This is very helpful. Thank you Cyberknight: Contact the Home Office and state your reason and ask for them to expedite? Might work.
If you do decide to withdraw and leave, it won't affect the primary applicant's application. I don't know what current requirements are for applying from Nigeria, but last I was aware you would only need a TB test if you've spent 6 months or more in Nigeria.
And in response to the last question, any period for which you do not hold a valid dependant visa would break your continuous residence for the 5 year route to ILR (so your qualifying period will restart when you get the next dependant visa); but there is an exception depending on lengths of time for gaps between visas in the 10 year route to ILR.
Of course, UK immigration rules are currently in flux and likely to remain that way for a while, so even if something applies now, it may not apply when the time comes for one to avail of it.

Hello
I need advice.
I'm on a dependent visa. My partner is on SWV and we started visa extension on September 11 but no decision or communication till now. I have a very critical need to travel and I'm thinking of withdrawing my application. I have like 3 questions and I'd appreciate any response
1. We applied together. Will my withdrawal affects her or they treat it as separate applications?
2. If I apply for the new visa in Nigeria when they finally approve her extension, am I going to need to provide TB test and police report again or just biometrics? Note: the plan is to use super or priority.
3. Will it invalidate my time spent already if I'm applying for a new visa ?
Thank you
Please note: the reason for going home is critical and I won't be risking this if it's not important. |

Hi everyone
Please, I need help.
I moved to the UK in August via dependent visa. I work with a company outside the UK (in Nigeria) that pays in USDt. I'm trying to figure out how to pay tax here in the most efficient way possible without long term negative repercussions.
Can I use direct self assessment or I should register a business and pay myself through the business? Or any other options? |

Exactly. History should be a required subject for everyone up to college level jedisco: Thank you for this, I find it soul destroying when I see black folks take a guilty look when migration is discussed. Despite the fact that a miniscule number of Africans have ever left their abode, it's somehow made out that moving around is a privilege to us but a right to others
Like I said previously, the more I know about human history, the more unapologetic I become about migration. Reminds me of a chat I had with a white British folk at my workplace. Chap was trying to insinuate a grand plan to get people from Africa into the US. (I.e illegal migration). I told him that being British, he should more than everyone else know migration is as old as man. You don't like my presence, too bad, I don't care.
To Gerard who talked about deporting 2nd gen... like I asked, how far back do we go. Should Australia/U.S or Cad start deporting White folks back to Europe? |

To be fair, I don't think the person was consciously justifying the riot. It was a logical perspective but just with bad timing and place directonpc: Na wa oo. I'm surprised you justify the entire riots thing. I'm even more surprised that you're a black person. Stay safe sha, those guys no go check your passport before them abuse you. |

Lol. This is a very limiting take sha. Economic immigration is as old as time. Acting like Africans just wake up to start coming to the West. Ships and planes are not African invention. They started it. They literally came the other way first. Reading history will also let you know more than half of the current yt "natives" in England are not native in the purest form of the world. So if you follow the legal process and you become a citizen then it is your country. Ask Obama, Sunak and maybe Kamala soon lavida001: Na online you dey. You fit dey talk all you like to make yourself happy. When people wey get country ready, I go see whether you go ask dem if they are Celtics or rangers.
Na dem I blame sha wey open doors. If them no take time dem go collect country for them hand.
Most of the things dey tolerate can’t happen in other the so called Asian countries.
Make I mind my African and Nigerian business jejely. |

Something to think about before making subtle (possibly unintentional) explanations/justification for racists and islamophobic people.
If you look hard enough, you can find "seemingly logical" reasons for Hitler, Limpold, and Osama bin Laden actions.
The core is that the reasons are camouflage for their underlying identity and IT IS NOT IN YOUR BEST INTEREST to be "logical" about it
All the best

The bias was obvious from the derogatory "that religion" comment. Human beings are so predictable jedisco: I'm noticing oddly contrasting views interestingly from same person.
On the protest over social service issue-
On far right protests...
For similar actions, one group have committed an own goal and should blame themselvesfor repercussions, the other group are only responding to deprivation by the government |

Just picked up the passport from DHL office Approved I noticed the valid date is from 28/08 We didn't put that when I applied. The plan was to go next week before. Can I travel before the date or reach out to them? Please advise Thank you Raytento: Hello
Thanks everyone contributing to this thread
Applied for Partner dependent visa recently and I just got a notification from DHL few minutes ago with estimated delivery on 29th.
Status on TLS is application transferred to VAC
But i didn't get any other comms. Email or text on what the decision is
Is this normal?
I'm a bit nervous
Please share your experience
Thank you |
