delkuf: seriously. There is no need for season 2. I watched the first few episodes and am not impressed. They should have stop at season 1.
Night Agent definitely needed a S2 - are you sure you watched the Night Agent and understood it? the main plotline was unfinished. You can say the season 2 is not good but yu can't say it doesn't need a s2. The main story is about finding the truth about his dad and saving his reputation and taking revenge - None of that has happened
Dune’s massive desert landscapes and sweeping shots bring the world of Arrakis to life in a way that really amplifies the story. The use of lighting and color—especially the natural lighting and warm tones—adds emotional weight and tension throughout. In comparison, *Conclave* does not have the same visual punch at all and its visual direction is totally mediocre compared to Dune. Oppenheime on last year's Oscar because it brought something different to cinematography and Dune 2 did so also. Conclave is not doing anything new or creative when it comes cinematography at all
Illusioneffect: Yre probably saying this because you just watched Conclave and you don't really remember how Dune 2 looks. Cinematography is not just about framing and shots - it is also about how the camera makes scenes feel throughout the movie. I could pause ANY frame of Dune Part 2 and even Nosferatu and it could be a painting - I can't say the same about Conclave. They literally created a black and white sequence that has never been done in film history. They filmed a scene by building vehicles and plugging them all together. Nosferatu has even way better cinematography than Conclave and conclave has almost the same cinematography as Challengers just more fine tuned You probably should rewatch Dune 2 again
abduleez1: If you ask me.... Out of the 3 films I've watched among this list, I'll pick CONCLAVE. 😉
Wow this is really the problem with this new age - you guys have forgotten what a masterpiece Dune 2 is just because you've watched it just recently doesn't make it a better cinematography than Dune 2. What're you saying?
abduleez1: This is just unbelievable what happened at the DGA..... Dennis Villeneuve being turned down even by his own peers is a disgrace.
At least either of EMILIA PEREZ or ANORA don't belong in this list.
It's clear this awards season is mainly about recency bias cos I don't understand how DUNE PART 2 is being shunned everywhere. I'm hoping the #Oscars correct this ignoble anomaly. The singular best film of the year being unanimously ignored by the Awards body needs serious protest. I don't know if WB didn't campaign hard enough for this movie cos I don't understand.....but punishment should follow if this atrocious fate continues for DUNE at the Oscars.
It's like this people have personal beef or envy for the guy.
Modified: just remembered the fight Dennis has with AMPAS over picking of his score from Hans Zimmer being originally or not; the Academy might agree with the rest and do him dirty. 😩😤
I still can't possibly understand why Dune is not receiving any favours. Emilia Perez is just everywhere because of gender politics in my opinion
the fact that out of this 60, only like 3 may be on my best list this year showing that surprises are always bountiful, you never know what would be your best movie of the year
Ishilove: Let me give you the attention you have been trying to get from me for weeks now because I'm in a mellow mood this morning.
I know you live to troll because nothing else brings you joy in that meaningless series of even more meaningless events that passes for your existence, but see, since your family failed to contain you before you strolled into the market and had access to Internet connection, we, the sane members of the society will keep working tirelessly to have you committed into an asylum, starting from Nairaland.
you shouldn't have responded, the bitch is looking for the attention no one is giving this Christmas. That's what loneliness can cause
Illusioneffect: My personal best movies of 2024 1. Wicked 2. Dune Part 2 3. Carry-On 4. Nosferatu 5. Conclave 6. The Substance 7. Sonic 3 8. Deadpool and Wolverine 9. Terrifier 3 10. The Complete Unknown or Babygirl
1. Didi 2. Dune Part Two 3. Challengers 4. Late Night with the Devil 5. Deadpool and Wolverine 6. The Wild Robot 7. Carry On 8. Perfect Days 9. Small Things Like These 10. The Substance
NobleStag007: No one can embody Superman as Henry Cavill.
No way this gunn Superman can be close to man of steel.
I so much want to see the dark Superman with Darkseid. Even if it's animation, I'll Watch it.
I wan see how flash reversed it all. Ans what happened to Darkseid. Died or what?
really dumb take - it shows the only stand-alone superman movie you've watched is Man of Steel. If you have watched the original Superman, you would know James Gunn's version is way closer to the original So if Henry Cavill dies, no one is capable of playing Superman. Hilarious dumb take like people have not been playing Superman for decades
If you really really love movies, watch this two movies now, they are one of those rare movies that even though they are really old, they're just so timeless and fun to watch they're in awafim right now
oyaskii: I seriously don't envy James Gunn atm, The number of people that want this movie to fail far doubles those that want it to succeed. He has left himself a little wiggle room for failure, with the sheer passion and dedication he has put into the project.....
But this is such an Iconic character that deserves to be seen on the biggest screen and succeeding whilst at it.. Personally, I am hopeful enough that it will be decent, but cautious enough to know it might also go terribly wrong considering all the false starts DCEU has had in recent times..
But whatever be the case....I look forward to it.....11/7/2025.....#Lookup 🦸🏿♂️✨
In an interview on X, Gunn said if the movie doesn't do well, there might not be a Supergirl or even Batman movie - so the DC universe lies on this movie - it could go the Flash way or the success way 44. In my opinion I honestly want this movie to work. There's lot of pressure
As they continue revealing details about Superman, it is getting me insanely hyped up plus folks who have seen the trailer are saying it is one of the best trailers they'v ever seen
oyaskii: lol These actors and celebrities in general over estimate there influence sometimes 🤣🤣....like if he doesn't win, and he retires, what does that change?....he will be the only one out of a job....
We have already settled on this forum, how Oscar awards are handed out, especially any of the Big 5....they have a certain pattern, and they don't really care for over ambitious scifi flicks, i saw only 5 minutes of Emilia Pérez and i knew even the director of that will get best director, ahead of Denis Villeneuve, and i didn't even need to complete the movie....the flick had that Oscar bait spice..
Interstellar was the touted as one of biggest scifi project, post 2010, and a sure Oscar magnet, only for Christopher Nolan to lose to Alfonso Cuarón for best director, with a movie where he had just 2 cast, and 50% sound on 😩.
See even Oppie coming out trumps at the Oscars this year, was cuz it was unbelievably too good to ignore, and not many movie with said Oscar spice on offering last year.....
So Dune II will do well in the artistic and VFX awards, but any of the big 5, will be a tough ask...
exactly, almost every successful Hollywood actors think too highly of themselves - they're to stupid to realise they dont have the same influence they once had now in 2024 - no one actually gives a fck abt their opinion anymore. For example this 2024 US election where all the celebrities where bending their ass for Kamala Harris even all the Avengers casts - they later realised people were less likely to vote for her because of them. they all should just shut tf up and do their jobs
abduleez1: Lmao.... Who be the stupid director for Karate Girl (1974) ?? 🤣🤣 So much fvvking melodrama...that even beats Bollywood.
That Birdemic was hilarious as fvvk. Having Nigerian Nollywood type of CGI with them goofy @ss birds is just not the shit I expected to see in an Hollywood film in 2013. The werey actors no even make am fell realistic one bit with their "anywhere belle face" shooting. 😅😅😭😂
I can't believe you committed suicide 😂😂😂 I can't help you out of this one

Just what I needed. So, going by the footsteps of the original, this might seriously COOK.
If it was soo well received, then it could be a bad movie - it makes sense for its subject matter. The same goes for Megaliopolis - I watched the movie and it fcking COOOOOKSSSS!.
I saw a post on twitter saying Joaquin Phoenix left a minute or two earlier before the standing ovation commenced 30 mins ago. I actually believed it.😭😂
Just now, I finished watching a video of the said ovation with Phoenix actually present there. And Gaga and Todd Philips both beside him. I also saw someone that looks like Mark Ruffalo beside Gaga? The hate for this movie is real. 😭😅🔥
As a movie guy, you should know standing ovations don't mean shit
abduleez1: Damn, this thing is too interesting and looks super fun.
WB's next blockbuster and this sure looks like it'll print money. Got enough star power both old and young and gather enough bütt$ in seats. Seeing Monica Bellucci is a treat. 😏😉
Chibudollar: I swear I hate it so much. These days you wait for 2 years plus to get 8 episodes. When you've probably forgotten everything that happened in the previous season. Lazy fkers
I felt the same way too but then when I figured out how difficult it is to make movies - i was surprised by how they could even make a movie in less than 2 years. Sitcoms are easy to make just because it has to do just do with writing and filming - production costs are not so much. Shows like Friends, Seinfeld and also comedy movies without many locations can be pulled off in 5 months or less. But streaming shows and movies with genres like fantasy, action and sci-fi have really large production cost, vfx cost, scouting cost, etc. I'll break it down: 1. Writing - Shows like this with a canon like Stranger Things, Westworld, Game of Thrones, Severance all take up at least 4 months to write and even up to a year for re-writes. Sometimes, they have to wait until the streaming company approve another season before they can start writing again 2. Determine Pre-production Budget and Wrap Crew Costs 3. Break Down the Script and List the Expenses 4. Scout for Locations - that could take three months minimum 5. Build Sets - in House of the Dragon - they built a full city, they also built Harrenhall - you can imagine the months it takes to build that, hire architect that has to draw up everything first, try to make adjustment that the director goes through and make some changes before they build, they built the sewer - the blood and cheese scene. 5. Filming - that could take 6 months minimum 6. Editing 7. VFX 8. Post production Sometimes reshoots! you can imagine!
