Ok, Now thats a good idea.
Try to learn as much as possible through the free host smf forum you installed.
Dont be in a haste. Any thing good always takes a lot of time.
My host company are based in The USA. They take credit cards and paypal.
They give 750GB for each registration with Cpanel 11 to make things easy for you.
Then the excellent fantastico deluxe to install every script you need.
Also you can have as many as 5 different domain names and as many as 10 differnt websites inside the one account you registered with them.
I only pay them $4.99/month.
But its sure worth it.
I have only one account with them
and i am hosting three websites on the account with options to host more if i want.

Thanks a lot, i would prefer a yearly paymeny plan, and i hope it will be easy to pay from Nigeria, i am really interested to start hosting right away, but then you said, anything good takes time, What and what skills would you advice me to focus on, as per the hosting so that
1. Security
2.storage so i wont lose data or just wake up one day and the forum is gone
3precautions to take as per back up and general maitainance and running, any pitfall for a beginer?

perhaps i will also try out some of the things you mentioned, its better to be educated and have an idea of the thing and have commercial webmasters handle only very complex details if the need arise. thanks.

i saw your qualifications, more than remarkable, very sound, i couldnt help but go through the rest of the thread and guess what? i was more than impressed. by the way though this has nothing to do with computers, 1. how do i learn deaf signs and is there a universal deaf language or the american version is different, i would prefer the uk version if thats the case, please i would like to get ebooks on deaf signs i really want to learn and if there are softwares as well please i wont mind getting some from you thanks.
back to the topic- i still want to become a webmaster, not commercial per se but to handle my personal sites, (i dont need clents)

Thanks for your response, if not for you no one else was yet to dignify my post come naive question with an answer i do not intend to duplicate my post though (my other post is strictly on how to create and manage a forum, i have the feeling that forum admin do not need to be lords of the web).
I do not intend to be a guru in web development design and management in order to sell my services to others but ostensibly i want the skills to manage my personal network of sites (though i intend to start with a forum)!!
since a DUMMY can manage a forum i really wont mind learning on the job over the next few years as i integrate more chllenging site into my network of sites, i am ready to read books-learn tricks-get infos from people i can call friends (like you) albeit internet pals, thanks!!

well i have done the set up, i am at this moment at the admin center setting up the borads and making "my Rules", Otherwise BAN!! LOL, next will be the Hosting when i am done and on like most new forums in nigeria, its not going to be a general forum, its a specialised forum for people of a partiocular profession, though there is a general section where the layman can ask questions, as par traffic, well it wont be a headache, like my master always say, CONTENT IS KING!! thanks a lot

Thanks lot, i was abl to get a progra where i can run it, its called a local host, eventually i will load it to any webhost i chose, now am designing it, in the ADMIN CENTER. SMF version 1.15, thanks
