Biafra: What Buhari should have done to Nnamdi Kanu – Yerima ShettimaBy John Owen Nwachukwu on July 24, 2017

The leader of Arewa Youths Consultative Forum, AYCF, Yerima Shettima has said that the leader of the Indigenous people of Biafra, IPOB, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu is being influenced by hard drugs and as a result, behaves like a madman.

Shettima said his recent decision to force Igbos out of the Northern region of the country was reached solely because of activities and comments by the IPOB leader against Nigeria, the North and president Muhammadu Buhari.

The AYCF leader, who recently asked Igbos in the North to ignore the quit notice he earlier issued to them, told the Sun that Nnamdi Kanu was getting out of hands.

He said, “This man [Kanu] came from nowhere. He is never our class in struggles. I don’t know where he started his struggle, but he came out and within one year and suddenly because unfortunately the government made it easy for him to become popular; otherwise, Kanu is not an issue.”

Shettima said the Muhammadu Buhari-led administration made a big mistake when his governmnet arrested Nnamdi Kanu.

He further blamed, “The government to an extent; to have even in the first place arrested this man, somebody who is being influenced by drugs.

“Who is Kanu in the circle of struggles? So to me it is high time when somebody behaves like a mad man and you behave like a gentleman you realize that this gentleman is getting out of hand undermining everybody, abusing everybody.

“You cannot… I am proudly a northerner and that’s my identity. I cannot be a leader at my level and allow this man to be talking and abusing the sensibilities of my people and you expect me to fold my hands. As a leader of the youths, it’s impossible.

“We cannot fold our hands when after Jonathan government, no organization like IPOB came on board to abuse that government, now suddenly because we have a government of northern extraction under the leadership of Muhammadu Buhari we fold our hands and allow somebody to undermine that government and abuse the sensibility .We did everything, even MASSOB found it difficult to manage the young man the way he is going about it.

“A man who few years ago Ralph Uwazurike employed to work for him suddenly became a tiger and became a tool against the collective interest of the Igbo. Now, nobody can control him. Even the governors and the Eastern leaders this boy has succeeded in holding them to ransom. They are scared of talking for fear of attack from those jobless youths around him.

“Suddenly they folded their hands. And you expect us other Nigerians to fold our hands when somebody who has dual citizenship is trying to mess up the country?

“From UK to come and mess up the country? No, we’ll ensure that we protect the integrity of Nigeria to make sure that we remain together. No; this is unacceptable.

“My recent decision was borne out of frustration with this young man who goes around abusing my identity, my community, my people, undermining a country called Nigeria. I am a strong Nigerian, proudly a Nigerian.”

Buhari: Photo showing Oyegun, Governors fake, taken in Abuja long ago – Fani-KayodeBy Wale Odunsi on July 24, 2017@dailypostngr

Former Aviation Minister, Femi Fani-Kayode says the latest picture showing some APC Governors, party Chairman, John Oyegun and President Muhammadu Buhari, purportedly taken in London, is “old and fake.”

This is contained in snippets of his news article sent to DAILY POST on Monday.

He said: “I have been reliably informed that the picture was taken in Abuja some time back and not yesterday in London.

“Quite apart from that, even though the picture was meant to have been taken in London curiously all the drinks on the table are Nigerian products and Nigerian-made.

“Did the Governors take all those drinks along with them to London when they went to see the President?

“Is Buhari not coming home soon again? Acting President, Yemi Osinbajo and some government officials told us that he would be back on the 28th of July which is just a few days away.

“Why the need for the APC Governors to “visit” him in far away London if he will be back in Nigeria in a few days?

Buhari: Photo showing Oyegun, Governors fake, taken in Abuja long ago – Fani-Kayode

“What was the purpose and point of this fake photo-shoot and this strange breakfast meeting? What was the purpose and objective of this monumental fraud and deceit?

“Whatever the answers may be to these questions the curtain must be brought down on what can only be described as a puerile and nauseating conspiracy.

“For those who still believe that the meeting actually took place there are some nagging questions that need to be answered.

“For example why were the Nigerian and foreign media not allowed to cover the proceedings and participate in this celebrated photo-soot and merry London feast?

“Why did the Villa press corps not take one of their own camera men to London and make a short video of the event?

“Why was the whole event shrouded in so much secrecy? Why is it that only one picture was taken? Why were more pictures not taken? Why was Buhari not put on audio tape and recorded talking to his guests?”

$43million Ikoyi loot: We’re under pressure not to reveal real owner – House of Reps CommitteeBy John Owen Nwachukwu on July 24, 2017

Chairman, House of Representatives Committee on National Security and Intelligence, Sani Jaji has claimed he and members of his committee were under immense pressure not to reveal the real owner of the $43million loot discovered in a flat in Osborne Towers, Ikoyi, Lagos State.
Jaji made the claim a statement yesterday, adding that unsolicited advice was flying in from different quarters aiming at influencing the report of his committee.

The lawmaker, however, said that Nigerians deserved to know the truth.

According to him, “There have been attempts on me as the chairman of the committee and members of the committee on what direction the investigation should take and the possible outcome of the report.

“There has been a lot of frustration but this has not in any way affected us because we remain committed to our cause.

“Though there is no monetary inducement but these pressures are in form of text messages and physical contacts about what we should do, what we should not do, that we should dwell on this and not on that.

“They say this or that agency has a reputation that should not be put on the line, so we should not go beyond certain extent but we tell them that our determination is to safeguard the name and integrity of our institutions.

Start sewing your prison uniform, you are ending in jail – APC chieftain, Onyeagucha tells Okorocha

“But we tell them it is not fair to castigate an entire agency for the wrongdoing of an agency and that is why we want to protect our institutions by getting to the roots of these infractions and expose the individuals responsible.

“In continuation of the mandate given the committee by the House, we just met with the acting Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Ibrahim Magu, in relation to the $43million discovered in an apartment in Ikoyi and the meeting was very fruitful.

“We have been meeting with relevant stakeholders concerned in this matter before now, having met with Magu, it is our resolve to pursue this matter to a logical conclusion because more revelations are coming out.

“It should be understandable that we cannot come out with some of these facts now since the investigation is not concluded yet.

“It is our mandate to find out the owner of that apartment and the ownership of the money, notwithstanding that the Nigerian Intelligence Agency (NIA) has laid claim to both.

“Notwithstanding the sensitivity of the assignment, the EFCC has been able to give us some important information in relation to the money.”

He further disclosed that the committee would meet with the Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Godwin Emefiele and the suspended Director-General of the NIA this week.
