If you don't pretend about the truth, then you should have no issues about what I said too coz it is the truth too. Two truths can co-exist. |

Utalinmou: It's unfair to say that Trump has thrived on divide to rule. As it stands now he is the only one bringing world peace again Trump has always being a "We against them" person. Right from when he first contested in 2016 till now. Look at what is happening in the US today. The country is more divided than ever. |

GeneralDae: If the U.S do this alone, are you sure they would care to easily differentiate who the herder terrorists are from amongst the people in Benue and Plateau? Do they even know or care about the dynamics of the conflict in the middlebelt except for the simplistic “Muslims are killing Christians Slogan”? Do you think this would be easy and quick as Trump boasted and would he care if it spirals into something else? Exactly what I have been thinking about. Trump has a limited view of what is actually going on. I am from Plateau State. The onslaught on Plateau Indigenes by extremists both have religious and ethnic undertones. These extremists are within the community and hard to fish out. Except the US can provide intelligence and go on a fact finding mission on the intricacies bedeviling these communities, screaming military action or invasion will do little to solve the problem. But I am grateful that the atrocities being committed by these extremists is gaining international traction. The killings has to STOP. BTW if you follow Trump's playbook, he thrives on "divide and conquer". He is skillful on feeding into people's fears and prejudices and it has worked well for him. |

HesInMe: So why are people selling if that's the case? Assuming the court-ordered meeting occurs in the next 6 months, the "last highest traded price in the past 6 months" would be about 150+. That should be the floor for the stock if that were the case. Uncertainty on whether the company will be delisted from the exchange and go private can naturally create panic in my opinion. |

yMcy56: Thanks boss. Means my calculations was correct when I mentioned this 93 sometimes ago, even when WAPCO was still selling way below this price.
Hopefully, they'll consider higher payout to the remaining minority holders. * Make una note the hope o.....and let the buyout price for majority guide your decision makings. The NGX rules particularly Rule 21.4 mandates that acquisition of shares of minority shareholders by the majority must be atleast the highest price traded in the last 6 months before the Court Ordered Meeting. The Majority Shareholders cannot just give whatever they want as the scheme for delisting from the stock exchange will have to be sanctioned by the Federal High Court and also approved by atleast 75% minority shareholders at a Court Ordered Meeting. In a nutshell, the buyout price per share will be contingent upon the highest share price 6months before the COM, court sanction and minority shareholders approval at the meeting. |

I do not understand why some persons are bitter about shares appreciation and people benefitting from such appreciation. Isn't the essence of being in the market for value appreciation? I understand some persons can be corny here, but there is a thin line between cautioning people against corny guys here and being bitter about some stocks appreciating at a remarkable pace. With my little understanding about stock, risk is a major factor. |

megawealth01: @rakish and others
PZ has staged a notable recovery in FY2025, posting a ₦5.5bn profit after a ₦76bn loss the previous year. Revenue rose 40%, and FX losses dropped sharply, signaling better cost and currency management. However, despite this progress, the company still faces serious structural issues: negative equity (₦‑21.9bn) and a high debt load (₦71.5bn) leave it financially fragile.
Its interest coverage (11×) and strong cash position (₦40.7bn) provide near-term liquidity comfort, but long-term viability depends on reducing debt, restoring equity, and currency stability. Appreciate your take as always sir. The company's outlook looks promising and is beginning to reflect on the exchange. |

Mankind2024: I feel your pain! From experience, I've found that First Registrars are notoriously unresponsive, even if you copy high-level authorities like the President, SP, IGP, SEC, DAAR Investors Relation, and your broker. Sending multiple reminders won't likely yield a response. I've learned to avoid wasting time and data on futile correspondence with them. If you ever get a response from them, kindly share it here – I'd consider it the 8th wonder of the world The 8th wonder happened ooo. I tried reaching them via their Whatsapp platform and they responded after a while. The confirmed the existence of the shares. |

EDUECO: Is the document with you a share certificate or a purchase/buy contract?
If it is a share certificate you can take it to a stockbroker to dematerialize it. But my advice to you is not to waste any money in the dematerialization because at the moment the company is a liability and not an equity!
If it is a purchase contract you have, just locate the office of the stockbroker so when there is a demand for Daar Communication stocks you sell it.
If you're not currently investing, this is the best time to start.Register with a digital stockbroker like Morgan Capital and start buying good dividend paying stocks like Zenith Bank,UBA,Access Bank, et cetera. The document I have is the purchase receipt and filled form showing the number of shares and issuing houses. The thing is I am not sure if my Dad sold the shares off when it started crashing back then as i was a minor then. I just want to know if the shares are still there or they have been sold off. Thank you for your reply...I just started my stock investment journey with Bua and others. |

Good afternoon all. Please I have a question. My late dad got us Daar Communications shares since 2008(I have the evidential documents). I was a minor then. Please how and where can I confirm my records? I know the company's shares is less than a naira and has not declared dividend since then. I just need to confirm if my records as a shareholder is still active. First registrars have not responded to my email of enquiry yet. |

budaatum: Political survival always breeds hypocrisy. A politician would say black is white if it wins votes, and would flip on a dime too. Drumptf just took it further than any American president ever did in my lifetime, and this is my eleventh. I so love the fact that barring a few, democracy lets the very bad ones get only one term. Exactly! It will be political suicide for Biden or any US president to be forceful towards Israel. On Israel-Palestine conflict, I prefer Bernie Sanders policy. |

sanpipita: AOC and other Lefists are not attacking Biden over Israel? you guys really live in alternative reality
Same leftists that are planning to block Biden'a arms approval to Israel, biggest criticism Biden has gotten over his recent Israel stance has come from Democrats. You're right. I also voiced my dissatisfaction over Biden's comments. I believe Israel should be held more to account by world powers and be called out with possible sanctions. And I like Joe Biden. |

ReubenE: I've treated your question in my lead post.
In international politics, Power belongs to the super structure. Law, morality/ethics etc belongs to the substructure.
International law most often is a mere expression on paper when it does not align with the interest of the Big Players.
In this case, the US is involved so "Might is Right" Well, you've proven my point, thanks. Your posts shows how unfair the lack of enforceability of international law is and it's inhumane effect on the Palestinians unfortunately. The laws are not been enforced. Most leaders in the US and Europe are afraid of holding Israel accountable or speaking the truth for political reasons—it will be political suicide for them. And the people being killed are the women and children, the helpless, defenseless ones. |
Foreign Affairs › Re: The Banner On A Ship Carrying Jewish Refugees To Palestine In 1947 by rakish(m): 5:59pm On May 16, 2021 |
ReubenE: Egypt and and the Arab league is largely responsible for the ordeal the Palestinians are facing... Those lands were not stolen, majority was acquired through conquest after the Arab-Israeli wars
Israel only expanded its grip on Palestinian lands (formally a British mandate) after the defeat of the Arab coalition in 1948 and 1967.
If the Arab league had allowed reason to prevail when the UN Resolution partitioned that land to Two States (Jewish State of Israel, and Arab State of Palestine) in 1947, perhaps by now, Palestine would have been a thriving country on their own with her own army.
But Egypt and the Arab coalition felt Israel was too small and feeble. Egyptian Generals even boasted that a war with Israel would be like a parade from Cairo to Tel Aviv, that Tel Aviv would be overtaken in two weeks. They opposed the UN Resolution for Two-State Solution by invading Israel, a battle they lost. Israel ceased more lands far more than what was given to her by the UN after the war. Can Israel be blamed for doing this? The answer is No, the the land is a war bounty.
Syria lost the control of Golan Heights, Jordan lost the West Bank, Egypt lost the Gaza Strip after the 6 days war (3rd Arab war with Israel) in 1967. Israel obviously and overwhelmingly won the war and consolidated its grip on Palestine. Can Israel be blamed for controlling a land they conquered through war? No, cause in war, everything is fair.
The Two-State solution the Palestinians and the Arab League opposed vehemently in 1947, is what they are now clamoring for, but unfortunately, Israel and her western allies especially the US is no longer keen on doing that.
One very important fact to note is that, no country is a good country in the International System of power play. Palestine would do the same to Israel if she finds herself in that position because international politics is always about National Interest.
Russia has been annexing Ukrainian lands (Crimea, Sevastopol etc), Russia has been making attempts to annex Georgia, Turkey has been muscling Armenia etc. No country is a good country, it is always about self and National Interest.
PS: The land Israel is occupying is not entirely Palestinian land. They have historical ties to that land right from the time of Egypt and Babylonia. Israel only ceased Golan Heights, West Bank, East Jerusalem, Gaza Strip after the war with the Arab Coalition With all you've said, you haven't mentioned that it is against international law for any country or region to take over a territory impoverished by war and that was what Israel did. I am a Christian, but reading the history surrounding the Israel-Palestine conflict has made me not blindly support Israel's actions. And the reason Israel has this strength today is simply because of the military aid it receives from the US and Europe. The Palestinians do not even have an army. |
