Who are the Bana Mura?

Last year, an anti-government rebel group named Kamuina Nsapu sprang up in the opposition-dominated Kasai region. As the insurrection spread, human rights groups accused both the rebels and the Congolese army of committing atrocities.

In recent months, a new militia appeared, calling itself the Bana Mura. Filled with ethnic rivals of the Kamuina Nsapu, the militia appears to have been created, armed and supported by the government, according to Hussein, the U.N. human rights commissioner.

In the last two months, the Bana Mura carried out horrific attacks on villages aligned with the rebels, he said.

“My team saw children as young as 2 whose limbs had been chopped off. Many babies had machete wounds and severe burns,” Hussein said.

“One 2-month-old baby seen by my team had been hit by two bullets four hours after birth. The mother was also wounded. At least two pregnant women were sliced open and their fetuses mutilated.”

He said witnesses testified that members of the Congolese armed forces and police accompanied Bana Mura during its attacks while government agents or officials had armed and directed the group.

HORRORIZON:
Pure lie. Most AA despise whites to one degree or the other, and the same in reverse.. due to the centuries of bad blood between the two groups. If anything, it's the other way around. White Americans have for centuries attempted to rob and hold claim to countless AA music forms, dances, words play, engineering, medical, and scientific inventions and advancements just to name a few things. It would be an understatement to say that there's bad blood between the two; at best they are simply cordial with each-other but the cinder to spark the next major rift between the two always burns red hot below the surface of this scab of a cover.

There's AA who despise whites but most tend to despise their fellow AA more so than their white american counterparts which is of course by design. The sheep like mentality in the African American community contributes to that and why it almost makes it impossible for most AA to despise white Americans. Most AA are influenced one way or the other by people who tend to vindicate white american values or encourage negative self defeating behavior. People like Larry Elder, Ben Carson, David Clarke, Jason Whitlock, Stephen A. Smith, Jesse Lee Peterson, Don Lemon, Stacey Dash, Steve Harvey, Wayne Brady, Tyler Perry, Lee Daniels, Charley Barkley, Lil' Wayne, Al Sharpton, Condoleezza Rice, Susan Rice, Clarence Thomas, Obama, Herman Cain, Allen West and many others would sell their mother for white immunity and these are some of the people a lot of African Americans are influence by. Therefore it's logical to assume that most African Americans probably don't despise white Americans as much as we'd like to believe.

OP you can interchange African American with Nigerians in this example... one sermon long ago I tried to tell my large African American congregation that Jesus was as black as me and you.. don't you know they tried to whip my a** ! after that.

This research aims at investigating an incident in North Kivu, Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), which reportedly involved two combat helicopters piloted by foreign staff.

The main objective is to obtain more clarity on the presence of private military companies (or contractors), also known as PMCs, in DRC in particular. The nature of their relationship with the nation-state actors active on the territory – namely, the FARDC (DRC Army) as well as the FAC (DRC Air Force) – will also be examined.

Key Findings

The research points to the possibility that foreign military pilots active in DRC act as trainers and mentors for the local troops.
The gathered information leads to the possibility that such pilots also take active part in FARDC military operations in North Kivu.
It appears likely that, while the presence of PMCs in DRC has a long history, the examined presence of private military staff in Goma and North Kivu in support of the FAC was initiated, or escalated, in early 2014, in correspondence of a resurgence of conflict with one of the militias active in the province.
Mining interests in North Kivu, in conjunction with the ineffectiveness of the FARDC, could represent a lead motive for the involvement of PMCs in the area.

"The peculiarity of the incident is in the helicopter crews of both Mi-24s. One crew, reportedly, consisted of two Georgian pilots, one of which turned out to have been taken prisoner by the M23 attackers, or transferred to a linked group; while the other crew consisted of two Belarusian men. Both crews were reportedly in DRC on “private contracts”, but it remained unclear why they were piloting — or at least on board of — FAC combat helicopters in an active conflict area.

In the 23 years (1885-1908) Leopold II ruled the Congo he massacred 10 million Africans by cutting off their hands and genitals, flogging them to death, starving them into forced labour, holding children ransom and burning villages. The ironic part of this story is that Leopold II committed these atrocities by not even setting foot in the Congo.

Foreign Minister Georges Chikoti made clear that patience was running out in May, when he questioned a statement in which Congo said a conflict in the Kasai region bordering Angola had been resolved after several months.

"On one side, we are told that the question of the succession of the kingdom of Kasai has been resolved, on the other, we (still) see people who arrive (in Angola) having been treated badly," he told French broadcaster RFI.

Kinshasa — More than 3,000 people have been killed in eight months of spiraling violence in the Democratic Republic of Congo’s troubled central region of Kasai, a report by the Roman Catholic church says.

According to figures compiled by the church and listed in a report by the papal envoy, a copy of which was seen by AFP on Tuesday, some 3,383 people have died in violence between security forces and a tribal militia.
