Read this and I had a good laugh, true POS is rampant in Nigeria. True POS is being used to defraud people, I’m glad measures are being put in place. Nice 1 CBN. |
Firstly, great piece. If you’ve not been following news you won’t know sha, but I’m glad that a lot of positivity is ongoing with the Nigerian economy, the fact that this is even ushering the Naira into the global stage is good. More collaborative policies to improve the economy should be encouraged. |
Honestly, lots of reforms are ongoing and I hope in due time we see the results. It’s a good one for even fintechs to drive innovation and what not, also like how they are carrying the public along sha. Na every two market days we dey see wetin Cardoso dey do. Nigeria is home and I do hope things get better. |
This is some good news for once! If the Naira can maintain this stability, we might finally see some relief in the cost of goods. |
Emotionss:while I get your pain, you must understand that Cardoso didn’t do all these, it’s government, terrible people had done ahead to mess things up, he is even trying to remedy the economy, omo we can only be optimistic, for the first time dollar hasn’t climbed. Typical Nigerian dollar would have climbed up! |
I am cautiously optimistic. CBN is moving in the right direction, but until dollars goes back to 180N, I still dey observe. |
DaddyCoool:I doubt they would it’s like a specialized account that would maybe go on these existing apps (idk) but do you all miss the part about investing with the NRNIA for Nigerian in diasporas? And do you all miss the part where you can put your money either in foreign currency or Naira in these accounts and change only at will? |
Bluntemperor:I don’t think you’re grounded in fact. I hope you understand they increased the MPR to 27.50 to tackle inflation, check the headlines everything cardoso has done for the past one year is geared towards tackling inflation’. I don’t know the man but I love and follow through with Nigerian economy news. And this cardoso man makes the news constantly thinking of ways to improve these economy. It may look bad for borrowing but it is tackling inflation, reducing money in circulation and giving investor that confidence they need to invest in Nigeria. Omo make Una Dey follow news abeg |
Yankee101:consistent policy? Consistent policy starts from one policy tho |
ETHIX:needs? You are all complaining the economy is worsening they introduced a policy to increase remittance inflow to the country you all saying weird stuff like “oh they want to track your income” “oh hide your taxes” “cbn rates is not any better” no that’s not what the policy is saying, read digest, don’t poke holes where there aren’t any, if it’s one thing, this policy is geared towards nation building. If we criticize the policies that would help grow the nation? How then would the nation grow? Mind you there’s so many factors contributing to the lackluster of the economy it’s not just the CBN. From these comment section, we as a people are becoming an enemy for change. |
Yankee101:I think our problem is we’ve become so non challant and skeptical much that whatever the policy whether good or bad, we just want to poke holes in them. Let’s do better, accept good changes as they come in and the negative ones, criticize as much as possible, but this one, I don’t think you people are seeing the opportunities in this, think about it, when have you heard dollar skyrocketed again? It’s a normal thing over here but for a while there’s not been a ruckus about it, even during Detty December, guess what your ijgb who came back did that, remittances! Well, I think it’s cause I studied economics hence the advantage, but I do hope I was able to shed light💡 |
koning:I don’t think you are getting the post correctly, the accounts are not necessarily a new platform but specialized accounts that I’m sure would soon become embedded even in your GTB, UBA etc, it’s basically to improve remittances in the country plus it cuts off the hefty charges one simetimes get when sending money home. If you read you will see the opportunities remittances offer the economy,🤦♀️ |
One thing I sincerely like is how active Cardoso has been, more funds from diaspora surely mean more remittance stabilizing the economy, yall just criticizing the policy and not looking at the opportunities it presents |
Great read. Detty December really need to be a discourse because the amount of people that cash out, and you say there’s no money in Nigeria keh… naaa and big ups to the CBN though, or am I the one who truly feels Cardoso is highly active and working hard ? I mean policies are continuously rolled out, can’t wait to see the longterm effect, but I’m positive. |
Emzor has been around for a long time, remember using their medicines as a kid up till this point. It’s great reading something about them and how they are evolving in the world of pharmaceutics |
Interesting read |
