Amotolongbo: Honestly, Obi would have made more sense devoid of pity and sympathy calling if he had told us, bringing out the documents (like CofO and Survey) establishing the fact that “his brother” truly owns the property occupied and demolished . The effects of reading without comprehension. You didn’t see the salient points he raised, you jumped to your usual attacking line. |
Politics › Re: Why Does Nigerian Government Always Partner With Foreign Entities by ratcock: 4:52pm On Jun 23, 2025 |
okpouman: I need explanation on this situation. Studying activities of Nigerian government, it always seem like apart from salaries and maybe to an extent road infrastructure any other thing Nigerian federal or state government does is always sponsored by a foreign entity, either an European country ,China or Japan, the world bank.
The Nigerian government doesn't seem to have any funds to address any issue at all.Every development program is always sponsored either through donation or so called investment by a foreign entity( another sovereign government).
In any Nigerian government function or meeting, this foreign elements are always present listening to all plans and projects of the Nigerian government,it's like there's nothing that goes on in Nigeria without foreign input mainly European,Japanese or Chinese, sometimes the EU,world bank or and international NGO like UNICEF.
This begs the question, were does the revenue generated from oil go? Is it too small that Nigerian government totally lacks the capacity to implement any project on its own.
Why are these countries always eager to implement projects for Nigeria, what's in it for them, what is the trade off by Nigerian government.
Why is NIGERIAN government especially since the democratic era so incapacitated.
If it was under a democratic government I bet you that there would never be an Abuja or it will be entirely sponsored by a foreign country.
The military guys were more capable and independent, why is Nigerian "democratic" government so handicapped. Your observation is apt and pertinent. With regard to the bolded, the saying he who plays the piper directs the tune should ring a bell. |

DomPerignon: When Abacha's death was announced, there was great mourning in the SE.
No other HoS has been good to Ibos more than Abacha who rewarded them for their treachery.
Many of their politicians and so-called elites today served Abacha and were always at his court in Aso Rock seeking favours and also how to entrench the despot.
That's why I keep asking them here to show me just one of their politicians who fought against military rule.
You won't get a response because there were none just as you will never hear or see any of their leaders fighting to restore back true fiscal autonomy for states.
The VAT figures and net allocations to state compared to contributions to the national purse shows the SE to be the biggest beneficiary of the current centrist system . Not the north as widely acclaimed but the SE and that's why I keep saying that no one should take their Biafra agitation seriously as it’s all a ruse . If d.e.l.us.ion was a person it would be y0u. This is the height of it. 🙆🙆 |
