In an interview on Sunday, May 24, Iddris disclosed that the actress passed away on Saturday night at the International Maritime Hospital in Tema.
“She has been battling cancer for two years. It’s been an endless war. “She fought hard, and this is how it ended,” he said.
According to him, the cancer began as breast cancer and expanded due to its hereditary origin.
Beverly’s husband, musician Eugene Baah, also known as Choirmaster or Praye Ho Ne Ho of the Praye music group, announced her death on social media on Sunday, May 24, 2026. She was 42 years old.

The family has yet to announce funeral plans as they continue to grieve her death.
A Nigerian lady’s encounter with an Uber driver has gone viral online, with details of how it unfolded sparking buzz.
"The Uber Driver That Picked Me This Morning Completely Ruined My Mood. I entered his car and the first thing I noticed was how unusually quiet he was. No music, No small talk. Nothing. Halfway into the trip, his phone rang through the car speaker. “Daddy, mummy said we should ask if you’re coming home today because there’s no food again.” The little girl’s voice was so innocent. The man paused for like 5 seconds before replying softly, “I’ll bring something.” But immediately he ended the call, I saw him wipe his face quickly. That was when I noticed the empty pack of cabin biscuits and sachet water beside him. This man had probably not eaten too. The rest of the ride became uncomfortable for me because while I was complaining internally about Abuja traffic, somebody’s father was driving around hungry trying to save his family from embarrassment. When we got to my destination, the trip was 4,700. I gave him 20k. The way he turned immediately and stared at me ehn… You know that look people give when life has humbled them too much to even express gratitude properly? That look broke me. It’s just so sad that a lot of people are going through a lot in this Tinubu economy"

A Christian woman, Madam Serah Luca, returned N1 million recovered in goods she purchased from a Muslim trader at Terminus market, Jos, Plateau state capital, Rep9ja reports.
Madam Luca, a petty trader living on Laminga Road, said she returned the money out of fear of God, explaining she couldn’t spend or claim money that didn’t belong to her.
She narrated that she bought the goods on Friday and discovered the money hidden inside, when she returned home, emphasising her faith wouldn’t allow her to keep what she didn’t work for.
“I am a petty businesswoman. I know what it means to suffer loss. If I put that kind of money into my business, I believe God would punish me,” she said.
Speaking after returning the money, the trader, Abubakar Dola, described the woman as honest and God fearing.
He said,
“I am surprised to see her returning the money, because I did know where I kept the money. I am into polythene bag business here at Terminus.
“She came and purchased goods worth six thousand naira on Friday. I had one million naira kept in a polythene bag which I was supposed to give to a POS operator for transfer, and I mistakenly put the money inside the polythene bag she bought.
“I didn’t know the money was inside the goods she bought. Three days later, the woman returned the money to me. I pray Allah rewards her with more than what she did for me. I pray Allah gives us more people of her kind and who fear Allah.
“I thank Allah for what she did for me. It’s not easy to have people of her character. I had completely given up because I didn’t know how the money got lost. I didn’t even think I put the money in someone’s goods,“ the trader narrated.
Gunmen on Monday night ambushed and killed a 300-level student of Federal University of Education, Pankshin, Dum Village, Bachi District of Riyom Local Government Area of Plateau State, Rep9ja reports.
The student identified as 29-year-old Badung Sunday Alamba, was killed Monday, when the attackers, who reportedly positioned themselves at the entrance of the village, opened fire on two young men from the community, but one escaped.
He was said to be the only child of his mother.
A member of the community, Mr Dung Elisha, who spoke to our correspondent, said, “he was the only child of his mother”.
The deceased’s companion, Dachomo Habila, narrowly escaped unhurt despite attempts by the gunmen to kill him.
Rwang Tengwong, National Publicity Secretary of the Berom Youth Moulders-Association (BYM), confirmed the incident to newsmen.
He strongly condemned the attack, describing it as “a premeditated, calculated and barbaric assault on innocent civilians”.
Tengwong said the attackers deliberately targeted Berom communities in Riyom, Barkin Ladi, and Jos South Local Government Areas.
He called for an immediate and thorough investigation into the killing and urged security agencies to track down the perpetrators and their sponsors and bring them to justice without delay.
The BYM spokesman also urged security operatives to strengthen surveillance and protection around vulnerable communities that have repeatedly come under attack.
Efforts to reach the spokesman of the Plateau State Police Command, SP Alfred Alabo, for comments proved abortive.
The Plateau State Government has further relaxed the curfew earlier imposed on Jos North Local Government Area following the return of relative peace after the Angwan Rukuba attacks, Rep9ja reports.
The adjustment was made in consultation with security agencies.
The new curfew hours will take effect from Wednesday, April 8, 2026. Under the new directive, residents are allowed to move freely from 6am to 6pm daily.
The government stated that the dusk-to-dawn curfew from 6pm to 6am remains in force. Citizens were urged to carry out their lawful activities within the relaxed hours. They were also advised to strictly observe the curfew period.
Governor Caleb Mutfwang directed all security agencies to enforce the curfew. The directive is aimed at ensuring the protection of lives and property. It is also intended to restore calm in affected areas. Residents were advised to remain indoors during curfew hours.
They were further urged to cooperate with security agencies. The government also called on the public to provide useful information that would support efforts to maintain peace and order.
The directive was contained in a press statement signed by the Commissioner for Information and Communication, Hon. Joyce Lohya Ramnap, on April 7, 2026.
Church folks and family members have been left heartbroken after the church founder was found dead in a guest house where he had spent a night with female member, Rep9ja reports.
The police has already moved in and is now trying to find out the true circumstances of the pastor’s death.
The man of God has been identified as Rev Michael Kofi Appiah, founder and leader of Light of Faith Ministry based in Takoradi, Ghana.
According to information gathered by Rep9ja, the Rev Appiah booked a night with a female member of his ministry who is also a university undergraduate.
What was supposed to be a confidential night out between the pastor and the student however went awry after the former, became unconscious.
They had taken their room at about 10pm whereupon they were served food and other refreshments on request, oblivious what laid in wait.
Reports say the guest house attendants raised the alarm after they discovered that the man had become unconscious.
Whether this was as a result of something ingested or not, is what the police is now trying to unravel.
However, it had become the talk of the town in Takoradi and beyond, with many query why a man of God so-called should elect to lodge in a hotel room with a married woman.
Police investigation is ongoing even while the result of a post-mortem is being awaited.
Residents of Anguwan Rogo and Anguwan Rukuba communities in Jos who protected both Christians and Muslims during recent violence have been rewarded with N1 million, with N500,000 each for the two communities, Rep9ja reports.
On Sunday last week, some residents of Anguwan Rukuba reportedly saved several Muslims caught in the violence after gunmen attacked the community.
The victims were later handed over to security agencies and community leaders after the tension died down.
Two days later, following the relaxation of a curfew, fresh crisis erupted in some parts of Jos North, affecting some Christians in Anguwan Rogo.
They were, however, shielded by residents and safely handed over to security personnel.
Impressed by their show of humanity and kindnes, a former member of the House of Representatives, Hon. Gwani Muhammad Adam Alkali, rewarded the good Samaritans with cash, commending their commitment to peaceful coexistence and urging others to emulate them.
Speaking on behalf of the beneficiaries, community representatives said they shielded the people out of sheer humanity and appreciated the gesture.
Blessed Geoffrey from Anguwan Rukuba said,
“What we did was simply put humanity first—protecting our neighbors regardless of their faith. They are human beings like us, and if we have the chance to protect them, we can do it. His concern strengthens our belief that peace is not only possible but necessary.”
Muhammad Sulaiman from Anguwan Rogo said, “What happened showed that humanity is above religion, and we are proud of what both communities achieved together. A human being is a human being irrespective of their religion. We appreciate Gwani for strengthening the bond between us and our Christian neighbors. We did not act for recognition, but for the sake of Allah.”
At least 28 persons were killed when gunmen attacked Anguwan Rukuba, shooting indiscriminately before fleeing.
Suspected Bandits have attacked Ariko community in Kachia Local Government Area of Kaduna State, killing at least seven people and abducting several others during Easter celebrations, Rep9ja reports.
The attack occurred in the early hours of Easter Sunday when heavily armed gunmen stormed the area, targeting two churches, the ECWA Church and St. Augustine Catholic Church in Kaduna, where worshippers had gathered.
The councillor representing Awon Ward, Mark Bawa, confirmed the incident, noting that the exact number of casualties was still being verified, with reports ranging between seven and eight deaths.
According to him, the attackers arrived in large numbers, surrounded the community, and opened fire indiscriminately, killing worshippers and taking several others into the bush.
“I am currently on my way to the community to ascertain the exact number of casualties. Some sources said seven persons were killed, while others claimed eight. I will provide an update once details are confirmed,” Bawa said.
“The attackers came in large numbers. They surrounded the area and began shooting sporadically at worshippers. Several people were killed, while many others were taken away into the bush,” he added.
Residents said the assailants operated for an extended period without resistance, raising concerns over the vulnerability of rural communities and the lack of timely security response, partly due to poor telecommunications in the area.
The Kaduna State Police Command had yet to issue an official statement on the attack as of the time of filing this report.
The National Working Committee (NWC) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), led by Tanimu Turaki, has criticised President Bola Tinubu over his visit to Jos, Plateau State, describing it as insensitive and lacking compassion for victims of the recent killings, Rep9ja reports.
In a statement issued by its National Publicity Secretary, Ini Ememobong, the opposition party described the President’s visit on Thursday as performative.
The party argued that it would have been preferable for him to remain in Abuja.
The PDP said the president’s remarks failed to comfort grieving families, adding that his inability to move beyond the airport suggested that security agencies were overwhelmed by the worsening insecurity across the country.
“On Palm Sunday, March 29, 2026, more than 40 people were massacred in Plateau State, and the Presidency remained silent for over 48 hours
“Subsequently, the administration glossed over the carnage until Nigerians condemned the President for not visiting the state,” the statement read in part. The party further alleged that Tinubu’s eventual visit, four days later, was rushed and lacked empathy. It claimed he held a brief meeting with stakeholders and victims at the Jos airport lounge before departing.
“The president’s insensitivity was evident. His impatience was clear when he remarked that the airport had no light and that he had only 10 minutes before returning to Abuja. His words offered no succour to the victims and were far from reassuring,” the PDP stated.
Condemning what it termed a superficial show, the party insisted the visit added salt to injury for those affected by the violence.
The PDP also faulted the president’s proposal to install 5,000 Closed-Circuit Television (CCTV) cameras, describing it as a simplistic response to a complex security crisis.
“It is unrealistic to suggest that cameras alone can address the insecurity ravaging Plateau State and the nation,” the statement added.
The party called on the Federal Government to adopt a comprehensive and whole-of-society approach with strong emphasis on community engagement to tackle the country’s deepening security challenges.
Barely 24 hours after President Bola Tinubu met grieving families of victims killed in Angwan Rukuba, Jos North Local Government Area of Plateau State, armed men have wreaked yet another havoc in the state, Rep9ja reports.
During the brief meeting which held at Yakubu Gowon Airport, Jos, the President assured the people that such attacks would never happen again.
“To the victims, there is nothing I can give you, whether in billions of naira, but I can console you and promise that this experience will not repeat itself,” Tinubu had said.
However, at least three persons were shot dead in Nyango Gyel community of Jos South Local Government Area of Plateau, on Friday night.
According to reports gathered that the attackers invaded the community around 10:40 pm, shooting sporadically before fleeing.
The Secretary of the Berom Youth Moulders Association (BYM), Rwang Tengwong, who confirmed the incident, described it as another senseless assault on innocent citizens going about their normal businesses.
“This cycle of attacks on our rural communities must stop. We call on security agencies to act swiftly and bring the perpetrators to justice.”
“We urge heightened vigilance among residents of rural communities in Jos South, Riyom, and Barkin Ladi Local Government Areas,” he said.
When contacted the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) of the Jos command, Alfred Alabo, told our correspondent that he was in a meeting, but would get back shortly.
Plateau State Governor, Caleb Mutfwang, has explained that his decision to address residents from an armoured tank carrier (ATC) following the Palm Sunday attack in Jos was based on security advice and the need for better visibility, Rep9ja reports.
Speaking on Channels Television’s Politics, the governor said the elevated position allowed him to effectively communicate with the crowd during a tense moment.
“From the height I stood, part of the reason they put me in the ATC was for me to gain height in order to address the crowd,” he said.
Mutfwang dismissed speculation that he was under threat, maintaining that his interaction with residents was largely peaceful and cooperative.
“As I addressed the crowd and they were comfortable that I had arrived, that’s why they were saying, ‘come, come,’ assuring me that I could come and that there was no harm,” he added.
He noted that public perception of the incident was shaped by selective social media clips, which, according to him, failed to capture the full extent of his engagement with grieving residents.
“If not for mischief, why are people not focusing on where I spent 90 per cent of the time with the crowd… appealing to people and calming them?” he queried.
The governor said he felt safe among the people but acknowledged that security personnel had a duty to take precautions given the volatile environment.
“I was comfortable with the people. I knew the people were not going to harm me, but the security had to,” he added.
He also revealed that he had been in Abuja attending official engagements when news of the attack broke, prompting his immediate return to the state.
“I was in Abuja, you remember, at the back of the APC National Convention, and then I had a very high-level security consultation on Sunday evening with some of the top security chiefs,” he said.
“We were discussing some of the things we need to do going forward when the news filtered that this had happened.”
According to him, he insisted on visiting the scene despite security concerns, as residents had demanded to see him before allowing the evacuation of victims.
“As early as 7 a.m., the presidential air fleet released a plane for me to return home. I wanted to drive straight to the scene because the crowd had said unless they see the governor, they are not going to allow those corpses to be evacuated,” he stated.
Mutfwang expressed appreciation to the people of Plateau State for their trust, reaffirming his commitment to stand with them in difficult times.
“I want to thank Plateau people for the level of trust and confidence they have reposed in me, which I have vowed never to betray,” he said.

Plateau police spokesman, Alfred Alabo, who confirmed the arrest of the suspects in a statement on Wednesday, disclosed that Abdullahi was apprehended dressed in military camouflage, a development he described as a calculated attempt to deceive unsuspecting victims and evade security checks.
He noted that a search on the suspect led to the recovery of an extra shirt and a forged identity card of the Nigerian Military School, reinforcing suspicions of deliberate impersonation.
Alabo stated that the arrest of the suspects followed intensive investigation and security operations launched by the command following renewed violence in the state capital, which started on Sunday, March 29th and has continued with pockets of violence in other parts of the metropolis.
“In the same operation, another suspect, Matthew Musa, 27, was arrested with two locally made firearms believed to have been used in violent operations within affected communities,” Alabo said in the statement.
“All seven suspects are currently in custody at the State Criminal Investigation Department (CID), where comprehensive investigations are ongoing to unravel the full network behind the attacks. They are expected to be charged to court upon conclusion of the probe.
“The Commissioner of Police, Bassey Ewah, has ordered the immediate deployment of additional personnel to volatile areas across Jos and adjoining communities, in a decisive move to restore calm and prevent further bloodshed.”

The attention of Headquarters Joint Task Force Operation ENDURING PEACE has been drawn to a false comment by one of the youth leaders of Angwan Rukuba Community, circulating on various social media platforms, alleging that troops provided cover for the perpetrators of Palm Sunday unprovoked attack at Angwan Rukuba Community in Jos North Local Government Area of Plateau State, Rep9ja reports.
Ordinarily, the reply to the comment made by the youth leader would not have been necessary, especially in this moment of grief, but for the purpose of clarity and the benefit of well meaning Nigerians it is expedient to state unequivocally that at no point did troops provide any form of cover for the terrorists elements who carried out the unfortunate attack that claimed the lives of innocent citizens.
Rather, troops on receiving a distress call on the unfortunate incident swiftly mobilised to the scene, which was far away from where they were deployed and observed that the attackers had fled.
Troops acted professionally to avert what could have spiraled to endless bloodshed and pursued the fleeing criminals as can be attested to, by so many survivors who were at the scene of the attack.
Specifically, 4 Guntrucks mounted by troops were despatched to the incident scene and they acted professionally on arrival as confirmed by other security agencies, as well as eye witnesses at the scene of the attack.
Nonetheless, the allegation was promptly investigated and confirmed to be false.
The comment by the youth leader is false, misleading and unfortunate, capable of demoralizing troops and causing disaffection between the Military and its host community.
The public is requested to discountenance the comment, remain calm, law abiding and continue to support troops with credible and actionable information on terrorists activities.
Troops in conjunction with other security agencies have adopted effective strategies to unravel and apprehend the perpetrators of the dastardly act.
Troops will continue to deal decisively with criminals while maintaining peace in every part of Plateau State.

Worried by insecurity and crime gradually creeping into many communities in Jos, the Plateau State capital, a group of young women made up of Christians and Muslims have teamed up to form an all-female vigilante outfit to confront violence, theft, and drug-related crimes, Rep9ja reports.
Leader of the group, Blessing Ngozi Emmanuel, who revealed the initiative in an interview with Reuters on Wednesday, said the formation of the outfit stemmed from rising insecurity and its deepening impact on communities in the state capital once reputed to be the most safe location in the country.
Emmanuel stated that the new outfit has so far brought together women who are willing to sacrifice their comfort for the safety of their children and communities following what she described as repeated failures of government security promises.
According to her, the group was created as a grassroots effort to contribute to the safety and stability of their communities as well as complement the efforts of their men in providing support structures to security agencies.
“We have been able to help reduce thefts, taking of drugs and other vices,” Emmanuel said in the interview.
Findings reveal that the all-female vigilante team currently comprises about 20 women from both Muslim and Christian backgrounds, reflecting a rare show of unity across religious lines in a region often marked by tension.
They conduct nightly patrols between 9 p.m. and 1 a.m., focusing on areas they consider most vulnerable to crime but according to Emmanuel, their work has not come without risks as some members have reportedly been injured during operations, while others have received threats.
“One of our members was warned by hoodlums that she could be made to disappear if she continued her involvement,” she said, but stressed that despite the dangers, the women have insisted that their mission is strictly to support community security, not to replace formal law enforcement.
She also expressed frustration over the lack of official recognition or support, noting that it was only weeks ago that local government officials visited them, despite months of active operations.
A young Nigerian man reportedly dragged his ex-girlfriend to court after she refused to marry him despite him funding her university education, Rep9ja reports.
The case, shared on Facebook by Obasi Nzubechi, has sparked widespread discussion online.
According to the man, he met the lady shortly after she completed secondary school education.
He revealed that he informed her parents of his intention to marry her, but they reportedly insisted she attend university first.
Her parents allegedly told him he could only marry her if he agreed to sponsor her education, which was expected to last about four years. He accepted the arrangement.
After the lady graduated, the man approached her about marriage, but she reportedly said she was not ready for marriage.
He explained that she gave no clear reason for her decision and had been avoiding him.
The man further revealed that when he raised the matter with her parents, they told him that their daughter is an adult and cannot be forced to marry.
The parent reportedly advised him to move on and assured him he could find a wife elsewhere.
When questioned about her refusal, the lady reportedly said,
“I no longer have feelings for him.” Regarding repayment for her education, she added, “I have no plans to refund him. He acted on his own free will. Besides, how does he intend to compensate me for the sèx we had? I did not force him to spend or send me to school, my parents only suggested that.”
The presiding judge delivered a decisive ruling in favor of the man, emphasizing that while marriage cannot be compelled, a serious promise relied upon to one party’s detriment may warrant legal remedy.
The judgment stated:
“The Plaintiff undertook the financial responsibility of training the Defendant through school upon a clear representation and expectation of marriage. The Defendant, upon graduation, declined the marriage without any justifiable or cogent reason… Her refusal, in the circumstances of this case, amounts to a breach that occasioned financial and emotional loss to the Plaintiff. The Defendant’s argument that the Plaintiff acted voluntarily does not absolve her of responsibility. Judgment is hereby entered in favor of the Plaintiff. The Defendant is ordered to pay ₦15,000,000 (Fifteen Million Naira) in damages to the Plaintiff for losses suffered…”
A Nigerian lady has shared her thoughts on why she has chosen to remain single, Rep9ja reports.
In a video circulating online, she said she avoids relationships because she believes she would take out her anger on her partner.
“I feel like the only reason I’ll get married is to have someone I’ll be hurting every time I cheat and someone I’ll beat when I’m angry,” she said.
She added that she prefers to stay on her own rather than bring harm into a relationship, despite pressure from her mother to get married.
