at her developmental stage. Most of the high breed financial instruments are not traded. Hence, most core finance topics are not factored into our syllables. Banking studies is then added to the topics covered in finance(relevant to our economy) to make up for a degree programme. Finance is mainly studied alone at PG level.
ok PG is quite different from 1ST degree.but in the labour market what if they requested for finance first degree are they directly referring to banking and finance degree?

FAME ( finance, accounting, management, economics) are always at advantage in the labour market. This is primarily as a result of the need for financial management in all sectors and firms. That aside, you will also notice that aside consulting in ICT, FAME experts easily set up consulting firms. Remember, the economy is the superstructure upon which other structures in the society are built. After every thing, the bottom line of any sector is finance/economy.
true sha.
but please it's been long i have been hearing finance! finance! finance.in nigeria which will live in,there is no school known to be studying finance except unilag and outside countries.but in nigeria it is fully recognize as "banking and finance" and not finance.
in my school(currently studying banking and finance though) whenever i mention that i'm studying finance to my friends,it always seems to them like i am speaking gibbrish because they only know banking and finance.
my question is is this finance the same as banking and finance most universities in nigeria offer or is it another course entirely?
and does employer of labour recognize finance instead of banking and finance.
thanks as i anticipate your response
EducationTechnical Question Require Technical Answer by profnomercy(op): 12:15am On Dec 29, 2015
good pm fellow nairalanders. hope you all had a blissful day today.
i come here today with a technical question that require a very critical and technical reasoning, and i know there are so many geniuses in here that can provide me with the encouraging and helpful answer.

henceforth,I've been battling with a dilema on which a family friend is going through;
firstly, this set of family are very poor to the extent that they are unable to have a square meal/day due to their financial challenges which is beyond their control.they are 5 in number,a mother and a father, two sons as the eldest, and the youngest which is still attending secondary school.
Now,the dilema is,the two sons of this wonderful parent are curious and anxious to further their education because they are already an SSCE holder.-one is very industrious and hardworking,he always assist his parent in their business due to because he doesn't want to encounter any financial challenges whenever he gain admission into higher institution,he is always working hard with his parent to survive but he has only one limitation;he is very very dull interms of academic perfomance,he always find it difficult to read but not difficult to work.
the other son on the other hand is so lazy that he doesn't even knows how to wash their dirty plate not to talk of going to work with his parent,he sleeps alot, eats alot, but only has one advantage which is;he is so bright academically,he is intelligent academically,he perform best in school among his mate/peer but find it difficult to assist his parent for sponsorship raising.

Now,the dilema here is,they both are curious and wants to further their education, they find other activities"A NO GO AREA"as compare to their sacrifice of their education.and their parent only had the capability of sponsoring only one out of the two.
Dear nairalanders if this kids were to be your son which would you make your priority by sponsoring him?
EducationHelp A Needing Student Please by profnomercy(op): 11:08am On Nov 22, 2015
good am to my fellow nairalanders,my name is austin,a final year student of one of the reputable university(nnamdi azikiwe university, awka to be precise).
i have a friend by name john.i met him in a couple of days ago, when i noticed the guy is helpless and stranded.
he recently gained admission in the same university i studied, but have not been able to continue with the admission process due to some some financial challenges and set back.he explained all his challenges to me that he had no enough money to pay for his acceptance fee that he thinks he wont be able to continue with the admission that he would have it terminated.
i tried my best to encouraged him not to terminate it that i would try and look for way in any means not for him to lose this admission(you can all imagine how difficult it is to get admission this days in third most sought after university in Nigeria with one of the most competitive courses),and he is not an online freak due to because he had no ostentated phone to browse with so i decided to help him post this online because i knew so many benefactor exist here.
please if you know how you can help this brother, do before his admission get terminated.he is to pay #24,000 for acceptance fee.
thanks for showing empathy in advance.the mod should please help me move this to front page.
thanks.
CareerHelp A Friend by profnomercy(op): 11:55pm On Nov 13, 2015
good pm my fellow nairalanders.
let me start by introducing myself,my name is john,i just graduated this year from a prestigious university in nigeria.

i have a friend(name witheld),which had an hardworking and focus attribute,we graduated the same year from the same university(only our courses differ).

this my friend is having a small issue pertaining to his career,he finished with a strong 2.1(4.4 precisely)in a banking and finance as a course of discipline, you can all see he is close to being a real genius.

he had always wanted to become all this commercial bankers(marketing and teller's assistance excluded),although i've always talk to him of his decision being a commercial banker where there are so many opportunities and doors open ajar for him to chose but he insisted on commercial sectors(don't know if he had any planned mission in that sector),as a friend i accepted but he has bin anxious and naive of the kinda position he might hold in a bank according to his first degree(banking and finance),he is not fund of having all this marketing and teller's assistance as a job due to their constant laid off of recent.

as of now he wanted to know the kinda position a banking and finance first degree can hold in a bank.

i'll really want genuine answer from mature mind who had had an extensive experience in the banking sector to air their view.

please as this may sound ridiculous to you i want you to all respond literally as a literate and not raising a Mephistophelean insult to him,and if by any fact you have another industry's or sectors that do really find a finance first degree graduate so impressive you can also list them here for me to be able to convince him.

thanks as i await your mature comment.
