Yesterday I witnessed how someone took his life by hanging himself to a tree. Same young man was battling severe Depression resulting from Indebtedness. Those who he was indebted to were always embarrassing and disgracing him in the open. And he had no other option than to take the easiest way out. Constant shaming obviously leads to depression and low self-esteem. While I'm not justifying his act, nobody would have known the severity of his plight except those who are very close to Him. And same people are his Betrayers. I believe he would have sought help from his friends and families to enable him pay those who he owed but I guess nobody listened to him. I used to have a neighbor, a woman, a police officer too. We fetch water from her compound. This woman has two kids still in primary sch and her husband is also a high ranking police officer too. Over time, as I fetch water, she picked interest in me, drew me closer to herself. Some times, she would send her househelp to bring me some cooked food since I'm a bachelor. I saw her like a mother I never had. I opened up to her as regards my struggles. I told her about my family and everything cos I trusted her. But in the end, the whole neighborhood got to hear my story from her. What can be more painful than this? The point is, people who we trust and can open up to, have failed us countless times. They even go on to exaggerate the matter by padding the real narratives. This accounts for why many people take their lives. We are living in a wicked World. Except your parents and siblings, nobody is going to listen to you. Not even your pastors. Pastor go use u preach on Sunday. At a point last month, I wanted to follow this route. But I said no. I considered my loved ones, even though I still can't Open up to them about my struggles. They are times I wish that God should take my life when I'm sleeping. To everyone, please let's be our Brother's keepers. Let's make the world a better place. Life is indeed hard. But let's not be dispirited. If you've overcome hunger such that no matter how broke you get, food can Never be a challenge to you, you don't know what God has done for u. Hunger is the worst thing that can happen to anyone. This is where you lose your senses completely. If you can't help people, do Not talk down on them. Do not. Nobody is happy being in such situations. |
Chief2410:The guy never know wetin dey sup for inside life. The way they will mock you after u open up to them ehn, you will jus rush and take sniper. I learnt the hard way after I opened up to a woman I see as a mother |
There are no good pastors anywhere in Nigeria. They are home breakers always dishing out fake prophecies to gullible followers. Some will even try to snatch your wife away from you when you go to them for marital counselling I CURSE all the fake Pastors in and out of Nigeria |

A young man in his mid 30s who was a native of Benue State from Logo local govt has taken his own life. The incident occurred yesterday Sunday at about 5pm. Though details of the ugly incident is still scanty. But neighbors have said that the reason for his action could be connected to the current economic hardship in the country. A neighbor who didn't want her name in print said that the young man has been severally harassed and disgraced by those he owed. He looked like he was battling severe hardship and depression. His remains have been evacuated and investigations are underway.
