Career › Will This Stop Me From Joining The Army? Please Help! by PROSPER2026(op): 11:36am On May 08
I want to Join the Nigerian Army via the Short Service Combat Commission (SSC) in the next available window. I have a degree in physics already and will be applying after my NYSC. But I have a concern.

I feel a pinch in my left hip sometimes when I move. Sometimes it comes with crackling noise in my joints. This is due to bad posture that I've had over the years, relying on my left hip when standing. When I noticed, I started correcting my posture. This sharp pain in my left hip has persisted over the years, although it is no longer severe as it used to be. I dont limp when walking, I can squat, walk and run but I feel the pinch and that's why I'm concerned. I've also noticed that it caused an assymetry between my left and right hip. My left hip seems shorter and I can't move my left hip close to my chest like my right hip when lying down

I can't afford a private physiotherapist or orthopedic doctor, and public hospitals in this country are also hard to access– long queues, distance...etc. So while looking forward to visit a public hospital soon, I believe experienced military doctors, orthopedics or other health professionals here can give me good advice.

Also, if you know anything about the SSC recruitment in the military, if you've applied before, if you're a soldier , please provide your counsel and experience to us who are seeking to join. We'll really appreciate your advice
