Former Benue state governor, Gabriel Suswam was today invited and interrogated by officials of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC ,over allegations of fraud running into billions of Naira while he served as governor of the state. There was an explosion caused by a yet to be identified substance at Number 88 Oworo Road, in Oworonsoki area of Lagos State throwing the entire area into panic. Eyewitness accounts say the loud bang was heard at about 2:15 pm when residents were returning to their respective homes after church service. They revealed that many sustained injuries in attempts to escape from the scene of the blast, even though the number of casualty is yet to be ascertained as at press time. The ERT vehicle carrying 5 personnel of State Emergency Management Agency staff and NEMA staff somersaulted four times on the way to rescue people who were trapped in a flooded community. According to NEMA, the rear tyre burst on motion and vehicle had to be diverted into a canal. Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike has directed the immediate redeployment of all permanent secretaries in the state to ensure that they face new challenges. The mother of the Ebonyi State Governor, David Umahi, Deaconess Margaret Umahi, has died. Family sources say she died yesterday October 6th at an Enugu based hospital after a brief illness. Her remains have been deposited at the Federal Teaching Hospital, Abakaliki. She is survived by many children and grand children. May her soul rest in peace, Amen! The Nigeria military has released pictures of some rescued victims after capturing the villages of Jerre and Dipchari and destroyed the terrorist camps in those areas. Two Nigerians with a lifeless human body in their possession, have been arrested by the Police in Accra. This arrest took place in and around Haatso, a suburb of Accra, Thursday, after the Toyota Corolla car they were driving was stopped for inspection. Bauchi State-owned aircraft which was declared missing after ex governor Isa Yuguda exhausted his tenure has been found. The missing aircraft has landed in Nigeria from Morocco where the state government claimed it was discovered and recovered. The Embraer ERJ 145 touched down on the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa International Airport Bauchi at about 10 am Friday. Its whereabouts had been a subject of controversy as the new government suggested the aircraft was stolen by its predecessor and hidden in Morocco. In an address two weeks ago, Governor Mohammed Abubakar announced the airplane had been found in the north African country. Mr. Abubakar said the state’s public Property Recovery Committee traced the plane. “I wish to announce the fruitful efforts in locating the state owned “Embraer 145 aircraft in Morocco and soon it will land at the Abubakar Tafawa-Balewa international Airport in a matter of days,” the governor said. He said the plane would be returned to Nigeria within days. In response, former Governor Isa Yuguda told journalists the plane was on lease to Overland Airways. Mr. Yuguda said he had provided full details about the plane, which was bought by former Governor Adamu Mu’azu, in his handover notes.
