Music/RadioPopular Slangs Used By Nigerian Artistes by Rajcos(op): 11:45am On Oct 14, 2019
The usage of slangs in songs is now a common trend among not just Nigerian artistes, but also international artistes. For example, DJ Khaled goes with another one at the start of his songs, Cardi B calls out her name Cardi and so on.

In Nigeria, artistes seem to be in competition for the reigning slang. This is why they keep evolving various slangs over time. For example, D'banj was once known for screaming, File in his songs before adopting koko and now, very recently big fish or eja nla or Banga Lee.

Here, we make a compilation of reigning slangs most often used by Nigerian artistes. Note, at times, it can be the artiste's name. Example is Burna Boy who loves chanting Oluwaburna before his songs.

Mr. Eazi- Zagadat
Peruzzi- Prebembem
Davido- Shekpe
Wizkid- Na na na na
Slim Case- Saintsamiganja
Patoranking- Wahyahsay
Yemi Alade- oh oh ah
Timaya- Chulo
Zlatan Ibile- Kapaichumaremachupako
Naira Marley- Marlian
Small Doctor- Hain Hain Hain
Burna Boy- Oluwaburna
D'Banj- Eja nla
.
.
Which of the slangs do you find the weirdest? For me, I'll say Zlatan's because I don't know the meaning. Do you think we left anyone out, use the comment section.
