This week’s episode of Friday Night SmackDown was interesting, to say the least. It was the first show that was taped ahead of time since the coronavirus pandemic forced a change in how WWE runs its shows, and came not long after reports of multiple wrestlers pulling out of WrestleMania 36 due to that very same pandemic.

Despite that, WWE went ahead with a show that didn’t really address any of the reports and even promoted matches that, according to those very reports, aren’t going to happen.

Roman Reigns pulled out of the show, but WWE spent much of the night promoting his previously scheduled Universal title match against Goldberg. There were reports that an angle would run on SmackDown tonight explaining this and giving us a replacement but that’s not at all what happened. In fact, a replay aired of Reigns vs. Triple H from WrestleMania 32 before Triple H appeared on the broadcast to give a prediction for Reigns vs. Goldberg.

The Miz was also the subject of reports, with word coming that he has been sick and would have to be quarantined. That would mean his not working WrestleMania 36 as previously planned. However, WWE went ahead with airing an angle where Miz & John Morrison interfered in The New Day vs. The Usos to determine who would challenge for the SmackDown tag team titles and an announcement was made that both teams would get the shot in a ladder match.

An angle was shot where Baron Corbin knocked Elias down from a high place and there may be an injury that affects the latter’s status for WrestleMania 36. The match is still on for now, but it was played like that could change.

Drew Gulak defeated Shinsuke Nakamura, which made Daniel Bryan vs. Sami Zayn for the Intercontinental championship official.

Bray Wyatt challenged John Cena to a “Firefly Fun House” match, which would presumably just be how WWE is getting to having the two work a match at a unique set and not in the arena with no fans.

Otis vs. Dolph Ziggler was made official.

The opening segment featured all the wrestlers involved in the SmackDown women’s championship match, without any announcement of a replacement for Dana Brooke. It appears as though the match will go ahead as a Fatal 5-Way instead of a Six-Pack Elimination match.

The problem with Shayna is the same old problem of the main roster not knowing how to handle NXT stars. They've started giving her squash matches, at the chamber, against Kairi Sane of all people that she's had 3 fantastic matches with. Nobody's interested in watching 3-min matches in 2020. Give us time to get invested. Give the performers time to tell a story.
For example, look at how good Cedric and Rico looked against Andrade and Garza even in defeat. Thank God for COVID-19. If it was normal Raw programming, they would have lost under 5 mins.

I still love Becky, but by the gods, I'm tired. They didn't really do anything interesting with her. It was the same story everytime and it got old and boring quick. Her alliance with Charlotte was one of the few interesting things. They could have teased a heel turn, at least. Anyway, it's time for Becky to try a new chapter.

The problem isn't that it was a competitive match, the problem is that everybody knew that they were going to lose the match and so nobody gave a f*ck that they lost, it's the same with a lot of superstars and d same reason y guys like goldberg, undertaker r still wrestling and main eventing, there's no investment with the current crop of wrestlers.....u can replace anybody at anytime and the show will go on.

The problem with Baszler is that she's supposed to be the female version of Brock Lesnar but she can't sell herself(whether on the mic or in ring). When Rousey came, she was a bully and she talked trash which made it easier for her to transition to heel when fans were beginning to get tired of her as face. But Baszler can't even handle the mic properly, just look at her boring interview with Caruso yesterday. She's built as a bully and they started her off on the right note with the vampire antics but it went downhill since then(the useless boring match against Kairi Sane and the crap fest at elimination chamber), there's just no hype around her at all. Her title reign might just be short. Imo they should just build Asuka up again to challenge for the title at least she can wrestle and is interesting to watch.

As for Becky, she just remained the same becky since time immemorial, she became boring to watch especially in the ring and wwe did not help either to give her competition(the title just de like woman assesory for her body). Na siddon look mode activated for her case.

Vaccine is probably next year, quarantine will be at least 3 months so no mass gathering and I doubt a lot of wrestlers will like travelling to come and perform on the offchance they get the virus

Apollo came with a lot of hype from indie wrestling and wasn't even given much time to develop as a character in nxt and so we the audience didn't really connect with him (he was basically a less charismatic Finn balor) and so he wasn't really taken seriously and given a chance when he debuted on raw, Cedric on the other hand basically carried 205 live along with mustapha Ali and was called to raw cos Paul heyman saw something in him and maybe he'll come through and prove he's worthy of his start and stop push.

Succinctly, I have to go with Apollo crews cos I feel he failed and couldn't live up to his potential
