Health / In Emergency Who Should Move Closer To The Victim? by quadraheem(m): 5:58pm On Oct 04, 2023 |
Whenever you see any medical emergency situations especially when those who are professionals in that line are around, we should always give them the priority of moving closer first to rescue the situations. We see that a lot of Nigerians do not know who should go closer to a victim when emergency situations occur. We even see some of our leaders not enlightened about this especially when there are capable and professionals around. What happened at the senate chamber earlier today, despite having a lot of medical professionals around, non medical professionals were the ones moving forward first. In some instances, the emergency personnel will be struggling to get to the location due to overcrowding of onlookers. In some developed countries, all you need to do is to call 911 immediately. Another question might be how equipped and enlightened are our firefighters? Do we even have paramedics amongst our firefighters? We shall get there! |
Politics / People In America To Expect Blaring Phone Alert by quadraheem(m): 6:26am On Oct 04, 2023 |
Americans should expect a blaring phone alert Wednesday at 2:20 p.m ET. That's when the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) will send notifications to phones in a nationwide emergency alert system test. Being that the alert is just a test, there's no cause for panic. It'll be conducted to ensure the Emergency Alert System (EAS) and Wireless Emergency Alerts (WEA) are operational in the event of a national crisis, while also familiarizing the public with the notifications. Those in larger metropolitan areas may have received similar-looking Amber Alerts from this system before. People cannot opt out of the nationwide alert, as even phones set to silent will be subjected to the jarring noise. The alert will read: "THIS IS A TEST of the National Wireless Emergency Alert System. No action is needed." The messages will deploy in English or Spanish, depending on the language settings of the devices. The cell phone test is scheduled to last for about 30 minutes, but consumers can silence the sound as soon as it pops up on their devices. Television and radio stations will also be subjected to the test, and a message will be broadcast across the airwaves indicating an nationwide emergency alert test is in place. Hopefully, we shall have this kind of development in Nigeria soon especially areas with emergency situations. |

Food / Cassava Leaves And Potato Leaves by quadraheem(m): 1:54pm On Sep 24, 2023 |
I recently got to know that cassava and potato leaves are edible and also two very common vegetables in major parts of west African countries. This is not so common here in Nigeria except I don’t know about it. It also commands some kind of good price as it’s been exported abroad. I know we have it in abundance here and we mostly do away with it by cutting off and burning in some cases. We can actually earn foreign currency from it if we add value to it. Do you eat or have you tasted cassava and potato leaves before?

Goodman2023: Why are you ignorantly saying what you do not know about the Muslim doctrine? Check out Quran chapter 2 verse 185 وَلِتُكْمِلُوا الْعِدَّةَ وَلِتُكَبِّرُوا اللَّهَ عَلَىٰ مَا هَدَاكُمْ وَلَعَلَّكُمْ تَشْكُرُونَ 185 |

It’s because the op himself doesn’t understand what international conferences is all about. Participants don’t really need to sit and listen to all speakers but the communique will get to every participants at the end of the conference. The media coverage is the most important of it especially if it’s not the keynote speaker. Other meaningful engagements are going side by side. |

There was a memo being circulated some times ago that GTB can now exchange FX same as the existing rate in the parallel market. How true was this? Has anyone converted money directly from his domiciliary account to naira account in recent time through GTB and given the current rate? Kindly tell us how you went about it. |

Foreign Affairs / Kenya: President Ruto Reinstates Fuel Subsidies Amidst Soaring Pump Prices by quadraheem(m): 1:50pm On Aug 15, 2023 |
In a surprising move, Kenya's President Ruto has reinstated fuel subsidies, signalling a major policy reversal. The decision aims to cushion consumers from the impact of soaring pump prices triggered by the recent arrival of a more economical fuel consignment, which had sent shockwaves through the oil market. The Energy and Petroleum Regulatory Authority (Epra) swiftly stepped in, keeping fuel prices steady in the latest review cycle by reintroducing subsidies. This move averted the looming possibility of pump prices crossing the Ksh200 ($1.39) threshold. https://africa.businessinsider.com/local/markets/kenya-president-ruto-reinstates-fuel-subsidies-amidst-soaring-pump-prices/kjezyf3 1 Like |

OlujobaSamuel: It’s so funny that a lot of people liked this your comment though very misleading. The broken Yellow line means you may pass if the broken line is on your side of the road and safe conditions exist, but you may not pass when a solid yellow line is on your side of the road. The section of the road is carved out for any type of vehicle to pull over not restricted to any type or law enforcement. The broken line simply means you can pass.

Politics / Inciting The General Public by quadraheem(m): 5:48am On Aug 05, 2023 |
It’s always disheartening when you see a lot of headlines, posts, blogs without verifiable sources on social media these days including nairaland just to incite the public and generate reactions. It is always used to incite people and make them have negative feelings about some sections and pour in reactions that may eventually cause loss of lives and properties. What do people actually gain from being the source of destructions? |
