SportsMourinho And Ancelotti Name Their Best Ever XI – No Room For Ronaldo Or Ibrahimo by purplerope(op): 2:56pm On Mar 31, 2020
Currently managing Tottenham Hotspur and Everton respectively, Jose Mourinho and Carlo Ancelotti are two of the most decorated managers in history, and they have followed eerily similar career paths.

Both have managed in London, Madrid, Milan and the north west. Both have had stints in charge of Chelsea and troubled periods at Real Madrid, and while they managed at opposite ends of the Milanese spectrum both enjoyed extremely successful times in Italy’s most fashionable city.

It goes without saying that Ancelotti and Mourinho have presided over plenty of exceptional talents throughout their careers, and they were recently asked by Marca to name a best XI from players they have managed. As you might expect, these lineups would strike fear into opposition hearts, but a few huge names have been left out:

Mourinho’s Best XI

Can you guess which days Jose Mourinho looks back on most fondly? A massive eight of his Best XI spent at least some time at Chelsea during his two reigns at Stamford Bridge,  which is perhaps unsurprising considering he won a trio of Premier League titles and went unbeaten in a massive 77 home Premier League games.

Despite winning a treble at Inter Milan, the only player from that side that makes the grade is Javier Zanetti (in fairness, that was one of the worst Champions League Finals of all time). It was a side built on a formidable back line, but they still weren’t good enough to pip the likes of William Gallas, Ricardo Carvalho or John Terry to the post, who were all part of the team that conceded just 15 Premier League goals in 2004/05.

Claude Makalele played a huge role in that defensive effort too, and that earns him a spot beside Frank Lampard in Mourinho’s Best XI. The appearance of Cristiano Ronaldo, Didier Drogba and Eden Hazard isn’t exactly unexpected, but Mesut Ozil is a surprise inclusion in a three man midfield.

The Arsenal playmaker plied his trade under Mourinho for three years at Real Madrid, scoring 27 goals in 157 appearances and helping Los Blancos win La Liga, the Copa del Rey and the Spanish Super Cup.

Health10 Tips To Control Bedwetting In Children And Adults by purplerope(op): 8:17am On Mar 26, 2020
Bedwetting is a common issue among young children as well as incontinent adolescents and adults. There are many issues that bedwetting can cause, including embarrassment, discomfort and messes. In addition, bedwetting individuals are at risk of damaging their skin by lying in a wet or soiled bed throughout the night. Bedwetting is therefore an issue that must be dealt with properly, rather than accepting it as fact.

With the proper steps, bedwetting occurrences in both children and adult can become less frequent or even stop altogether.

The following 10 tips offer effective ways to stay dry at night.

1. Monitor fluid intake

Although it is important to stay hydrated throughout the day to avoid dehydration, which can irritate the bladder, try to limit fluid intake during the last few hours before bed. This will help ensure that the bladder isn’t working too hard during the night, which can lead to bedwetting.

2. Cut back on caffeine.

Caffeine has been found to increase urine production rate, and it is therefore recommended to decrease intake of caffeinated products including coffee, tea, carbonated drinks, energy drinks and cocoa, especially close to bedtime.

3. Use the bathroom before bed

Before going to bed, empty your bladder fully to help avoid nighttime accidents.

4. Ensure easy access to the bathroom

For many bedwetting individuals, it may be a simple issue of getting to the bathroom in time. This problem is especially likely when dealing with young children, disabled or mature adults, as well as mentally impaired individuals.

The following are several tips to provide safer and easier access to toileting at night:

Clear the path between the bed and bathroom to avoid tripping or falling

Use night lights to help your loved one easily locate the bathroom

Install a raised toilet seat to make it easier for adults with mobility issues to use the bathroom independently

Provide a bedside commode, urinal or bedpan to give immediate access to bedridden adults or those with limited mobility

5. Monitor bowel movements

Constipation can get in the way of effective bladder voiding, so monitor bowel movements to ensure that your loved one is not suffering unnecessarily. If constipation or irregularity is suspected, speak to your doctor about the best way to relieve this issue and thus help avoid nighttime overflows.

6. Use a bedwetting alarm

Bedwetting alarms are an effective way of training incontinent children as well as adults who have primary enuresis (bedwetting since childhood).

Do not use bedwetting alarms for adults who wet their beds at night due to any of the following issues:

Secondary enuresis caused by a disease or condition

Degenerative diseases

Inability to sense when the bladder is full

Physical difficulties getting to the bathroom

Bedwetting alarms sound on detection of urine during the night, which can successfully train adults and children to associate the sensation of a full bladder with getting up to use the bathroom. This method has been proven very effective if used consistently for several weeks.

7. Wearable protection

Until your loved one is trained or cured of their bedwetting issues, you can help keep their skin and their beds comfortably dry throughout the night with wearable protection such as incontinence pads, youth or adult diapers and absorbent underwear, also known as pull-ups. Disposable incontinence products – especially those designed for overnight use – can contain a high amount of liquid and are easily disposed of when soiled.

8. Bedding protection

When wearable protection isn’t sufficient for keeping the linen dry during the night, bed pads can go a long way to protect the part of the bed most likely to get wet or soiled. Purchase cost-efficient and environment-friendly reusable underpads or conveniently disposable bed chucks that offer reliable absorbency and waterproof backing to minimize clean-up after an accident.

9. Mattress protection

Mattress covers and mattress pads won’t keep the bedding dry, but it will protect your mattresses from liquid damage and is an important step to consider if your loved one has bedwetting issues. These products are waterproof and usually easy to wash, and offer reliable protection that will allow for longer mattress life. Keep in mind that although thicker mattress pads do provide better comfort for the user, the thickness also means that washing and drying these pads will take longer.

10. Speak to your doctor

Although bedwetting may be uncomfortable or even embarrassing to discuss, it is important to consult your doctor about your issue. This is crucial because a medical professional can help discover the underlying cause of bedwetting issues, which will make treatment easier and more effective.

Bedwetting can be difficult and frustrating for any caregiver, but it is important to remember the feelings of the incontinent individual as well. Always avoid teasing, blaming and punishing loved ones who suffer from bedwetting issues. Not only will this approach be ineffective, since the problem is out of the child or adult’s control; this may actually make the problem worse. Instead, focus on encouraging and supporting your loved one through this difficult time, and with the help of the above tips, you will be well on the way to dry, stress-free nights becoming the new normal.

SportsThe State Of European Football During The Coronavirus Pandemic by purplerope(op): 1:24am On Mar 24, 2020
The latest quarantines and lockdowns from many countries beg for a simple question: what is currently going on in the world of European football?

Postponements and cancellations

Well, nothing good is going on, there 5 major leagues that have announced postponements of ALL their matches: Italian Serie A, Spanish La Liga, Dutch Eredivisie, Portuguese Primeira Liga, and French Ligue 1 along with Ligue 2. A number of other high-profile matches from different leagues – such as Manchester City vs Arsenal or Sevilla vs Roma – have also been postponed indefinitely.

The same seems to be true for the Premier League and the EFL matches. It became known on Friday morning that the Premier League representatives were holding an emergency video-meeting to decide what to do next. With Arsenal’s coach Mikel Arteta and Chelsea’s forward Callum Hudson-Odoi both tested positive for COVID-19, the fate of the league was certainly under question. Earlier this week three Leicester players have also shown a number of the symptoms attributed to the virus.

The meeting resulted in a decision to delay all Premier League, Championship, League 1 and League 2 matches until at least April 3rd.

Bundesliga

This means that out of major European football countries only Germany is still deciding on its course of action. It is not yet known what will Bundesligaauthorities do. So far they’ve been content with playing matches behind closed doors, but with 2750 confirmed coronavirus cases in Germany (according to the latest data) the Deutsche Fußball Liga may very well decide to proceed with postponements or outright cancellation of the rest of the season.

Update: Bundesliga has also put the upcoming matches on a temporary hold due to “suspicions  of a coronavirus infections in the vicinity of clubs”. And with this, all the major European football leagues are officially waiting for the virus to pass.

UEFA Champions League, Europa League and Euro 2020

Major non-league tournaments – meaning mostly UEFA – are also under stress. On March 12th, UEFA had called for a meeting to decide on their further progress with championships. As the result of this meeting, upcoming Champions League Manchester City vs Real Madrid, and Juventus vs Lyon were postponed along with the Europa League’s between Sevilla vs Roma and Inter Milan vs Getafe. Friday 13th saw the same governing body deciding to postpone all remaining the Champions League and Europa League matches for at least a week.

It is not yet known what all these actions mean for Euro 2020. Yesterday there were rumours that UEFA is considering to delay the tournament until summer 2021, but so far there weren’t any official statements in that regard.

We will be watching the situation closely and try to update you with any upcoming details.

Coronavirus

A coronavirus (COVID-19) reminder: this is an infectious disease that is currently spreading all over the world. It spreads from person to person by droplets or when an infected person coughs or sneezes. The most common symptoms of the virus are high fever, dry cough and a general feeling of tiredness.

How to protect yourself from the infection

The common protection measures for COVID-19:

Regularly and thoroughly clean your hands with soap or alcohol-based solutions (please don’t use industrial alcohol for this purpose);

Maintain the distance of at least 1 metre from other people;

Self-quarantine if you are not feeling unwell. Call your ambulance or hospital phone lines for further instructions if you suspect is under the influence of the virus;

Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth. This is harder than it seems because many of our hand movements are nearly involuntary;

Cover your nose and mouth when you are coughing to not infect other people. Use your elbow for this purpose, not your hands.

Stay safe and healthy, take care of your significant others and people that are close to you.
