First of all, I would to say that you have to be very bold to speak on. Subject like this, and for so long many, many pastors have been teaching and preaching on this subject of tithing, for many years they if you don't "PAY" your tithes you and your household will be curse. You have so many believers believing that, and a lot of pastors forget what tithing was really for, it wasn't to make their pockets fat, but it was to help the widows, fatherless, travellers and etc. and then the Levites got their portion, many pastors not all want the members to give their tithes so they can get rich. I know their will be some out there will not agree with what I about to say, some may know and others may not. But, for awhile in the 17 thru the middle of the 1800, the government was funding the churches, but later on they decided not to, so there wasn't no money coming in the church, all this was before the Civil War, their was a preacher name Bassett, came up with a sermon on tithing, and he insisted that tithing was a good idea and he started preaching this, and other preachers and pastors started preaching it until this day. But as you notice a lot be said about tithing, but what about the offering? Today, many pastors and most believers, look down at the ones who don't give tithes as you notice said "GIVE" and not "PAY" tithes the first thing they want to do is cut them down and say YOU NEVER WILL BE BLESS! But I found out if you have a real relationship with God you are bless, we must remember or try to remember, that person who couldn't give their ten percent might be struggling, but we their them have faith and give and the Lord will provide, and yes he will, then when a person who do give and give faithfully, and they have a need, they go their pastor and say they need help with a bill or whatever they can't get a dime, but this person was a faithful tithe giver. You know what, instead of judging and saying if you don't give your tithes you are curse, what about we do this pray and ask God to show us the right way, Luke 11:42 Jesus was talking to the Pharisees, he said you give your tithes in mint and myth, but something that you really are missing that God Love and Being Fair towards a Brother and Sister. It's alright to give tithes just as long as your heart is right, and not because you greedy and you doing this so you can get something back. One time I went to service, and this preacher who was the speaker, begin to talk, and his Sermon was on tithing, I remember that he said this I never will forget, he said. " THOSE OF YOU WHO NEVER PAID YOUR TITHES YOU ARE A THIEF AND I DON'T WON'T TO HAVE ANYTHING TO DO WITH YOU, BECAUSE IF YOU ROB GOD, YOU ROB ME AND I DON'T EVEN WON'T YOU TO SHAKE MY HAND, AND IF YOU TRY THE LORD WILL SHOW ME AND I WILL SHATCH IT BACK! What you think about that, I was reading some of replies some was critical and others was understand, but we have to remember whatever the Lord, puts on our heart to do thats what we do, one more thing we should note that tithing was for the Jewish People only, the author tilte this article "THE TRUTH YOUR PASTOR WOULD NOT TELL YOU ABOUT TITHES" but some pastors dont know the truth they just going by what they was told about tithing. I will like act, more we find out that a whole lot of pastors And other leaders focus on tithes, reason because it the tenth of your income as in Mal. 3:8-11, it states tithes and offering many pastors don't won't to focus in on the offering, just the tithing this is what the author was saying, I agree with one who mention about this particular book Amy leaders just focus on this one, I did study on tithing as well, and I found out that it wasnt to make the preacher rich, but it was to help support the ones who was in need and who was hungry. I'm on disablitiy, so that mean that I get paid once a month, it has been taught in my church that you supposed to give a tenth out of that, but when you go back read it was from your earning. Disability is something that is given to you, I'm a preacher an Elder, when I stop paying my tithes my pastor said I couldnt do nothing anymore, so what he was saying because I don't pay tithes i can't preach and teach and do those things that God have for me to do, but still when someone in need you don't won't to help them. Like the poster said, the early Christian didn't pay tithes they gave an offering, it jus took one preacher to come up with one sermon to get things going, the bible said, we perish for the lack of ignorance. This poster study and did research and found out the truth and now he is sharing it and that's good because there are a lot of people out there that is not studying they just going by what they hear, I believe that God want people to know the truth, we been lied to for so long the it's crazy, in modern day churches pastors just trying to get rich, they use God's house for a business, I know some churches if you don't pay your tithes that they are ready to put you out, I was talking to a sister, who told me that she had a friend who went to a particular church, she miss a couple of Sundays going to church because she was sick, she continue that later on during the week she received a letter in the mail saying because she miss a couple a month not paying her tithes that she wasn't no longer a member of that church, I'm asking you, is this Right! We have to open up our eyes and see whats really going on. If their anyone of you out there who disagree or don't approve of this article the the poster wrote, then I hope that you pray and God will show you the light, many times I use to think that the only way for you to be bless is to pay your tithing, until the Lord spoke to me one day and said, You was bless before you was paying your tithes. Think about this, the Word ,said that the Lord is not the author of confuision, then why is it that when teaching come forth about tithing that it seem like an issue, that it seem like the pastor always have to really explain to a person why they should pay their tithes and still others don't , I think because it wasn't meant to be. |
