Just look at the Nigeria/Egypt match now, una no see referees from East Africa or even Southern Africa. Una wan give is ref from North Africa. Abeg make una keep quiet, was the ref for our game not from West Africa, the Senegalese dem no complain of officiating, they only complained of other factors, make una stop this nonsense habit of saying the ref go dey bias, when game no even start yet. |

Samantha125: I'm speaking based on what I've seen and heard, okay? I dare you to go and query every single lady beyond the borders of Nigeria that has either dated or currently dating a Nigerian man... They all share the same sentiments about you guys, and your brothers can't also seem to beat the allegations, they'd be all over social media boasting about it, chest beating about how they spend on their women...
And for your information, there isn't a country in Africa whereby the men don't murder their women, it's just that SA transparently publishes its statistics while other countries would prefer hiding or tampering with theirs, some don't even conduct any... Patriarchy still dominates many African countries just like it's still dominating in Asia. I get your point, but the number of SA men that are violent to their spouse are not upto 50% of the total number of men in SA, it is therefore wrong for me to assume every man in SA is a woman beater, i believe you agree with this? Why then do you think because some few people entice women with money it then equate to the total number of men in Naija being that way? It's just crowd mentality, like if 20 people on social media say all the naija women they've been with and have encountered are beautiful, most people posting next will want to say thesame thing even if all the women they've seen are ugly. So you see, it's bad to generalize everyone into one concept just because few people tend to assume that concept as correct. |

Samantha125: I don't need to meet them to know it, all those ladies who've dated you guys or are dating you guys only have one thing to say about you, that you're big spenders.
I've never heard them commending you guys on any other aspects except for your financial generosity. So because i hear and read that SA men are violent and k*ll their girlfriends, i should automatically assume the average SA man is a murderer? You can't make assumptions based off few peoples opinion, it is wrong |

12inchess: Hello nairalanders I know to a lot of Nigerians who have never left the country this may sound funny. But I'm indeed frustrated with my life in America. I moved to America as a student in 2016 for masters in an engineering degree and after about 7 years I obtained a U.S Greencard. I work a middle income job with the government and I'm here with my Nigerian wife. I have faced a series of health challenges since I got here and some have been resolved and some additionally ones have cropped in with the latest being depression and extreme fatigue. Currently I'm on antidepressants but I'm still depressed and frustrated. My job is not that taxing but I wish I could do more save for the extreme fatigue that the doctors have not been able to resolve. I wish I could hustle harder but my health is not allowing me to. I feel also very sad and lonely living in the U.S as it's only me and my wife and I dont really have any friends. Everyone here always mind their business and its tough building any meaningful relationships. I have toyed with the idea of moving back to Nigeria in my head since America has not been all I hoped it will be for me but my wife does not want to and she quickly reminds me of the employment suitation in Nigeria and how it is me that made her come here in the first place. She kind of prefers it here. We have no kids yet so that is one additional information. I'm just venting and frustrated and I hope maybe some Nairalanders can come to my aid. Additional information. I dont come from a rich family that has money sitting in the bank and its me and my own. We just bought a house on a 30 year mortgage so we pretty stuck with paying the debt for 30 years but I don't know how I'd live here for 30 years. Just looking for someone with experience to share ideas with since I have no one. I feel stuck. Please no insults In my opinion, I think you should have a serious discussion with madam, take 2 to 3 months off, come back to Nigeria and stay for a while, madam can still stay back there for the time being. Observe yourself in Nigeria, see if the depression subsides. Another thing I'll advise is, if it is possible, stay off the anti depressants, because at the long run, they seem not to work. If it is possible, get madam pregnant or adopt a kid, you'll be surprised how children are the real antidepressants. You need to clear your mind too, because it seem like you have something you're struggling with that you've not really faced it to deal with it and that might be where that depression is shooting from. Remember you're a Nigerian, we always have a positive mindset irrespective of the situation, don't try to be oyibo people because at the long run, it'll only exhaust you. Stay blessed bro, you've got this. |

omoredia: What we have seen now is proof that at no time in history was the white man the problem of black people. It was the black man who caught his fellow black people and sold them as slaves first to the arabs and then the Europeans. Even till today nothing has changed. The black man is his own worst enemy You're correct. I've said it several times that the black man is the architect of his own problems. |

Most of these Nigerians speaking to the American people are not directly affected by what is happening in Nigeria, that is why they usually downplay it. Assuming a member of this guy's family had faced this bandits before, I'm sure he's statement would be different . |
