Kelvin had taken them to silver galleria at victoria island to see a movie that friday evening.Afterwards, he drove them to a restaurant for dinner and had encouraged Katherine to take her medications scheduled for 8pm since he had insisted she came with them knowing they will still be outdoors.

Fortyfive minutes on their way back, Katherine was asleep and Mum B had to rest her head on her laps.

In the house fifty minutes later, Kelvin carried her from the car to her room and she didn't for once open her eyes since she was on antidepressants.

Camilla dropped her handbag on the dressing table and looked on while her brother tucked her in and kissed her on the cheek.

She didn't miss the look of sadness she saw before he exhaled and led her out.

'You do love her very much.' Camilla stated perched on the sofa he was sitting in.

'It's complicated sweetheart.' Kelvin said calmly and stared into space.

'I don't like your diction.' She searched his expression, her brows creasing into a frown. 'What is the challenge big bro? '

'Katherine is a very fantastic person, one of the most selfless ladies I know but she has trusting issue because she lost her family in painful circumstances and had to survive in the same vein. What is a relationship when one party cannot trust the other and... 'His voice trailed off and he buried his head in his palm.

Camilla placed her arm around him thoughtfully.

'I loved her before I knew about the horrible experiences she had been through but I couldn't express them because I noticed she had a well masked sadness in her eyes and limit interaction with people as much as possible. I saw the struggle in the hospital.' He swallowed. 'If I do express myself, it's either she reject me or she thinks my words are born from self pity, I don't really know what to do. '

Silence prevailed as they were both lost in their thought.

'All your anxiety and all your cares take to the mercy seat and leave it there. Take it to God, tell him all about it. He specialise in healing all pain and aches. If she is yours, God will make a way.'

He nodded.

'Do your best, take care of her as much as you can. I will pray with you too. With time she would know all humans are not object of devil's remote control.'

Kelvin smiled and looked up at his sister. 'When did you become a counsellor dear Cam?'

Camilla laughed.

Kelvin stood and swept off her feet. 'Time for bed sweet sis.'

Katherine was in the place Kelvin had called his most special place in the house.

Her face was buried in her palms and her body shook in sobs. Her own voice was resounding in her ears based on the conversation she had before she slumped into unconsciousness.

She had been like that for about ten minutes when she lifted her head to wipe her tears.

Then she stood, a piercing pain gripped her entire body that she clutched her abdomen and staggered back to the railings of the balcony where she leaned.

She bit her lower lips fighting back the pain back as fresh set of tears flowed down her face.

Oh God....I have everything I need... all the money I want and more... but the hole is still there...the pains, emptiness and loneliness. I am not enjoying myself. How can I...? .How can I stop wishing that my world hadn't fallen apart. How can I stop wishing that if not all, one of them had stayed to see what Kathy had become.'

Katherine turned just to notice through glassy eyes that a car had driven into the premises. She knew that it was only going to take him a glance upward to know what she had been doing.

She hurried out like an Indian maiden who had been forcefully kissed. She met mum B half way and halted not prepared to meet anyone.

'My dear, what is...?'

She shook her head vigorously denying the yet to be asked question when the proof was all over her face before dashing to her destination.

Mum B stared back at her not knowing what to make of what she saw.

Katherine splashed water on her face, wiped it dry and stared at the mirror for the umpteenth time.

Is my eyes red...is it too red...does it look like I've been crying? She asked her reflection over and over again. She sighed and went to the bedroom.

When she had gotten to the room a couple of hours back, she continued crying unable to help herself. Afraid she would be heard, she placed a pillow over her head.

Now, she felt guilty that he was back for such a duration and she had not gone to welcome him and her conscience won't her be.

She gathered her skirt as she climbed up the rugged stairs to the balcony.

'Hello dearie.' She placed a hand on his shoulder as she came to stand behind him.

'Hello darling.' He looked up at her and smiled. 'Come and sit.'

She sat. 'How was your day?'

'Though major part of it was spent in the production company, it was great.' He dropped his phone on the centre table. 'It is a beautiful wonder to the extent one thought or conversation about a person can attract the person. I just finishing speaking with Doctor Clem and I was thinking about you before you came along. ' He beamed.

She managed a smile and shrugged.

'Tell me, how was your day? Are you through with the book you took from my library?'

'My day? Emmmm...I... I... ' She stuttered and looked down at her palm momentarily before looking at him. 'Kelvin I really appreciate everything you've done for me, your concern and all, I can't stay anymore. '

He just stared at her with a blank expression, if he had been disappointed, she couldn't tell. He just kept staring until she lowered her eyes.

He stood and looked out of the balcony. 'Why tremble Katherine? '

What can she say when her eyes were clouded and blinking was all it took for the dam to break free.

'Camilla told me you hardly spoke today, after your breakfast, you retired to your bedroom. She knew you had lunch because mum B told her you did. You have been crying all day right? ' He waited anticipating a response he knew wouldn't come.

'I won't let you go home to cry unrestricted tears. With your action you've earned yourself an extension.' He said firmly.

She covered her face with her palms and the tears came.

'First thing tomorrow, we are going to see Doctor Clem.'

Camilla and Katherine were seated in the sitting room, Camilla was watching the nollywood movie showing on television while Katherine was reading a movie she had collected from Kelvin's library.

'Have you been to Nigeria before? ' Katherine had a finger between the closed novel on her lap.

'Twice. ' She replied and sat up from the sofa bed she had been lying on. 'Anytime I am on vacation, I make sure coming to Nigeria is part of my plans even if it is for few days so I could see my brother. He is usually excited when I come because my mum and elder sister have phobia of travelling down here. '

'You don't say.'

'If my hear this, she is going to seal my life forever.' Her brows creased. 'It is just that I don't know what they have against the country, not even considering Kelly. In as much I hear his voice over the phone, I long always to see him knowing his more of an introvert.'

'Love ones should always be love ones and distance should not be a barrier. When the distance barrier is bridged, we shouldn't think twice before we cross over. Those moments should always be cherished.' She expantiated, in an attempt to change the path was taking she asked, 'What language do you interprete in the United Nations.'

'Espanol officially. ' She smiled. 'It all depends really.'

Katherine looked at her closely because of the tone of her response. 'Cam, how many language can you speak? '

Camilla laughed. 'Katherine, what's your guess?' She forked a couple of sliced cucumber.

'Three, four.' Katherine shrugged.

She smiled. 'I can speak ten languages. '

'Ten languages? ' She gasped and shifted to the edge of the sofa. 'You are joking!' She was baffled.

'I can speak Espanol, Chinese, Japanese, Spanish, Portuguese, German, Swedish, Dutch, Polish, Italian and French.' She beamed. 'It is only my colleagues that don't go -you're joking!'

'Wow! That's fabulous!' Her eyes shone in pure delight.

She munched. 'I can speak English also.' Camilla added and chuckled. 'Those are languages that when you pull me out of bed and ask me questions in any of those languages, I will be able to reply.'

'Mmmm hmm... that is wonderful! How are you able to achieve that? '

'When I told you I can speak those languages, I also mean writing them. For me, I consider speaking a language with inability to write it incomplete and I don't blow my trumpet on that basis. So there are other languages I can speak properly but can't write well yet. How am I able to achieve that? ' She paused momentarily. 'I believe strongly it is a talent from God. When I determined to become a linguist in high school, I decided to learn, speak and write at least a language every year.'

Katherine had admiration for her. 'I've got lot of respect for you, those are the likes of statement I hear from people that thrills me.'

'Thank you Katherine.'

'I know such determination has ups and downs but what level do you intend taking that to? ' She sipped from the tumbler of pineapple juice.

' I honor invites to interpret for some ministers of the Gospel. I look forward to that point in my life in which I will be able to communicate with anybody from any part of the world.'

'What a wonderful dream to have! How I love you Camilla! I pray God grant to you your heart desires.'

'Amen.' Camilla stood with her saucer and went to perched on the arm of her saucer. 'What's your dream ma'am? ' She handed the saucer, 'Have some.'

'For as long as I remain in SIC and any other place God will have be, I am going to do as much as I can to take it to the top, promote unity among others and make the world a better place.' She munched cucumber.

'My daddy will be so proud of you. I pray God give you all the wisdom. Will you be able to take a stroll outside the gate?'

'I will if Mum B will come with us. So in case I feel faint, I will have two support.' She looked down at the saucer.

'I concur.' She placed an arm around her shoulders. 'I bought you some things.'

'Really?' Katherine smiled up at her.
