First guess: He's involved in some kind of criminal activity. Not for money or anything serious, just for fun. LMAO I know I know I'm reaching

Second guess: he has seen the lives of his parents and siblings and sworn to be a baby boy forever, hence why he doesn't want to move out. He's doing what he loves so he's fully satisfied with work and is probably saving all that money so he can move to a remote place where he only communicates with his family through letters and postcards and maybe visit home every 2 years.
