CrimeUK Court Sentences Nigerian Teenagers To Jail Over “gangsterism” by r231(op): 7:06pm On Dec 19, 2012
Two Nigerian teenagers Nelson, Idiabeta and Nathaniel Okusanya, today bagged long time jail terms for killing Kwame Ofosu – Asare, a 17 year old student while mistaking him for a rival gang member.

The pair were members of the TN1 gang – Trust No One – out to avenge one of their member who was stabbed by a rival gang member from the GAS gang – Guns and Shanks – just hours earlier.

They had toured housing estates in Brixton to find rival gang members and came upon 17-year-old Kwame and his friend, who had nothing to do with any gangs.

He was reportedly coming from the studio with his friend were he went to record a track for his mum before he was attacked.

The duo stabbed the trapped Ghanaian 14 times penetrating his lungs and liver while his friend managed to jump the wall.

A court in the early hours of Wednesday sentenced Idiabeta and Okusanya to jail for 19 and 20 years respectively.

After an Old Bailey jury found the pair guilty Nelson Idiabeta, now 18 was jailed for a minimum of 19 years while Nathaniel Okusanya, 19, was jailed for 20 years.

Sentencing Judge Richard Marks QC said: ‘I am entirely satisfied having heard the evidence the background to this terrible offence is to be found in revenge between two gangs. The attack took place in the Moorlands Estate in Brixton on the March 2 2012.

He was a sixth-form student of Forest Hill School and excelled in sport, music and acting. He moved to London from Ghana in 2002.

TravelSite Of First Plane-crash In Nigeria To Become Tourist Attraction by r231(op): 6:38pm On Dec 19, 2012
The site of the first plane crash recorded in Nigeria in 1942, in Ikogosi, Ekiti West Local Government Area of Ekiti State, southwest Nigeria, is to be converted to a tourist centre.

The decision to turn the site into a tourist centre was disclosed when the Special Adviser to the State Governor on Tourism Development, Segun Ologunleko, inspected the crash site on Wednesday in Ikogosi-Ekiti. He said this would turn the state into an attractive tourism destination in West Africa.

Ikogosi town, which is famous for playing host to Ikogosi spring – a water body where warm and cold water meet on the same spot, is expected to complement the new tourist site when it comes into operation.

Visible at the site of the crash were the relics of the two engines of the plane and other aluminum and metal scrap materials.
