Heshei:Wetin you chop wey your mouth dey sweet. I'm sure you work with Ntel. As much as it's good to encourage home companies, their bullshit obviously needs to be addressed. If you want to stand out, then deliver what you promise. either 3gb cap or not, I have been stuck with a shity speed since morning. streaming and web pages are trying but Torrent? ma God! I got the device last Saturday and I only enjoyed the so called speed for 3 days, since then, omo na okoro soup. And to crown their stupidity, they increased tariff! Like who does that in the middle of "crisis"? Ntel sort your God-forsaken speed out and if this is deliberate, may you crawl also, cos that's what you cause my business these few days I've joined you. It is not a matter of capping 3gb/day. it's just ridiculously & fucking slow sir! PERIOD! Abeg who get Adobe cc 2017? this company wants to run my business down. customer service sef no dey pick! IF YOU AIN'T READY, DON'T SET OUT AND MAKE PEOPLE GET EXCITED OVER YOUR CALABASH TRASH CAN. ITS GONA COME BACK TO YOU. Also, who sabi jailbreak the Alcatel device? rubbish! |
jayon:I've been reading you, thanks for the insight. How was your 2016 trip? And any itinerary for 2017? I like the fact you want to travel as much countries as possible, I wish too... Lemme hear your plans for this year, maybe we go waka am together. Ciao. |
tosmy:Yea, maybe you shouldn't write... Just keep reading. ![]() |
melotech:It uses SOLAR PANELS, not electricity sir |
driversconnect:At the top of this page you will find (0) (1) (2) (3)... (291) Just click on (0) & start reading from there. No one can answer for you. Not only about your money or even travel history. So oga, read read read & come back to ask more chiseled questions. Oya go! |

lucas101:You've got swaggz sha! lol. I swear, attitude 1st, the rest of the interview follows suit. And it makes sense what all gurus have been saying about being truthful/ honest, you'll naturally be confident. Congratulations, you didn't waste money. |
vitus101:If judging strictly by the interview I feel it's not what we say sometimes, but how you say it as well as your body language. You may have the best profile, ties, purpose, finance BUT your responses were one worded & u had a weird shifty eyes during the interview, my broda, na "you may apply again" o #myOpinion |
holysinner01:You can use any recent passport photograph (I guess with a specific dimension) |
olantua:Uber will be your safest best. Where is thy transcript sir/ma? Tnx |
LadyGuinivere:I Sabi that one well well nau ![]() |
FILEBE:Thanks. Will be around. |
Shalombrain:I read the blog and I must say you are right. It's a strategy that works in Nigeria. It's rather sad that it's only in Nollywood we need to have star-studded movies to make a hit in the cinema as against having 2 top billed actors, but again, hey, this is Naija. I just still can't phantom a trip to Jamaica sitting in some Amvca award categories... smh for both of them. |
FILEBE:Thank you, I was going to point these out. Also, to a very large extent, Nollywood is boxed in the drama category & less of action, sci-fi etc; cos most people can relate to it- that's our reality. That is not to say vfx shouldn't & couldn't be integrated but for the factors you've listed. We are gradually increasing our distribution scope beyond DVD to foreign markets, online streaming, VoD etc. So I believe soon enough, we'll be attempting some CGIs (at least I will soon) |
malaoluolateju:Travelstart.com is Naira, their office is in Lagos, Opebi. Skyscanner.com will ref you to other sites which might be in a foreign currency; use a generous xrate to know how much you'll be spending. |
seyewest:Hian! Thanks for that. Ticket guru ![]() |
seyewest:For someone that doesn't mind 2 stop overs there's N255k flight.... But wait, in a 12hrs stop over, where, what can a traveler do, sleep or go?
|
seyewest:Yup, but just checking back now, I'm seeing 350k travelstart.com but can't hold than 24hrs Thanks, will check sky |
seyewest:Pls I need the info. That's the point, funds will be available few days after 15th, I still saw NYC @ around 290/300k |
seyewest: @seyewest are there any airlines/sites I can hold bookings for days without paying? |
lonzo:You also need your appointment letter (the document that shows you're meant to come for the interview). Asides that, any other supporting documents depending on your purpose of traveling. Have a successful interview and Pls do share your transcript later |
lonzo:You also need your appointment letter (the document that shows you're meant to come for the interview). Asides that, any other supporting documents depending on your purpose of traveling. Have a successful interview and Pls do share your transcript tomorrow. |
onmyteflon:I think it's your ties, 1. You have a girlfriend, not even engaged 2. your mum that would have been your tie is also traveling with you. I also think you didn't show confidence with your body language, he was talking to you & your mum cuts in, that the vo had to turn to you to further question you He must have made up his mind right there and your single status was a good reason for him... Not that single people don't travel. I suggest you build your ties, work and/or relationship. Find the opportunity to talk about your strongest tie with confidence & passion when next you apply, cos you might get married & still be told you're building. I'm married yet got bounced on account of "still building". I recently had my 1st child & I have a massive project coming up which I'm ready to drum into VO's ears if he ask about family or work. This seems to be your 2nd refusal... When was the first and what happened? They just have to be sure you have some significant value here just to satisfy discretion. |
onmyteflon:Pls share TS (transcript) |
LadyGuinivere:U sef don do your own na I feel some ppl(me too) think you are sometimes hash in your replies... na why I call you Gridiron o! because you dey show yourself. ![]() But yea, if you can't read through, just use Lil IQ and do a word search on your "unique case" so we won't be planning a part 3 sooner than needed. onmyteflon:I was told same too, I guess you didn't convince him enough with your ties becos they weren't strong enough. Are you married? Kids? Earning? Duration of work? Traveling experience? I guess vo must have picked up on one of those IMO |
julius99:Quick & Dirty Trick Another way to avoid asking an already answered question here before, is to use the search tool at the top of NLs page instead of reading through part 1&2. Narrow your search to Travel section and you'll def find answers... There are 20 pages from. the search result "expire passport" as attached below. I hope it helps anyone that needs a quick answer if you don't have the time to do the needful - reading as much as possible. I feel your reoccurring pain LadyGridiron

constance234:Wow, that also is a miracle ![]() And I like your expository, congratulations! (in VO's voice) ![]() |
TWoods:I believe in miracle, if you don't, leave me to believe what I want by not telling me what I can believe. It's sad the "basic" things of life is not basic in this part of the world; a third world country and you have only one life to experience the "normal" life & society, be it vacation, conference, family, medical; I think it's worth a million. Obvious to America, that people will want to escape or escapade, so they take your money (non refundable) and still scrutinize you. N54,400 is not chicken change to anyone to throw away because you made a slight mistake at the "ordinary" interview and VO bounced you & your passport or after you paid a return ticket, only to use it up same day at PoE- sadly it's a miracle to someone that's traveling for the 1st time, most times or anyone sef. For he shall rebuke the devourer I stand to be corrected, but that remains my opinion. But wait, Vos actually say "congratulations"? ![]() olantua:The questions were much from the vo and you were able to confidently answer her from what I can read in the transcript, probably new style they are switching to "Bombardier" Hehehe. Keep the transcripts coming. |
[quote author=LadyGuinivere post=52378959]@LadyGridIron Thanks 4 My bad, however; I will like to take a lil bit more time to network & make best use of my visit... is staying more than stipulated days illegal? 3 ok, I'll explain if asked 2. Yup, it was the job I had before the most recent old job. I've been running my business even whilst working in those places but left the last job this January. Experience - 6years+ independent after resignation 1 year in January. 1. Will print both reservations and slide it in... If asked. A I see it was my fault with the use of word, what I meant 'expecting' - my wife was heavy at the time & vo must have not understood. Happily, we had our daughter in October. Really, you are trying a lot to answer everyone's questions. God go butter your bread and answer your own life questions too. Thanks again Season greetings all! |
oriagome:I don't think it matters if you fill it or not. I know couple of peeps that didn't and still had a successful interview. Go and have a wonderful interview. All the best. |
Hi, I will like to share the transcript of my interview that took place in August- I was denied... I have few questions too, please bare with me. ist time experience. After the long queue, and crossing the road from one building to another, I was dehydrated and was getting tired. Lagos, 9am last cubicle to the left, a German-looking lady, no smile, no chills. me: Good morning / vo: good morning vo: pass me your passport (I pass am) few seconds passes vo: where you dey go? / me: Im attending a film fest in Long Beach, Cali she opens my passport, looks at the visa I had on it before for a while (Na Tanzania). Cant remember if she asked if I've traveled before... Vo: you don marry? / me: yes, I am vo: any pikin? / me: No, we are expecting she no look my face. type, type, type... she pulls out the ugly blue paper and passes it with my passport vo: sorry your visa can not be approved at this time, but you can reapply anytime. me: thank you (with the fakest smile in the world) N34,600 visa fee, just like that? Na hin I throw her my own puppy-eye polite question me: Sorry, but may I really know why my application was refused? (I don turn to vo) vo: the paper explains it. (she paused and thought she should just be nice for once, me sef tanda...she continues) "You are still building" you are welcome to reapply anytime. Question A Please, what could it be that I'm building? confidence or ties? (I knew I was apprehensive during the interview though) (i mentioned her comment when I was filling this recent form under the "have you been denied before" session) ---------->>>Fast forward I didn't know much of this thread then but now, I applied to attend a film festival in Feb, my appointment is in couple of weeks. I haven't paid for the festival yet though because I had trouble getting a refund from the festival I wanted to attend that August which the visa application was denied Questions B: 1. Can I change my hotel reservation prior my interview? I got a more affordable hotel; obviously the address is now different from the one I stated in my DS-160. 2. In my previous application (which I was denied) I didn't add a particular previous job experience (complete oversight)... I added it this time, hope it won't raise any brows as to why I didn't add it before. 3. Is it advisable to pend paying for the festival till the outcome of my interview (Don't know if they'll contact the organizers to inquire my attendance) 4. I may look bad asking this but, I intend to extend my stay from the number of days I've stated in my DS, but not beyond the 6 months so as not to be labeled illegal... (Purpose - I have skills in filmmaking, so I want to test the water and raise small cash before coming home. Will this extension cause future harm to me revisiting US in the future. (I get confidence say I dey collect this visa this time sha). @Lady GridIron, FPLawyer, SeyeWesty & rest, I need your opinion and advice. I've been reading this thread pass my bible lately and I'll share my transcript be as it may after my interview. Pray for me... gbadura funmi... |
