There is growing tension and unrest in Rivers State secondary schools following reports that some Principals, Vice Principals, Head Teachers, and their Deputies are being punished for allegedly supporting former Governor Nyesom Wike.

According to reports, several Principals perceived to be loyal to Wike have been transferred to schools with poor and unconducive working conditions, while others have reportedly been removed from their administrative positions and redeployed to classroom teaching duties after serving for many years as Principals or Vice Principals.

A source within the Rivers State Universal Basic Education Board (RSUBEB) alleged that officials were instructed to use any available excuse to demote or redeploy school administrators believed to be loyal to Wike. This development has generated widespread concern within the education sector.

One teacher from a secondary school in Port Harcourt appealed to the Nigerian Union of Teachers (NUT) to intervene and prevail on Governor Siminalayi Fubara to reverse the alleged directive. The teacher emphasized that not all affected administrators are political loyalists, stressing that many of them are career civil servants who have faithfully carried out their duties without violating any civil service rules.

Further investigations revealed that the Board allegedly relied on questionable grade-level justifications to demote some school heads. A source at the Board described the action as improper and contrary to civil service procedures, noting that it is wrong to remove a duly appointed school head or vice principal who has not been found guilty of any misconduct or breach of civil service regulations.

The source further questioned the rationale of asking a school administrator to vacate office and return to classroom teaching solely on the grounds that there are teachers senior in rank within the same school, despite the individual having been formally appointed to the position.

In view of these developments, stakeholders are calling on Governor Siminalayi Fubara to urgently look into the matter. Reports indicate that several affected administrators have refused to vacate their offices or hand over, insisting that due process must be followed.

Stop the propaganda. Stop the lie.s. There's nothing like this going on in the board.

If you re refering to "Data collection form for 2025 promotion exercise", yes.
But, it's a single form given to principal to fill for all their staff and submit. This form has been given for at least three weeks now and many principal/ their delegated personnel have fill and submitted same to board.

We didn't pay any money...the issue did not even come up..we didn't go either...our principal filled for all of us.

I don't think anything will happen o because they didn't attend to us according to LGA. As far as you have your filled verification form, last promotion letter and ID, you'd be attended to. They didn't ask of the LGA you belong. Talking about my experience today. Just go early

The process at Ministry of Justice is fast and coordinated. For you to enter the place, you must show your form signed by your principal and zonal director to the security, then the next place is where you arrange the required documents which are: BVN, First Appointment, Last Promotion, ID card and the filled form. You won't spend up to 10 minutes the moment you enter there cos there are so many people attending to us. And they are so civil and friendly.

Thank you. I just came back from Obi-Wali Conference center. It's also seamless. I was asked for the filled and signed form with passport, last promotion and ID card.

Please those who are in Obiwali today should update us o. Is it up and down they are using?

Which official channel did this information coming from apart of you saying it here. Let me ask, are you part of the recruitment team? An information was posted that the shortlisting would end by 30th of July. Why are we like this? Why shouting this here and there in this forum without explaining how you got the information.

But it's obvious na, haba. Do you need official statement to know someone not seeing anything on their dashboard concerning their application is not shortlisted?
