I’m Looking for My Childhood Friend – Dera 💔

Hi everyone my name is Ezike Precious. I’ve held this in my heart for years, and I’m finally putting it out here, hoping the world can help me find a friend I never got the chance to say goodbye to.

Her name is Dera (maybe “Odera” or "Chidera" I’m not sure of the full name). I met her years ago at my uncle’s wedding in Imo State Nigeria. She came with her mom the night before the wedding and left the day after. We were only together for two days, but those were some of the happiest days of my childhood.

In just that short time, she became the best friend I ever had. She was smart, kind, full of life… the kind of friend that stays with you forever, even after they’re gone. But I never got to say goodbye.

I’ve searched for her ever since, holding on to the few memories we made and a photo of us together. She told me she lived in Lagos state Nigeria with her mom at the time. That’s all I know. Today, she should be somewhere between 20 and 25 years old.

I miss her. I never had another friend like her. If anyone here knows a Dera who fits this story, or if Dera herself ever sees this… please know that I never forgot you. I still hope to meet you again one day.
