PoliticsRe: When Will Nigerians Have Sense To Highly Patronize Our Local Rice Farmers ? by Questionnaires(op): 11:20pm On Feb 14, 2024
Raf4:
Are we not patronising local rice farmers or they are the one killing us?
A bag of local rice was less than 10k/bag then FGN closed the border, placed embargo on importation of foreign rice, gave billions to local rice farmers in the name of grants, inputs/seedlings, anchor-borrowers, CBN interventions, BoA interventions etc. Today, the same local rice they were selling @ 7k/50kg some few years back is being sold for above 60K/50kg bag.
Are You Blaming Rice Farmers For All of The COMMODITY INFLATION in Nigeria ?

It Appears You Expect The Price of Local Rice To Remain At 7,000 Naira Per 50 KG When The Cost of Everything in Nigeria Are Skyrocketting.

Your question doesn't even exist in the first place, because more than 99% of rice in the Nigerian market right now is Nigerian rice. Your question should be: Why are our rice farmers trying to kill Nigerians through acute hunger occasioned by their exorbitant pricing??
Where Did You Get Your Fact About 99% of Rice in Nigeria Being Locally Produced in Nigeria ?

Kindly, Proof This.

Your Assertions Here Tells That You Don't Know Anything About The Distribution of Rice in Nigeria.

There are not enough local rice in the market....demand outstrips local cultivation and processing.

Go to local processing mills in rice growing communities, rice traders have bought them off, while still paddy.

Even though not based in Nigeria, every year I see to it that I have grown and processed on my behalf at least 700kg of rice as rice is grown where I come from

You Are Quite Right With Your Analysis From Your Living in The UK.

You See; The Way Forward To This Issue is That We Need More Nigerians In Diaspora Like You To Invest in Farm Machineries Like Destoners And Polishers Particularly in Your Local Government Areas Where You Hail From.

This Will Go A Long Way In Empowering More People From Your Family And Friends.

That's How Life Should Play.

But You See The Problem:

We All Want To Put All The Loads on The CORRUPT GOVERNMENT of NIGERIA Which is Lame.

We Need To Step Up Our Agricultural Processing Game in This Country And Quit With The Mentality That We Cannot Trust or Empower Our Indigenous People.

I Stand For The Betterment of Every Nigerian Farmer!

I Am The Voice of The Nigerian Farmers That Cannot Come Online To Write Up Their Needs.

I Do Not Request For Your Investments.

I Only Implore You To Agriculturally Invest in Your Villages And (Local Government Areas).

This Way; We Will Surely Grow!

Nigerians prefer long grains, well polished rice with a slight golden appearance

If a local rice can appear like that, sale at a price cheaper than foreign rice, no body would buy foreign rice except maybe Basmati
For Sure, We Have Surplus of Rice That Are Long Grains.

The Government Recently Supplied The Local Farmers with Long Grain Paddy Rice Called "Canada".

The Issue is That it would take Willing And Wise Investors To Get Destoners And Polishing Machines To Clean Up And Polish The Rice.

Some Wise Nigerian Investors are Already Stepping in Particularly in Abakaliki in Ebonyi State. However, We Need Investors To Also Spread Across To The Rural Regions of Cross River State To Invest in These Machineries.

Alot of Profits To Be Made Here.

Nigeria rice in Lagos is 67k

Foreign rice is 70k

Difference is just 3k.

Nobody will leave foreign rice for local at that price
That's Expensive.

And This Presents A Business Opportunity For Those Who Can Take Advantage of It in Lagos Then:

1 Bushel of Local Rice = 25 KG

2 Bushel of Local Rice = 50 KG

We Currently Sell Local Rice @ 53,000 Naira For 2 Bushels of Rice.

You Can Waybill To Lagos For 5,000 Naira Per Bag; And Sell @ 62,000 Naira.

This will give 8,000 Naira Difference.

Wise Rice Merchants Can Take Advantage of This Financial Information.

Information is Power.

When will Nigerian farmers have the sense to prioritize quality? When will agric grants get to the end users so they can make good use of it? undecided
Our Nigerian Rice is Quality Enough Already.

What is Needed is For The Nigerian Government To Support The Local Rice Farmers With Machineries Like:

Rice Destoners, and
Rice Sievers.

These will help Our Local Rice Farmers Have Easy Access To Clean Their Rice To Be Void of Stones.

Our Local Farmers Are Doing Well in Their Own Capacity.

The Right Question You Should Ask is:

When Will The Nigerian Government Make It A Priority To Equip Rice Farmers with Necessary Equipments so they can be able to Meet Up With The Required Standard Needed By Most People.
PoliticsReason For High Cost Of Food: Politicians Aren't Investing On The Right Youths by Questionnaires(op): 7:02am On Feb 14, 2024
The Reason For The Increasing High Cost of Food in Nigeria is Simply Because:

1) Politicians Aren't Investing On The Right Youths That Are Fully Engaged in Agriculture.

We Need Politicians To Be Polite.

To Be Polite Means To Be Humble.

To Be Humble Means To Observe And Serve Agriculture.

We Need Our Nigerian Politicians To Begin Investing in Nigerian Youths That Are Actively Engaging in Agriculture.

This is The Only Way To Boost And Improve Food Supplies And Food Security.

With Abundance of Foods And Enough Jobs in The Agricultural Sector; Kidnapping will Reduce in Nigeria.

The Poverty of Insecurity of Human Lives And Properties Is Mainly Caused By The POVERTY OF HUNGER AND STARVATION In Nigeria.

So, Read This Clearly Again:

Politicians Aren't Investing On The Right Youths That Are Fully Engaged in Agriculture.

This is The Reason For Limited Food Production in Nigeria.

If You Are A Politician Reading This;

Try To Be Polite.

Invest In The Agricultural Endeavours of Nigerian Youths in Your Locality. Encourage Them.

You Can Imagine if 774 Politicians in 774 Local Government Areas Invest Rightly in Promising Agricultural Youths in Nigeria; Don't You Think More Politicians Will Follow And Immitate These Needed Societal Solutions Generosity ?

It's POLITE O'CLOCK.

It's Time To Begin To Enforce Our Local Politicians in Our Locality To Begin To Invest in The Food Security of Nigeria Through Youths That Are Actively Engaging In Agriculture.

It's Time To Be POLITE.

Pictures Below: Sac Yam Farming And Ugwu Farming in A Small Scale...

Our Mission is To Expand This Initiative Across The 774 Local Government Areas Through An Entertaining Reality Television Show Series Right Here in Cross River State.

The Youths Love Reality TV Shows.

The Politicians Love Reality TV Shows.

If We Can Get Deliberate Agricultural Planation Solutions Like Sack Farming for Yame And Ugwu Across Nigeria Through A POVERTY ALLEVIATION REALITY TELEVISION SHOW SERIES (PARTSS); Then We Can Get Nigerian Politicians Actively Investing On The Right Nigerians.

It's POLITE O'CLOCK.

Yes,a lot of solar power companies are already doing that for homes and offices.

There are even Nigeria companies that are doing better

It's just that the government is not encouraging it , they can sponsor nigerians to acquire the knowledge so as to make it affordable for nigerians

But Many Others Have Their Prices So High.

When the local rice offers same quality as imported rice at the same or lower price

It's not rocket science
Our Local Rice Offers Better Quality Than Imported Rice Since Time Immemorial.

Nigerians Like You Are Just Ignorant of This Fact.

All Local Rice Produced By Our Local Farmers Are Generally Patronized And Consumed Within 1 To 9 Months.

Hence; They Still Provide All The Necessary Nutrients To Us.

However; Many of The Imported Rice Conveyed To Nigeria Are Bags of Rice That Have Overstayed Their Storage Time of 10 Years in International Countries Where They Bring Them From.

So, Please - Be Guided.

People should endeavor to convert from PHCN To Solar Energy As Solar Energy is Safer, Cheaper And Better.

A Family Running on Solar Systems Can Never Experience Such Fire Disasters Caused By The Irregular High Voltage of Electricity Supplied By PHCN Sometimes.

The permanent solution is to make Nigerians rich enough to be able to afford electricity

90% of people who can afford 24 hours electricity have 24 hours electricity and they pay minimum of 200k a month to get that which is relatively cheap for me

Electricity has never been an issue in Nigeria people just assume its an issue... Most Nigerians just have this wishful thinking of have cheap and constant electricity

Ask Ghanaians, south Africans, Cameroonians and the rest how much they pay for electricity bill per month

We want constant electricity but we don't need it right now
Hmmmm.

This is another deep direction less talked about.

Constant Electricity Comes with Enough Money To Pay For The Bills.
