Commercial activities in Owerri, Imo State were on Friday brought to a halt with the visit of the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, Nnamdi Kanu.

The National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has ridiculed Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, for changing his mind over the restructuring of Nigeria.

El-Rufai had initially made it clear he did not believe in the idea, before he was appointed as the chairman of the committee set up by the All Progressives Congress (APC) on restructuring.

In an interview with Daily Trust, Makarfi gave his opinion on the committee.

He said: “Well, I can’t be sure because it is a party, it is not a government. APC cannot set up a committee for restructuring the country. They can set up a committee on restructuring their party.

“You see, that’s why I said APC is in confusion. If it is about the nation, I respect the acting President, Osinbajo. If it is about the nation; I expect, we should expect the acting president to do it.

You don’t believe in restructuring the country, and you now form a committee… Please give me a break, what are they talking about?”

The picture of a handful of APC Governors and President Muhammadu Buhari, which was purportedly taken in London yesterday, is old and fake.

I have been reliably informed that they were taken during Ramadan in Abuja some time back and not yesterday in London.

Quite apart from that even though the picture was meant to have been taken in London curiously all the drinks on the table are Nigerian products and Nigerian-made.

Did the Governors take all those drinks along with them to London when they went to see the President?



Is Buhari not coming home again anytime soon? Acting President Yemi Osinbajo and some government officials recently told us that he would be back on the 28th of July which is just a few days away.

Why the need for the APC Governors to “visit” him in far away London if he will be back in Nigeria in a few days?

What was the purpose and point of this fake photo-shoot and this strange breakfast meeting? What was the purpose and objective of this monumental fraud and deceit?

Whatever the answers may be to these questions the curtain must be brought down on what can only be described as a puerile and nauseating conspiracy.

This crazy and noxious charade just has to stop. We do not wish the President dead but we have a right to know the truth. As a matter of fact we demand to know that truth because, as he once said himself, he “belongs to us all”.

For those who still believe that the meeting actually took place there are some nagging questions that need to be answered.

For example why were the Nigerian and foreign media not allowed to cover the proceedings and participate in this celebrated photo-soot and merry London feast?

Why did the Villa press corps not take one of their own camera men to London and make a short video of this “historic” event?

Why was were the whole proceedings shrouded in so much secrecy? Why is it that only one picture was taken? Why were more pictures not shot? Why was Buhari not put on audio tape and interviewed whilst he was with his celebrated and important guests?

Why did he not offer a few words of hope and encouragement to the Nigerian people to ease the tension that has been generated in the land by his prolonged absence?

How can they expect us to take Governor Rochas Okorocha’s word for anything without any solid proof or evidence to back those words up or give them a measure of veracity or credibility?

I for one would not believe a word that a man like Rochas tells me. If he told me that it was day outside I would have to assume that it was night. It is that bad.

Again why did Buhari not shake anyone’s hands during the photo-shoot? Why did he not get up from his chair, say “cheese” and give us a big Daura smile?

Why was he just sitting there. Why all the tall tales that he is getting much better

Is it not clear that even if he were to be brought back to Nigeria tomorrow he could no longer function properly and lead the nation?
Where is the shame in admitting these truths and prevailing on him to resign in order for him to be able to go home to Daura and take care of his health?

Better still he could resign and be taken to Prophet T.B. Joshua’s Synagogue Church Of All Nations (SCOAN) in Lagos for prayer, deliverance and healing. I assure you that it works.

Those who truly love Mr. President and care for him ought to advise him to take one of these two options. Yet sadly few will do so.

The bitter truth is that we have become the laughing stock of the entire civilised world since this shameless charade began.

A nation of 180 million people whose President has gone missing and who have no idea where he is, what is wrong with him or what the prognosis for his condition is. The situation is shameful and bizarre.

Worse still we have a media that is so fawning in its attitude when it comes to the Federal Government and that is so easily

LEADER of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) Nnamdi Kanu on Monday bagged an award in Enugu for his contribution to the development of Igbo nation, just as he insisted that only restructuring of Nigeria between now and October 1, this year will guarantee the holding of November gubernatorial election in Anambra State.

Kanu who spoke in Enugu at a brief event where he received awards from three Igbo groups, including the Eastern Consultative Assembly (ECA) and the Igbo Students’ Association (ISA) told a select journalists that unless the Federal Government restructures the country before October 2017, the world would be shocked with the fate that would befall the scheduled Anambra election.

The Biafra Radio Director further said, “There will be no election in Anambra State come November 2017 and going forward there won’t be any election until they give me date for a referendum. They know what to do; convene a meeting, I will send my rep, give us a date for referendum; that is the only way.

“In which part of this earth have you ever found a measure of self-determination to be equated to war except in Nigeria because the political leaders do not understand the difference between self-determination and war?”

“Self-determination does not mean hate speech; the status quo can no longer remain. Like my brother Evangelist Eliot Ugochukwu-Uko said, if on or before October 1 nothing happens in terms of substantial restructuring, then there won’t be any election; the people will support us.”

According to him, “On oppositions to my call by the Ohanaeze Ndigbo and other Igbo leaders, make no stand because the people are with us; we have their support 100 per cent and come Anambra, on the 18th of November 2017, the world will be amazed.”

Earlier in a paper entitled: “Enugu Declaration”, a coalition of Igbo groups at the event called on the government not to make further delay towards restructuring the country.

The declaration was signed by Dr Alfred Udokwu; South East Elders Union; Rev Fr John Odey, Eastern Consultative Assembly; Bishop Mike Ibenene, South East Christian Network; Chief (Mrs) Maria Okwor; Igbo Women Assembly; Evangelist Elliot Ugochukwu-Uko, Igbo Youth Movement, among others.

They noted that, “The struggle by a tiny clique to sustain by all means, the status quo imposed on Nigeria by unelected soldiers, by issuing threats of war in the false hope that the 196 million Nigerians held down in unacceptable squalor, fear, helplessness and arrested development will be cowed by this threats of military action and therefore back down from the noble struggle to save Nigeria, through a peaceful restructuring is provocative and offensive.”

“Their arrogance, and ruthlessness has no place in the 21st century. It can only lead to the death of Nigeria. Nigeria must be restructured if Nigeria is to survive, and egalitarianism, equity and merit-based system enthroned. Fiscal federalism and regional autonomy established through a new constitution affirmed at a referendum. This is the irreducible minimum.”

“Those struggling to resist this desirable change that will save Nigeria, and grant every zone a sense of belonging, are hereby declared ENEMIES OF THE PEOPLE.”

“Accordingly, we the oppressed masses of Eastern Nigeria, conscious of the fate of our children, reject in totality, the quite offensive arrogance of the opposers to restructuring, and hereby declare that we will not participate further in any elections whatsoever until Nigeria is restructured to true fiscal federalism anchored on regional autonomy.”

“We restate that if genuine processes towards restructuring Nigeria are not embarked upon by the federal government on or before the 1st of October 2017, our people will find it extremely difficult to continue to participate in the Nigerian project.”
