A quick note for anyone posting about an account or payment issue here: be careful with the private messages that follow.

Someone replying immediately, using our logo and knowing the details of your problem may simply have read your public post.

If they offer to unlock a transfer for a fee, ask you to move money to a safe wallet, or request a live 2FA code, stop there.

Open the Quppy app or type the official site address yourself and use the support channel listed there. Don’t use the link supplied by the person you’re trying to verify.

You can discuss a problem publicly without making your account details public too.
Nairaland General › Re: QUPPY - Multicurrency Cross-platform Cryptowallet (quppy.com) by Quppy(op): 4:32pm On Oct 21
Suppose you want to turn some crypto into €500 for a payment.

The transfer fee is one part of the cost. You also need to know how much crypto you’ll exchange to get those euros, what rate applies, and whether any other charges are involved.

That’s why “0%” on its own tells you surprisingly little.

Quppy currently applies no Quppy transfer fee to supported personal EUR and GBP fiat transfers. The exchange is a separate operation with its own quote, and external blockchain transfers can carry network costs.

A useful comparison starts with the same amount, the same destination currency and roughly the same moment in time. Then look at what you actually receive.

That number deserves the biggest font on the screen.

Nairaland General › Re: QUPPY - Multicurrency Cross-platform Cryptowallet (quppy.com) by Quppy(op): 3:51pm On Oct 20
There’s a particular kind of frustration in watching a transaction sit on “pending” while refreshing the screen every thirty seconds.

Before trying again, find out where it stopped:
No transaction hash yet: check whether the sending platform has actually broadcast it.
Hash exists, confirmations missing: check the network status in a blockchain explorer.
Confirmed on-chain, balance still missing: the receiving provider may still be processing or reviewing it.
For a Quppy support request, the useful starting details are the asset, network, amount, time and transaction hash, if available. A screenshot of the status helps too.

One complete request gives support something to investigate. Sending the payment a second time gives you a second payment to investigate.
Nairaland General › Re: QUPPY - Multicurrency Cross-platform Cryptowallet (quppy.com) by Quppy(op): 1:37pm On Oct 19
“Which network?” is a useful question to ask before sending someone a stablecoin payment.

“Whichever is cheaper” is a risky answer.

A lower withdrawal fee only helps if the receiving wallet supports that network for that particular asset. The same ticker on both screens doesn’t settle it. Even an address that looks familiar isn’t enough.
When transferring into Quppy, start with the receiving details shown for your account, then match them on the sending platform. Availability can differ by region, so someone else’s setup is a poor shortcut.

For a new destination, a small test transfer can be worth the extra fee. Just check the receiving platform’s minimum deposit first.
Not the most exciting part of crypto. Still better than spending your evening trying to recover a transfer.

Things that are not five minutes: the mate who's five minutes away, hold music that says five minutes, pasta that says five on the box, a "quick" call that opens with five.

The form is: an ID, a selfie, a few basic questions. Verification takes as long as it takes — that part isn't five minutes, and it shouldn't pretend to be. Once it's through, the euro account, the IBAN and the crypto side are there.

Still can't do anything about the hold music: quppy.com

"Convenient" is the word that gets used, and it undersells it. What changes isn't one feature, it's a pile of small frictions.

- No moving funds between platforms just to exchange them or put them to use
- One verification and one account to keep up instead of two of each
- Small balances are less likely to sit stranded — nobody bothers shifting €40 across platforms
- One transaction history instead of two exports to reconcile
- Euros received in the account are usable where the crypto side is managed

None of it is dramatic on its own. It adds up: less handling, fewer steps between having the money and using it.

That's the setup Quppy runs: quppy.com

Wallet security advice is boring because the boring parts are the ones that hold. Seed phrase offline. A password that isn't reused anywhere else, on a device that locks. Unexpected messages from "support" treated as suspicious until proven otherwise.

The one with no undo is the seed phrase. No support desk can reset it, ours included. A password gets changed, a device gets replaced; that one can't, which is why it stays offline rather than somewhere convenient.

That's what gives the phishing rule something solid to stand on: Quppy support never asks for a seed phrase and never messages first. A message doing either has answered the question for you.

How to get an invoice paid in euros when your money lives in crypto

The last few updates here were about the licensing side. This one is duller and probably more useful.

Freelance invoices stall in the Bank details box. Accounts payable pays account numbers — that's the shape of the job, and explaining a wallet address has never once worked.

Steps:
1. Copy the euro IBAN from your Quppy account. Same number every time, so it goes into your invoice template once.
2. Put the beneficiary name and that IBAN in the Bank details box, exactly as they read in the app.
3. Ask for the invoice number in the payment reference. Costs them nothing, and it's how you match the payment later without guessing.
4. Their finance team sends an ordinary SEPA transfer, and if their bank supports SEPA Instant it lands in seconds, otherwise it's the usual working day.
5. The euros arrive in the same account you buy crypto from, so the next move is a conversion, not another transfer.

The one detail we'd check twice is the beneficiary name. It has to match the name on the account. A mismatch is the usual reason a payment sits in limbo, and that's a week you don't get back.

If you invoice EU clients in euros, it's already on the account you've got. Nothing to switch on.

MiCA settled who's actually allowed to offer crypto in the EU, and not everyone stuck around

Context for anyone who tuned the regulation news out: MiCA (Regulation (EU) 2023/1114) is the EU's crypto rulebook, and its regime for crypto-asset service providers is now live, with national transitional windows running into 2026. Offering crypto services in the EU now means being authorised as a CASP, or working through a partner who is.

What that actually changed
It split the field. Authorisation is slow and unglamorous: capital and custody requirements, audits, paperwork, the stuff nobody posts screenshots of. Some platforms went through it. Others quietly narrowed what they offer in the EU, geoblocked certain products, or stepped back from the market instead. That's the observable pattern rather than a doomsday read — plenty of solid options are still here, they just had to earn the right to be.

Where Quppy lands: we stayed, and the crypto side now runs through a licensed European partner regulated under MiCA (a CASP). Buying crypto from your euro balance in the app happens inside that authorised regime, not around it. We're not the licence holder ourselves; the crypto service is provided through that regulated partner, which is the accurate way to put it.

For anyone building or moving money in the EU right now: has MiCA actually changed where you'd route a crypto buy, or is it business as usual with more forms?
Nairaland General › Re: QUPPY - Multicurrency Cross-platform Cryptowallet (quppy.com) by Quppy(op): 11:05am On Jul 30
"Regulated crypto" — what does that phrase actually buy you?

It gets thrown around a lot, usually as a marketing sticker, so some skepticism is fair. Here's the concrete version, minus the badge.

When a crypto service is run by a European provider licensed under MiCA (a CASP), a handful of things stop being promises and become obligations:

- Client funds are meant to be held separately from the company's own money, so your balance can't quietly turn into the provider's working capital
- There's an actual supervisor: a named regulator that can audit, ask questions, and pull the licence
- There's a real complaint route with a body behind it, not a support inbox that goes nowhere
- The rules are published, and they can't be rewritten overnight to suit the platform

None of that touches market risk. Your coin can still drop 30% on a Tuesday, and no licence changes that. What regulation covers is how the company behaves — custody, disclosure, keeping your funds where they belong. Two different risks, worth keeping separate in your head.

On Quppy the crypto side runs through exactly this kind of MiCA-regulated European partner, which is why we keep drawing the line between "the market is risky" and "the operator is accountable."

Honest question for the room: when you choose where to buy or hold crypto, how much weight do you put on the operator's regulatory status versus fees and features?

Quppy is now live in five more SEPA markets

Following earlier notes here on euro IBANs and SEPA Instant, the reach just expanded.

Quppy went live in five new markets — Albania, North Macedonia, Montenegro, Moldova and Serbia. What makes it matter isn't just "more countries": all five have joined SEPA. Euro transfers that used to take days and carry international-transfer pricing now move at domestic speed and domestic cost.

From day one in these markets you get the full feature set:

EUR and GBP IBAN accounts

SEPA and SEPA Instant transfers (Instant settles in seconds, 24/7)

Crypto wallets with instant exchange

0% fee card top-ups, and withdrawals to your own card
Worth being precise about one thing: it's SEPA membership that unlocks the cheap, fast euro transfers — that's a payments-network change, not a Quppy-specific trick. What Quppy adds is making the whole stack (IBAN + crypto + exchange) available in those markets from launch, in one app.

quppy.com

Anyone here banking in the Western Balkans or Moldova — how's the SEPA rollout actually landing on the ground for you?

USD stablecoins or EUR stablecoins — which should you actually hold?

People tend to treat all stablecoins as interchangeable "digital dollars-ish." They're not, and picking the wrong one can quietly cost you on FX.

USD-pegged coins like USDT and USDC are the most liquid in the market and the default for anything priced in dollars or moving across borders. Euro-pegged coins like EURC and EURT are newer and MiCA-regulated, and they shine when your money lives in euros — you skip converting into dollars and back.

The trap worth naming: if you earn in EUR and park it in USDT, you've effectively bought dollars without deciding to. The FX risk doesn't vanish — it just shows up later when you swap back to euros, sometimes after the rate has moved against you.

So the rule of thumb is to match the stablecoin to the journey: dollar destination, hold dollars; euro flow, hold euros. Don't pay a spread by accident.

Quppy supports USDT and USDC with instant EUR/GBP conversion, so you can switch sides when the trip actually calls for it.

How do you handle this — hold both, or just convert per transaction?

Quppy is now live in 36 African countries — what this means and why it matters

Quick update from our side: Quppy has officially expanded to Africa. 36 countries now have full access to the platform.

What's available
The full stack, same as EU users — no stripped-down "lite" version:

- IBAN accounts in EUR and GBP
- Crypto wallets — BTC, ETH, USDT, USDC, LTC, BCH, TRX
- Instant card top-ups at 0% fee (Visa/Mastercard, minimum €5)
- Card withdrawals to any Visa or Mastercard worldwide
- Crypto-to-fiat exchange within the app

KYC takes about 5 minutes. Funding works via Visa card (instant) or SEPA transfer from any EU bank.

Why Africa, why now
Africa has some of the fastest-growing crypto adoption rates globally. Nigeria, Kenya, and South Africa consistently rank in the top 20 for P2P crypto volume. But most users in these markets face a specific gap: getting between crypto and traditional banking is either expensive, slow, or both. Having a European IBAN connected to crypto wallets in one app addresses that directly.

The covered countries include Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia, Egypt, Kenya, Nigeria, South Africa, Ghana, Tanzania, Ethiopia, and 26 more across the continent.

What this doesn't change
Same EU-licensed, MiCA-compliant infrastructure. Same security. The expansion is geographic, not architectural.

quppy.com

Anyone here based in or operating across African markets? Curious to hear what crypto-to-fiat tools you've been using and where the biggest gaps are.

Buying a dip: traditional platform vs. instant card top-up

Last week we talked about 0% card top-up fees. This week the market gave us a live example of why speed matters just as much as cost — BTC dropped from $71K to $66K in a few days.

The traditional route:
You see the dip. You initiate a bank transfer to your exchange. SEPA takes a few hours if you're lucky, a full business day if not. Wire transfer? 2-3 days. By the time your funds arrive, the price has already bounced. Some platforms offer card deposits to skip the wait, but charge 1.5-3% for the privilege. On a €1,000 deposit, that's €15-30 gone before you've bought anything.

The Quppy route:
Card top-up with any Visa or Mastercard. Funds land in your account instantly. 0% fee, minimum €5. Convert to BTC, ETH, USDT, or any other supported asset directly in the app. Total time from "I want to buy" to "I own it": under 2 minutes.

The difference isn't just convenience — it's whether you catch the price you actually wanted or the price you got stuck with.

quppy.com

For those who actively buy dips — what's your current funding speed? Are you still waiting on bank transfers or have you found faster routes?

What 0% card top-up fees actually mean for your capital

In our last update we covered how Quppy connects crypto holdings to a European IBAN. This time, let's talk about what happens before the crypto swap — getting fiat into your account in the first place.

Most platforms charge 2-3% on card deposits. That sounds small until you do the math: deposit €1,000 and you're already down €20-30 before you've done anything. Do that weekly, and you're losing over €1,000 a year just on deposits. That's not a fee — that's a tax on participation.

Quppy charges 0% on card top-ups. The minimum is €5, and there are no hidden markups, no "processing surcharges," no weekend premiums. What you send is what lands in your account.

Here's how it works in practice:

- Link any Visa or Mastercard to your Quppy account
- Top up your EUR or GBP IBAN — funds arrive instantly
- No percentage cut, no flat fee, no currency conversion markup
- Works 24/7, including holidays — same conditions regardless of timing

Once the fiat is in your IBAN, you can use it for SEPA transfers, convert to crypto internally, or just hold it. The point is: 100% of your capital is available from the moment it arrives.

For context — Quppy operates under EU VASP licensing (Digital Lamp sp. z o.o., Poland) with MiCA compliance. KYC takes about 5 minutes in the app.

quppy.com

For those of you who regularly move fiat in and out of crypto — what deposit fees are you currently paying? Curious whether 2-3% is still the norm or if the market is starting to shift.

Locked out of your own USDT? The "Insufficient funds" trap. 🚪🛑

It’s the classic rookie mistake. You set up your first wallet, receive stablecoins, and immediately hit an error when trying to make a payment. You have the money, but the transaction just won't go through.

Your wallet is your starting door to the digital economy, but opening it isn't free. The network charges a toll (gas) for every single action you take.

The catch:

This toll is strictly paid in ETH.

You cannot use your stablecoins to cover the network fee.

Zero ETH on your balance = your tokens are stuck.

The fix is simple: Always fund a new wallet with a little bit of ETH before receiving any other tokens. Treat it as the fuel for your wallet's engine.

Keep your assets moving without the technical headaches.

Choose your route, keep your costs down 🛣️

Quppy lets you reach the same goal via two clear paths. You can load your balance via Card → IBAN (a great move right now with our >50% December fee discount) or swap Crypto → IBAN if that suits your strategy better.

You always see the final rate and fees before you confirm, so the choice is yours. One app, two routes, same outcome: funds ready to use without app-hopping.
