You are confusing monthly inflation to annual inflation.

Monthly inflation rate is used month on month. I believe if you're using annual rates, you'll need a previous year as benchmark at least. You'll have to wait for the end of 2024 to use that rate you want to use if you want it to work. Do you understand?

If you want to measure price change in the immediate, it's month on month.
