In spite of the sentence, the Juve forward will not be required to spend any time in jail as it is a first-time offence.

Police authorities in Russia have arrested Elena Karimova for reportedly killing her two children in the back of a rental car.

Karimova, who is a single mum with over 27,000 followers on Instagram, was detained on murder charges about nine months ago after buying chocolates for her kids before strangling them to death.

In a CCTV video released on Monday, the divorcee is seen acting normally as she pays in advance for petrol plus the Snickers bar and barbecue lighter fuel.

Later, she goes to the car, where her two kids are seated, to fill up with fuel before returning to collect the items which she is seen carrying as she gets back into her car.

As reported by Sun, the 27-year-old parked the car an hour later and strangled her children.

She reportedly took the bodies into the woods and used the lighter fuel to set their bodies on fire.

Her mother, Natalia Testenkova, who was shocked by the incident, said: “We do not believe this. She is the most loving mother.

“How could she kill her kids. We do not know what has happened, but we do not believe these are her kids that were found.”

But investigations by the police showed that they were her children.

Rivers State governor, Nyesom Wike, has accused the Minister of Transportation, Mr. Rotimi Amaechi, of plotting to destroy the Chief Justice of Nigeria, CJN, Justice Walter Onoghen.

Wike, who was addressing thousands of Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, supporters during the PDP State Campaign Rally at Eleme, yesterday, claimed Amaechi made the confession at a meeting with a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress in in Abuja.

“At that meeting in Abuja last Monday, he confessed that he was the person behind the illegal crisis facing the CJN. He bragged that he will destroy the CJN the way he brought former President Goodluck Jonathan down. Why I disagree with Magnus Abe over Rotimi Amaechi — Ambassador Oji Ngofa “He wants to destroy the nation’s judiciary. This particular evil will finally consume Amaechi,” he said.

The governor dismissed the claims by the Transport minister that the PDP was a party of thieves when he was Speaker for eight years under the PDP and eight years as governor under the PDP.

But an APC chieftain in the state, Prince Tonye Princewill, said “People have learnt to disregard what Wike says and this gibberish is no exception.

Operatives of the Benue State Command have arrested a 32-year-old man, Abunde Goja, for reportedly killing his ex-wife’s lover in Makurdi, the Benue State capital.

It was gathered that Goja, who is an artisan, stormed the home of his former lover and forced his way into the room. Upon sighting the new lover, Goja reportedly poured acid with the unidentified lover before hacking him to death with an axe wood.

The accused, who is said to have three children with the woman, reportedly conspired with a certain Luper to carry out the act.

Spokesman for the Command, Omololu Bishi, said the ex wife, identified as Kadoon Chia, reported the matter to the police.

She narrated that Goja forcefully gained entrance into her apartment while she was alone with her boyfriend, one Terdoo Shito, along with other suspects, who were now at large.

Bishi said that the accused, who could not explain how he got the acid, confessed to the crime but claimed he killed the victim in self defence.
