But cost of living was lower during OBJ tenure, bag of rice was less than 10k, and Christmas was more fun then, with very little insecurity.

But since Buhari came, it is what it is...

Like For Obasanjo, share For Buhari.
Cost of living was lower under Abacha, does that make Abacha better than Obj and Jonathan?

The problem in PDP can’t be resolved. The problem could have been avoided if they had done the right thing by appropriately zoning the presidential ticket of the party. Now, how do you force the national chairman and deputy national chairman to resign at the same time?

It is also very funny when I see people going about saying Atiku will serve for only a term. Once he becomes president, who will stop him from contesting for a second term? The fact that Ayu, an ordinary party chairman is doing everything not to resign despite agreeing to resign if a Northerner emerges as the party’s presidential candidate says it all.

People can make all sorts of promises before election but once elected, the table changes and they hold all the aces. Whatever concession Atiku makes to the Wike camp at this point is just temporary, he will come after Wike and his group members after the election if he’s elected President.

If Wike and his group cannot support Tinubu, they should simply support Peter Obi. An Atiku presidency after Buhari’s eight years presidency must not happen.
But you people support gej to continue after OBJ rule for 8 years and gej himself for 6years. He still contested with Buhari in 2015 and you people didn't see anything wrong

you can't finish ruling for 8yrs and want the power again, it sound dumb and irrational
But it didn't sound dumb to the South to continue ruling after 8years OBJ + 6years gej. Why did gej contest 2015 election?

Sorry for the delay.

You imagine if there are 2 shops side by side. Both are selling the same kind of bread. One is selling for N250 and the one next to it is selling the same loaf for N100, who will sell more ? Where will demand be very high? Who is losing lots of money? Do you think that business model is sustainable?

That is the problem the government is facing now is that since the government has refused to increase the price is petrol, demand has remained constant even in the face of sky high global prices. The government now needs far more dollars to import petrol than before. That is why this year, it says it needs over N4tr in dollars to import. Next, the subsidy will be N6.5 tr or so. This is more than what is spent on health and education combined. It is just a waste

I remember many years ago, this was probably during the Babangida administration, there was severe kerosene scarcity and there were massive queues at the petrol stations, of people waiting to purchase the commodity. Government suddenly increased the price and the queues disappeared overnight. I was shocked.
Thank you my friend. So if subsidy is gone demand will reduce and less dollars will be needed to import petrol. Na gode

What is weird is that at a time of high oil prices when dollars should be flowing into the country, rather than the Naira able to stand firm, it is rapidly declining.

The primary causes are :

1. An official exchange rate which is not market reflective.

2. The excess amount of money needed to cover oil subsidy amounting to over ₦4tr is simply not sustainable.
Please educate me, how does subsidy payment affect exchange rate? Thank you

Buhari has broken my heart. I strongly recommend he should take me back to 2015 when Dollar to Naira was 165, Petrol was 87 and a bag of rice was 8,000.
And you think the price will still be this even if Jonathan is the president?

Why politicising the issue?

Yes, insecurity has risen, but it is the same everywhere in the world, due to job losses and economic meltdown arising from the oil slump, the lockdowns, and all that.

Last month, May 25, a gunman entered a primary school in the United States, and killed 19 pupils. Is that also the fault of Buhari?

People don't use their brain on this forum. Everything is always blamed on Buhari or Fulani while the real criminals go free
