If as you said he has everything available that came with the phone, I believe the phone original box will be available too, if yes, then check the body of the phone box to correspond information in the phone like serial number and IMEI.
If everything tallied, let him sign out mi account and go ahead and buy.. since he has agreed to write you an agreement.
