Even degrees don't usually do very much, especially with inferential statistics.

One thing is that inferential statistics is so abstract, that many concepts are hard to grasp even through a 4-year degree.

Look at regression, for example. People look at the commonest, linear regression, and assume that it is straightforward, but then when they realize the expectations, they see that it is abstract. It confounds even postgraduate scholars.

Moreover, even those who teach inferential statistics don't seem to know how to break it down, well enough for people to grasp.

The only reason why I enjoy it is because of its abstract elements which are similar to that of mathematics. I am actually a mathematician. My dad is the statistician.

Some of his books are hard getting into, even for someone like me who works every day with complex formulas.

So, I doubt if there is any online course that can help you with regards to extensive discussion. They will draw you in with promises of the best methodology, and then dash your hope as they struggle to make any sense of complicated concepts.

Could you please recommend an online course that extensively discusses hypothesis testing, Kysquare, Analysis of Var. and Invariable regression?

I skimmed through the curriculum of the ones I got online and they didn't have in-depth discussions on those topics, the one I am currently taking on LinkedIn listed some of them but so far, they aren't going very deep on them.

However, cherry picking can influence how we seek information or even interpret data.

For example, if I want to see if gender predicts arithmetic ability, and I already believe that males are better at maths than females, I will only cherry pick studies with results showing what I want to see (that is, that males are better at maths than females). It wouldn't matter if the data analyzed are representative or otherwise.

A dataset may be representative of the target population, and still be cherry picked by a researcher who is already biased.
