The IT industry's built on companies copying one another.
Anyone seen the movie "Pirates of Silicon Valley"?

The whole game is about who pays for and obtains the patent for the idea. A lot of patents aren't owned by the people who originate the ideas.

I've seen clips of old Nigerian tv series like New Masquerade, Samanja, Bassey & Co. and so on and I believe they were truly talented, professional actors skilled in their craft far more creative and believable than many Nollywood home videos produced today.
I don't think those old series had high budgets for their quality work.

You don't need millions to tell a good story.

There should be many creative Nigerians out there waiting to make their mark and possibly the current producers will eventually get better.

There isn't really a 'part 3', that was a different movie about the same person by different people.

The first part's truly the best one.

It is a very well-made enjoyable movie, a biopic, about Ip Man, Bruce Lee 's martial arts master. It stars Donnie Yen as as the character Ip Man amidst his life adventures before and during the World War 2 occupation of China by Japanese troops.

It's a fun movie even without the fantastic martial arts featured (The Raid just narrowly beat its 'wow!' factor).

Ip Man was a grandmaster in the martial arts of Wing Chun named after the woman who originated the style. Wing chun is also Sammo Hung's liked style and he choreographed the fights then starred in Ip Man 2. Ip Man is credited with spreading the Wing Chun style around the world and famous taught Bruce Lee who would later go on to further develop the techniques into his own Jeet Kune Do.
Interestingly, Donnie Yen, star of Ip Man and Hong Kong's top action star today, learnt his martial arts from his mother as well who was a grandmaster. Plus Donnie Yen is considered the closest to Bruce Lee by many, in terms of speed and technique.

The Raid has been called the best action film of the decade by many. The last time we had such seriously mean martial arts action must have been Ip Man.

There's really no need for a Hollywood remake of The Raid.

The movie actually features Indonesian silat martial arts not kung fu (Chinese).
It was directed by A Welsh man who relocated to Indonesia with his Indonesian wife.
The movie was an independent product which then had its marketing/distribution rights bought by Sony (of the Kung Fu Hustle fame).

Wow, really beautiful stuff. Loved the metal 'ants' @ 4.58 Well done to all the students. Nice work.

PS - Skip the first 3mins30secs - driving shots of nothing; like a bad drag, drag, drag Nollywood film!

Exactly, first 3mins &25secs better suited for travel fans and a bit shaky but very colorful. Check out the reaper. wink

"I'm standing just at the scene where this car exploded and contrary to initial reports, it now looks like this car bomb did not actually detonate outside a church which had been earlier reported," Ndege said.

"What it looks like is that these individuals, clearly suicide bombers, were on their way to potentially a location where they intended to explode their devices.

"Something clearly went wrong because if you look at the area where this car bomb went off it's in the middle of the main road which would have had heavy traffic on Easter Sunday and many ordinary people standing on the side of the road selling their wares."

Back in the day, the CIA is suspected by many today to have created alQaeda to keep the Bush administration in office after it was claimed he never actually won the elections to his first term in office.

True enough, alQaeda worked more for the administration's office than anything else. Whenever the US had economic woes or lost troops in Iraq, rather than celebrating the losses of their "enemies", alQaeda would do a strange thing - they would instead go out and bomb Iraqis in a market place for no good reason.
What, they had so many bombs they didn't know what to do with them? I would have thought explosives and ammunition would be too expensive to waste on such targets,

The Mubarak regime tried to quell anti-government protests by attacking protesters then we had news of churches being bombed. That failed because it led to muslim and christian unity which still brought the regime down. To cover their tracks, Mubarak's secret services and police went on to burn down their own offices and secret documents (notably those related to the "war on terror"wink.

Oh, where was Mubarak getting help from - US allies (e.g. CIA):

http://sarthanapalos./2011/02/02/mubarak-state-sponsored-terrorism-against-his-people/

Today economic woes and failing military power has the US and much of Europe on a downward trend to ruin.

One way to sustain themselves a little longer is through Africa because that's where there still exists a vast majority of raw resources vital for feeding rich countries of the world so they can maintain their lifestyles.
With China's increasing role in Africa, however, offering fair enough services and technology in exchange for resources, the business of getting free stuff from African leaders then not paying, by claiming their countries owed huge debts to be settled this way, just got harder.
So it seems, the bullying military tactics are being employed. That way with Africans being trick into a phoney war on terror, they'd have to give up resources in exchange for perceived security from the 'experts'.

Think about it, the value of the dollar is going down around the world, what currency do governments and militants use in purchasing arms and ammunition (which are not cheap)? Dollars.

You can say oh that's fine weapons are coming from Libya. Where did Libya get them from, what did the Libyans use to pay for them and who destroyed the Libyan security system to get these weapons flowing out to more customers?

Now what do we see in Nigeria?
There's this urgent need to create a group nicknamed boko haram and use it in the news media and politics to create as much unease as possible until the US and other come back to the rescue in a new colonial gesture.
If the group is said to be linked to alQaeda, then it is another way of telling you you it is linked to the CIA (and their tactics already match those of staged attacks for the media killing innocents in the process - destroy public infrastructure to reduce development in an area, kill innocents, assassinate learned people or critics, toy with the media).
Given their operations and numerous escapes, it is beginning to look like members of this group are being given authority to act with orders from up above somewhere prevent the Nigerian security services and army from hindering their activities.
It makes very little sense for the president of a country to be making statements to the international press about links of his government to militants then again ask for them to identify themselves for dialogue. Your ex-president Obasanjo seems to have better security and information to be able to travel and meet with members of the group.

It seems there was an attempt to use the issue to divide Nigerians according to region or religion (aiming for conflicts like those in South Sudan today, a smaller region with more weapons flowing into it - plus it has oil, wooohooo) but it backfired with protest uniting them instead. This appears to have changed the strategy towards Nigeria and boko haram's demands had to be adjusted accordingly.
The media is used to control people as well, even today an extremely large number of people outside Nigeria have absolutely no clue about protests earlier this month in Nigeria because news outlets like the BBC for instance refused to cover the protests in international news (they only made a few references to it afterwards and will probably proceed to lecture you on why it "failed" to them). However, they are more than ready to dedicate top headlines to boko haram attacks and YouTube videos.

What happened with the UN and the likes of Hilary Clinton and William Hague going on about governments respecting protesters human rights and ensuring people have basic amenities? They were quiet about Nigeria protests and only "condemn" boko haram attacks. Ask me, they know who boko haram are because they probably back them.

Nigerians, however, seem to be slowly breaking out of the colonial mentality their ancestors were brought up with despite their constant bickering. What they need to focus on now is developing their countries because if you sit back and wait for the Americans or anyone else to do your work for you, you will be left with more explosions (many exaggerated to bombs in the news) trying to destroy what you already have in the name of terrorism and the need to pay for outside security.
Your enemies will do their best against you so you have to do your best for yourselves now.
If all the boko haraming doesn't break you, your president has to beware because he has given up his security and life to the CIA/Mossad and if they decide he is no longer of any use to them or a security threat,  (Saddam, Gaddafi, Mubarak and Saleh of Yemen used to be their friends as well remember?).

Pray for the best.

Wow.

It's really easy to get you Nigerians fighting one another isn't it?

A witness told the BBC's Hausa Service he was with a group of Christians and Muslims taking refuge in a mosque near the gun battle.

The man - a visitor to the city - said they were lying on the floor, praying together and had turned off the lights. He said his hearing was still affected by the blasts.

Watch your backs.

Atheist: Such a shame, you wasted your life on a belief rather than enjoying yourself. That's what makes me more intelligent.

Old lady: Do you believe there's a Being Who created our universe, life & our entire existence?

Atheist: Hah, such tales of old. No, I don't believe in such an unproven hypothesis of the existence of a Creator.

Old lady: Ah, I do. Do you believe humans will be capable of producing artificial intelligence or artificial life putting together existing resources over time?

Atheist: Yes, I do. That's being proven by science.

Old lady: So do I. Do you believe there could be other life more intelligent and advanced than humans in the universe?

Atheist: Yes I do. Science strongly points to that possibility.

Old lady: So do I. That means you can't be more intelligent than I.

Atheist: Yes I am, I don't believe in an imaginary Being who created the universe.

Old lady: No, instead you believe there's other life in the universe more intelligent and advanced than the humans who you believe can produce artificial intelligence or artificial life. What exactly are you saying?

Atheist: What?

Old lady: You just said you believe other beings can produce intelligence or life in a more advanced way than humans. That means they too would have others better than them. In the end you'd arrive in just one Perfect Source producing all existence. I'm intelligent enough to recognize the One, the Source of All Goodness.

Atheist: Er, , but you can't prove the existence of that One Being and sooner or later science will produce artificial life not just growing DNA, genes and stuff, and we'll contact extraterrestrial aliens.

Old lady: Hehehe, that's amusing. Sort of like two viruses in a Petri dish with one telling the other humans don't exist because you can't see humans or prove their existence within the universe of the Petri dish. It can't even see the microscope examining them.

Atheist: No, I cannot believe your life can be better than mine!

Old lady: Ah, poor, poor young fellow. Cast out in the middle of the ocean with nothing in sight but water & the clear sky, you'd give up hope & drown. I'd pray & have hope.

Hehehe, looks like we've got our good old amateur trolls on this forum as well. Guys who think they're too clever they can post stuff to cause a riot amongst forum members.

Hey everyone knows the worst wars are not caused by religious folk - the world wars, the cold war with it assasinations/tortures/etc., vietnam war, the gulf war.

Not to mention the modern atheist trend of suicide shooters - they get confused with life then go out shooting kids and people then themselves. Please!

The CIA's supposed to be handling security matters for the Nigerian president since 2010 and some local 'religious' terrorist group are out smarting them
Hey, this is God's wise way of showing intelligent people what's going on.

The foreign media is so eager to put out all the bad news they can they're even officially calling these guys boko haram. That's just a nickname given to them by the locals, dummies.
Everyone knows they're really hitmen for some politicians and hungry foreigners looking for Nigerian resources without paying for them.

Africa basically feeds the world nowadays.
