TravelRe: Italy Visa by rennie121: 11:02am On Jun 27, 2025
Hi house,

I am a student in Italy to graduate in March and I am trying to get a visa appointment for my parents (Frequent travellers) to come for my graduation.

I am starting early because I know the Italian embassy can sometime delay applications, but I can't find any dates up until September on the TLS website.

Please how can I find dates, any dates from September/October/November works for me. I just want to lock it in now so that they have that sorted.

Thank you

I got the passport request email today. They said they had been trying to call my number and it wasn't going through.

Thank you for indulging me and for taking the time out to answer my questions.

@rennie121 nothing weird. You are anxious.
Your 15 working days was up on Tuesday. Paid mail has confirmed a decision has been made. You should receive your decision soon as they said.

I did another paid email today to report that I still haven't gotten a decision and received this:

D"ear Bleep

Thank you for contacting UK Visas and Immigration International Contact Centre.

I can see a decision was made recently so you would need to allow till 19/06/2025 to receive an email with a decision letter or to collect the passport. I'm afraid we are unable to see the outcome of the decision.

Regards,"

Honestly, I'm feeling so confused/anxious about what could be going on because I am well over 15+ working days - I hope there's not being any weird complexities that could be causing this delay

Cashmadam:
Well, you will just have to wait and see the outcome.

It is neither here nor there. The delay doesn't mean you didn't get the visa. Neither does it mean you got it.

You will receive an email to drop your passport if you got the visa.

okay thanks for answering
please, do you know how long (on an average) before the outcome would be communicated to me?

giselle237:
@rennie121 they would send an email if they needed you to submit your passport… they would also send email if they have refused your application.

Hi everyone,

I applied for my UK visa on May 19th hoping that I could get it back in exactly 15 working days (estimated to be June 6th), in time for a trip on June 7th. What I didn't account for was the UK Bank Holiday which set me back a day back - so on June 2nd after sending a paid email to see if an early decision had been made, I opted for the keep my passport while applying option when they told me the decision wasn't made yet as the trip on the 7th was non-negotiable.

Fast forward, June 9th - officially 15 working days (UK calendar), I waited until 9pm at night to see if I would hear back for their decision. When I didn't, I sent a follow up on the paid email to see if the decision had been made. UKVI's contact centre responded at 5am June 10th with the templated email that they had made the decision and to wait for official comms from them on what the decision is.

P.S: I have previous refusals from the UK and they would usually have sent me the refusal email at night of the same day it was made or the next day (I know this because of the dates on the refusal letters they had shared), so I mentally braced myself for the worst as I made an assumption that the decision was made the day before.

However, it's been over 24hours since they have told me a decision has been made. I’ve received no refusal letter and also no request from VFS to submit my passport.

I’m a bit confused. If VFS wanted me to submit my passport, would they typically call, email, or both?
Also, I’m currently out of the country, so phone calls won’t go through.

I also tried to call the number they called me on when they asked me to come pick up my passport but no answers.

Anyone experienced something similar?
Any advice or insight would be appreciated.
