Cashmadan thank you and other gurus

If I sponsor my wife and children with my bank account and other documents ,after they have been approved,if I later apply alone for holiday visit, I hope they will not refused me simply because I sponsor my family before.
You may want to have them take the trip, upon successful application of theirs and return first sir, then apply for yourself, that way you have shown Compliance & non-immigration intent, all things being equal, your own subsequent application should be fine.

Are you a first time applicant ?
What city are you applying from ?

As of last month TLS Abuja is no longer accepting appointments for Nigerians, all Nigerian applicants must apply through Lagos.
This is going off on a tangent lol, it is quite weird to remove completely “a part of visa processing” from the Nation’s capital to Lagos (lol i know they are still processing some category of visa in Abuja) also, there was this uproar about that uncomfortable MOU between this government and france, but then i don’t want to seem to wear a tinfoil hat 😂, but curiouser curiouser 🌚

I got an appointment in August and that's probably because I was classified as a frequent traveler.
The trick one of my colleagues used in the past as a first time traveller was to check in the midnight, sometimes people reschedule from their earlier date to a later date, so that makes some earlier slots available.
Okay thank you!

Congratulations. One thing in life is that we learn every day and two good heads are always better than one till thy kingdom come. One thing I learnt from this your case is that complaints to the home office seems to bring results faster.
I initiated a PAP for my MIL effective March 18th and she just got her visa and passport back. Cheers buddy!!!
You’re absolutely right. Human error is quite ubiquitous, participants in a process helps the efficiency of it, if bugs, mistakes etc are raised in order for it to be corrected.

I am sure some of these guys at the helm, appreciate when genuine and legitimate concern are raised, instead of making excuses for apparent clogs in the system.

For example, I would also appreciate if a junior at work finds a mistake in my instruction and calls my attention to it , rather than makes excuse for me and let the work gets out and portray incompetence.

Cheers sir! And Congratulations to you too and your family!
(No vex for my plenty talk 😁)

Kindly help with insight @giselle237 and Cashmadam.

I applied for visit visa, ECO singled out my employers account balance and erroneously claim it was low by assuming the account was a Naira account, when it was clearly stated on face of the statement that the account is domiciled in USD(this was stated in my LOE). My own balance is actually more than 1k USD, i only added employer’s account as this is a work sponsored trip.

My immigration history, i just returned from the US last month and going back next month, facts which were submitted, I have 10yr canadian visa, i have sent email to home office, but my concern is the generic email response i got from UKVI for the paid mail, but i really want to correct this error as this is my second refusal, i had first refusal last year b4 US, Canada and Schengen Visa. So i am not about to just let this slide, i want to understand the PAP process please.
Visa Issued.

June 9: Erroneous Decision

June 9: Numerous mails sent to UKVI & Home Ofiice

June 9: Submitted a PAP, my complaint to multiple channels including physical letters to Home office.

June 9: Got E-mail reponse from UKVI that my decision have no right to appeal or administrative review.

June 11: Got Mail from VFS to come collect my passport

June 13: Collected my passport from VFS

June 16: Got another mail from Home Office, that “my complaint has been considered and as detailed in my decision letter i have no right to appeal or administrative review” and other generic bla bla bla and i should apply again.

June 16: i replied again that their error must be acknowledged and i have no intention in submitting to a defective process., i also added that they need not review or overturn the visa decision but error must be acknowledged.

June 17: Phone call and follow up Mail from British High Commission, Abuja requesting for my passport.

June 18: I submitted around 12PM.

June 19: I was called around 11AM and i picked up my passport shortly after with the visa vignette in it.

Thanks everyone for your inputs, @cashmadam, @giselle237 @Militio @davodyguy @America001, i really appreciate.

@tyrant25 they responded first on 11th, then 16th, however there were lots of back and forth.

TravelRe: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 5 by readonenaire(m):
giselle237:
It appears to me that your primary motivation was to obtain a UK visa, especially since you have recently secured visas for the US, Canada. Emphasis on the recently because these ECOs act one way. - No, its not the "motivation"

If you haven’t used these other visas, and now you are applying for the UK visa in hopes that your recent visa history will overshadow your previous UK refusal— then I see what was on the ECOs mind. - I have used all visas that i have, inclusive of aforementioned.

We have to differentiate between “visa history” and “immigration history.” Without travelling on a visa, you’ll lack an immigration history, which is a key factor that ECOs consider in this 2025. - I have both

They look for evidence of travel and experience within 1st world countries first, essentially that you travelled, saw the level of good standard of living in these countries but still denied the urge and you return to your home country without overstaying your visa. When you do this, then you have shown a good imm history and can be very trusted. - Oh well

Very importantly you only just returned from the US last month as a first-time traveler, visa was obtained very recently, the urgency of another trip to the UK for a conference seems suspicious to the ECO. - Not a first time traveler

How many similar conferences have you attended overseas? - ...was not attending a conference

They may think— what kind of employee is securing all these travels within short time span and with a recent UK refusal already on your profile it flagged eyebrows with them when you reapplied. - An employee that has genuine professional reason to do so, also, refusal was a year ago

Has this employee taken time to work since they just returned from a trip and now they are going again? Hmm? How come? - My Travels did not stop work, was still writing briefs all the way lol.

With the above reasons- the ECO made a hasty decision without thoroughly reviewing your documents. All his or her eyes were seeing— deny, deny then deny. - I agree

If attending the conference is essential, I suggest you reapply & point out to them this erroneous mistake. Make sure to complain on how unfair it is to pay such ‘expensive’ fees and not receive appropriate service. - Not a conference, thank you so much

Your documents were not looked at etc.. write your points very convincingly and confidently. Ah lol i don't think the assessor of these visa applications are that bright

If not, it may be wise to wait out the complaint process which you have already started. i think i would do that indeed

Whatever process you follow in the end you would be entitled to the visa based on this technicality.- I sure hope so, thank you so much for your time.

How can I buy a bottle of beer to show how much you spoke my mind here. I can’t agree any more. A PAP or complaint would definitely scale through, it’s just that the event in July would surely be missed because it would take something in the region of 3 months or so for the review to come through with passport back and all of that. I’m currently in the process of something similar for my MIL and I know how long it’s been.
Ah!

Do you mean as i have made complaint, they won't return my passport? i have been curious because i have been wondering why i have not received mail from VFS to come collect my passport.

if thats the case, there is problem, i have exams in the US in July o! which kain wahala be this embarassed grin
TravelRe: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 5 by readonenaire(m): 6:47am On Jun 11, 2025
Milito:
This is a fatal error on the part of the ECO. Eventhough a complaint or PAP will definitely scale through, the process may be time-consuming and may make you miss the event looking at the July date you applied for the visa against. Therefore, I'd suggest you re-apply instead and highlight the currency issue in the fresh application. Most especially in the column provided for extra comments on the form itself. I don't think its all ECOs that read the attached letter of explanation.
Thank you so much, i would actually just let the complaint/review materialize, lol the funny thing is i passed through heathrow last month, with a 10 hour + layover, if i had wanted to abscond... oh well, i currently have no faith in their visa system, you need to see how meticulous i was with my application lol, seeing the gaffe they have been making in recent times. I would just wait it out, in this perilous times of border control, i cannot be raking in unjustifiable refusals, that would probably lead to me being pulled aside in other port of entries, since they all share data.

20th. March, 2025
POE: Washington Dulles (IAD)

Arrived on BA at 9:07
Those weird looking buses took us to passport control/customs, there are two separate lines for US Citizens & Others on Visa/ESTA.

Long Queue for us (Non-Citizen), got to my turn around past 10PM. Already rehearsing answers lol, address of where i am staying in DC, purpose of trip, why am staying longer beyond my purpose of visit etc lol.

CBP: Hi, how are you?
Me: I am alright, you?
CBP: Fine, thanks. Do you have any tobacco, food or anything to declare?
Me: Naah, none of that and nothing to declare really.
CBP: Alright, welcome to the US
Me: Thank you.

So no stamp, i just checked my i94 while waiting at the carousel, seen i was admitted 6months.

An aside 😂; i transited through london and it was quite warm, so i was telling myself it shouldn’t be cold in America too, boy was i wrong! . After collecting my bag, went downstairs to get Metro Card and load, went back up to take Uber, decided against metro as it was too late, i tied my jacket to my waist while i drag my two bags gallantly towards the exit, door opened and the cold hit, i didn’t know when i shouted “subhanallah” flung the boxes and ran back inside then wore my jacket, i was laughing at myself.

So yeah, its spring but if you are coming to the Eastcoast, its still quite nippy, gear up.

PS: THIS IS MY FIRST TIME IN AMERICA
