I don't think one can really predict how this visa thing works, my husband didn't even use his expired visa, I used mine just once, was in the US for 4 weeks in 2022. Within the 2yrs validity of the previous visa I went to the UK and Europe twice or thrice, he only went to London once. I was telling him before we submitted that if they call him for not using his visa, he's on his own, but his passport still came out way before mine without any question asked. I wasn't really worried per se, because I didn't have a baby or broke any of my visa rules.

1. The official (maximum) processing time for IW according to the USA embassy is 8 - weeks (2 months), therefore, your application which changed to approved is still on per with the official timeframe.

2. Your husband has almost 100% clean application record (based on how his expired VISA was used or the authenticity of his application generally), that was why his IW processing was a piece of cake, and they did not want to waste his time ( based on his submitted DS-160) in the case he needs to travel asap.

PS: The USA embassy hold long with your application, probably because you did not use the expired VISA, or they want to verify the authenticity of some of your family applications, or how your expired VISA was used etc, using you as a specimen. Anyways, you can now be dancing.

My IW application status changed to "Approved" today, after submitting almost 2months ago. I submitted on the 12th of July with my husband his passport came back 10days after submission, mine has been on "Application Received" till this afternoon. This is just to encourage does that submitted around that time and still waiting.[/quote]

Mine is actually a visit visa and I submitted since July.

Status is still on Application received.

I also submitted on the 12th of July, Status still says "Application Received ". My husband picked his own 2weeks after we submitted, we submitted together. Someone mentioned yesterday that he submitted on the 10th of July and still waiting as well.

I will suggest you wait till you receive the email before going to DHl. My husband had to go to Dhl office twice after receiving his pickup email, the 1st time they said the passport was still at the embassy, the second time they told him they were expecting the passports later that day, he was able to pick it up around 3pm that day. My status still says Application Received, despite the fact that we submitted together.

Am in same situation right now, I submitted with my husband on the 12th of July, my husband's status changed to issued on the 18th of July, he picked up his passport on the 25th of July, my status has been on Application Received.

Hello House, pls has anyone experienced this before?
I applied to renew my B1/B2 visa via the interview Waiver route(dropbox), I submitted my application with my husband. We submitted on the 12th of July, by the 18th of July my husband application was already approved, status changed to issued on the 19th. He picked up his passport today, I tracked mine and its still showing "Application Received". Have never over stayed my visa, I didn't have a baby. I thought the applications are treated as a family. Pls anyone as experienced this, I will appreciate your input.
