Thanks bright for this suggestion but do you mean Comic or cmos battery?
If you mean CMOS battery, it means i will have to open the system to have that done.
Is there any other way apart from opening the system?

I urgently need someone to tell me how to clear a set up password on my acer Aspire D255 Laptop.

This computer setup was passworded by the first owner who can no longer be contacted.

I will appreciate any useful idea to solve the problem.
