You have right to market your candidate, but you need caution.

Respect your elders.

If you want to discard rotational presidency, then SE must have their turn. After which it will be thrown open.

Quota system, Federal character can also been thrown open, so the best candidates in an examination can get the advertised position.

You guys especially the NGpatriot will never see that these policies prevent the best candidates.

We should stop being pretty and clannish.

If you want the best candidates then go the whole way...stop shifting the goal posts, when its the turn of the others.
Politics › Afenifere Dumps SW Aspirants, Backs SE, Warns Against Gang-Up by Redcrafton(op): 12:15pm On Jan 30, 2022
By Dapo Akinrefon

The pan-Yoruba socio-political organisation, Afenifere, yesterday, said any attempt to deny the South-East the presidency in 2023 is a gang-up against the region dominated by Igbo.

Afenifere leader, Pa Ayo Adebanjo, in a chat with Sunday Vanguard, said those opposed to Igbo President are discriminatory against the region.

The statement was interpreted in many politically informed circles to mean that the group may not back a Yoruba aspirant for the nation’s highest office in 2023.

Vice President Yemi Osinbajo and All Progressives Congress (APC) National Leader, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, are believed to be main contenders in the race to succeed President Muhammadu Buhari from the South-West while Senator Pius Anyim and Governor Dave Umahi among others from the South-East and also eyeing Aso Rock Villa..

Whereas Tinubu has publicly declared his ambition, Osinbajo is said to be considering running against his mentor who was single handedly responsible for his nomination to run as deputy to Buhari first in 2015 and later in 2019.

Adebanjo said: “If there is anything like power shift in Nigeria, it should go to the South-East. There is doubt about that, any other thing is just gang-up.

“There should not be any argument about that because the South-West has gotten it, the North has gotten, South-South has gotten it. You want the Igbo to remain in Nigeria but you want to discriminate against them.

“There should be no argument about where power should shift to, it should go to the South-East. Any other thing is gang-up

My greatest wish for Nigeria is that Ibos are allowed to have their Biafra. Only then will you realise why Benin Republic is where it is, that port and airports do not make an economy. That you need a market to sell your goods and you need land that is not available in your area. Then you will realise you gain more from Nigeria than any other tribe in Nigeria.
What are talking about market. What do you market from SW?

As for land, you are confused by the map...

There are huge unused land in the east.

As for market, they can focus on central Africa.

Many people already come to Aba from central Africa.

Plain injustice and wickedness is what often result in people asking for a change.

So because they need large market, they should accept to be second class citizens in their own country?

strength is not always about numbers, I used numbers because in the case of the North that is their strength. ND's strength is the Oil, OPC because SW is the economic capital of Nigeria. What is the Strength of the SE? What is your tradeable currency that you are making demands or threats? .........nothing!!!! You need Nigeria more than Nigeria needs you and the only people who dont seem to know this are ibos themselves.
Which economy does SW has without the Igbos?

You will soon see that the Igbos have strength, than you can imagine.

So you can only threaten others because you have some imaginable strenght?

There is a difference between making demands when you have the power (numbers) and making demands from a position of weakness. When you are a in a position of weakness you don't make demands or threats.
Why make demands in the first place when you have numbers.

Most of you love changing goal post.

When OPC and ND militant made demands, what was their numbers?

Continue.

All this is story. When Kanu was making noise you people should have disowned him publicy so the rest of us know he doesn't represent you, instead we know what happened, even now Ohaneze is begging for his release. We don't know which Ohaneze is legitimate...we are not ibos so if someone is talking in your name the onus is on you to discredit him before he does damage to your cause. You dont keep quiet, while "ohaneze" is saying this and that andcome at the point of elections and say they dont represent us. As it is unfortunately you will have to wait till 2039 and learn how to play the game while you wait because if power rotates to SW or SS (it wont be going to SE) the North will rightly claim back their 8 years in 2031.
How many of you from the north disowned Boko H publicly?

Igbos must be special people, as majority of Nigeria see them as different.

The Yorubas, the north, the Ijaws can do anything...but once the Igbos tries the same thing...most people like you will still crying like little babies.

@OP Who or what is afenifere to think for us?

What do Igbos contribute to Nigeria in terms of revenue? NOTHING! yet they want to be in control.
You have nothing but you want to be in charge of other region's resources at the centre.

The mistake our fathers made was to trust Igbos thinking they are reliable people to form alliance with but we got betrayed instead. I'm sure Ahmadu Bello would have preferred to form alliance with Awolowo over Igbos but Awo was busy pacifying Igbos up and down. I wonder what he was thinking or smoking at the time.
Just read you post again....

Right from time, the north prefer the Igbos because they are hard working and develop any where they live unlike you selfish ones.

Ask yourself, if you are a northerner would you chose the Igbos that come and live with you building hotels, factories, schools and homes..than the Yorubas who just do taxi business and do not contribute any tangible assets where they live?

Even in your region, you will agree that Igbos contribute a lot...

You lot should be supporting and looking for a decent candidate from the SE, than making too much noise about Tinubu nor Osinbajo.

After the SE has had their turn, than the presidency could be thrown open...and if ONLY the Yoruba candidate is elected every year...then so be it.

That is the point.

Stop wasting tour time.
