To get experience in HSE as bn so difficult this day even to offer volunteer service.

Big man don't give up.The economic situation is making things a bit difficult but trust me things will soon normalize .Keep up the search and keep getting more informed.

Certifications are obtained from Bodies which spell out certain conditions which include setting up of syllabus,modules ,conduct exams among others and when you meet the conditions you would be awarded certificates.Let me also add that these certificates are legally backed up by statutory and relevant laws.

As a safety newbie i would advise you get the ISPON certificates and during more years of practice and money available you do Nebosh, starting from Nebosh IGC, then you graduate to the Nebosh Diploma.Other certification include IEMA, OSHA....but i must note at this point that OSHA has so much awareness approach and it is tailored mainly for American based system.

The various HSE 1,2,3, fire programme and a host of training you see advertised are awareness programme a feat that any company should organize for all her staff and not necessarily HSE would be.In fact when you become employed that would be your job.To make all staff in your company aware of these issues.

The next tool or step after the two advice above is to practice the little safety you know mainly at home and everywhere.The reasons been that as you graduate and become a better both on the job and in acquiring certification, you will discover your success in the job will determine by how much you practice and believe in what you say than the words you say.

Some company may offer you the opportunity to learn on the job while some wont, in any of the case you must become certified and increase your awareness in the field.

Certification is quite different from awareness and this is were i want to correct so many erroneous write up i read during some pages of this thread.

Would be offering some tips that will help many of us succeed in our various field of work and also those that are not yet engaged.

For a start develop your man management skills and your writing skills they will come handy when you finally join the HSE field
