TravelRe: At The NVC Processing Stage Of The U. S Family Based Preference Category. by Qeremin(m):
Hi guys,

Looking for some advice.

My US Citizen dad filed for me, my brother and my sister in 2013 so our priority date is November 2013. He should have filed since he was a resident, but that one is a long story for another day.

Last year we got the invitation to start processing before the Trump Ban. I have been based in the UK since the filing, my sister in Nigeria and my brother moved to Germany 2 years later. We didn't know about this marriage causing a change of category from F1 to F3, so my sister got married and so did I, only my brother remained unmarried. During the process of the NVC processing, my sister was advised that her category had changed because she got married. However, mine never changed even though I added my wife and said she was travelling later. I even added my marriage certificate but they never changed my category.

Fast forward to 2021 after the Trump ban was lifted, my brother got his IV and is now in the US. Mine took a while longer but NVC scheduled my interview for next week. Yesterday I got an email from the US Embassy in London saying that I should confirm my marital status as my DS 260 says I am married. I reply confirming that yes I am married and that much is clear from my DS260. They send the following reply back:

"As now you are married, your visa classification changed from F1 to F3. According to the visa bulletin on travel.state.gov, your priority date is not current.

Unfortunately, we need to cancel your upcoming visa appointment.

Please continue to check the cut-off dates on the visa bulletin by visiting www.travel.state.gov when your priority date becomes current."

This email came from an inbox for submitting documents, so I am assuming this is not the person who will conduct the interview?

Now I have no problem with this as I assume my luck has just run out, but alas something is still up. I logged into CEAC, and it shows my Category was now F31. A couple of hours later, it shows my category has reverted back to F11, it is almost as if someone changed it back or there is a glitch in their system. My appointment has not been cancelled and it is still saying I should attend. I was meant to attend my medical today, but I decided not to attend so I don't waste my £350 plus more for vaccines.

I have now been thinking should I attend the Interview since this will not cost me any money, and the worst they can do is refuse it? I have nothing to lose as I am a UK Citizen and I am ok ish here.

What is the advice of this house on this complex case, and has there been any case in the past like this?

The lady said everybody has been reimbursed. That doesnt mean you are lying, it mean by their knowledge and record they have reimbursed everyone.

So get to them and make your complain or else you re OYO.

Had same issue and I had to call them on phone, it took about two weeks of multiply verification but eventually i receive my alert.
How can she say everybody has been reimbursed, the incompetence is mind boggling. How do you get a number to contact them on, 9 months on no reimbursement...this is after sending sevral emails with no response.

Help a brother !

Has any one attempted to call HR? They might give a reasonable time to expect feedbacks.
