Idleness. this applies mostly to the secondary school leavers and the graduates that are unemployed |
Syenite: My brother, I don't think being a former students union leader will give u any edge In terms of job search.Infact, employers frown at unionism. U know ur capabilities and weaknesses.Nothing bad in being the NUESA president as long as u still remain focused in ur studies. So, if u feel u can cope den go ahead.thanks so that means it is of v.little or no relevance |
Syenite: B xfire: PPlease sir XFIRE, SYENITE and other Experienced fellows the house. Do you think PARTICIPATION in student politics (departmental, SUG & faculty association) can give one an edge over others in the job market? I am asking this question because i am a chemical engineering undergrad. (with a CGPA of 4.54), I am currently an exco in my department but i wish to contest for president, in my faculty ( i.e pres. of NUESA). The competition is stiff but i still stand a good chance of winning. Another thing is that from my research, next session has not been really cool for my predecessors. My plan is to work really hard to balance up. But do you guys think its worth it? i.e do these things really matter or it is just seen as a kind of childs play |
